  1. I'm too lazy to read the article, but maybe the lawsuit was started way back when with the Dual Shock 1, but its just taken this long to be resolved? What does this mean for vibration in PS2 controllers, now?
  2. It's my fault. I started reading it immediatly before they cut it. I can only assume that it was dropped just to spite me. I've been out of the manga loop for quite a while, but I thought I'd heard that Viz had closed down?
  3. Probably no Mark Hamil...
  4. The Robotech RPGs were made in the late 1980's, with very limited resources and (apparently) not the best translator. Keep in mind it was a time where aniem fans didn't have anything close to the amount of information we have available to us now, so they did what they could. The Macross II Deck Plans suffered from a similar problem, where the hell were they supposed to get deckplans for those ships from? Best part about those deck plans were that they were done by DreamPod9, who later went on to do Heavy Gear and Jovian Chronicles.
  5. Better the weirdos spend their time with comics than acting out against real kids.
  6. Considering that Macross 7 had the most popular music out of any Macross series, it's not surprising in the least.
  7. Bullshit. I thought the Supreme Court ruled that drawn child pornography counted as freedom of speech? Either way, going to jail over cartoons is just stupid.. regardless of content, it's a CARTOON.
  8. Both look good, but compared to Resident Evil 4 or Halo 2? Meh. It's not fanboy whining, the PS2 is the inferior system. Period. Does that make it bad? No. Do I own one? Yes. But in terms of graphics, it's the inferior system.
  9. nice way to get carpel tunnel If you're getting carpal tunnel from playing video games, you have much bigger problems. Like not having a life.
  10. The device that springs to mind that hurt my fingers would be would be the arcade stick. I hate having to arch my fingers in some claw-like manner to hit the buttons. Most people I know just lay their hands flat ovver the buttons...
  11. I haven't tried to rip and convert a DVD yet. But depending on the quality, you might be able to get it on a 256mb card, and almost definately onto a 512. Still waiting for the gigs, though... Can pick up a 1gig for about $100: http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDeta..._n=57&WT.mc_t=U I wonder if anyone is going to make a CF/SD card reader for the PSP? MemoryStick prices are ridiculous.
  12. Personally, I've never had either device hurt my fingers, with rare exceptions(Sony-brand PS1 d-pads spring to mind, as do TI-brand 99/4a joysticks). On D-pad intensive games like sidescrollers, the Dual Shocks still destroy my thumbs. The downside of arcade sticks is that it costs a fair amount of money to get a decent one, and to most people it's just not worth it. On the other hand, a nice Sega Saturn controller for the PS2 costs about $30 and is probably the best balance. Again, the multi-platform issue is pretty much a non-issue, as it'd be VERY surprising if we didn't see SCIII on other platforms down the line. There's really no benefit of releasing a game on only one system if the company can afford it and know it will sell, which SCIII definately will.
  13. I had no interest in online games until I started playing Halo2 online splitscreen with friends. I loved it so much I went out and bought an Xbox with Halo2 and still havent touched the single player mode. In the last 3-4 months I've been playing, I've enocuntered very few idiots and the majority of people are either quiet and say nothing or are friendly. Really changed my perspective of online gaming. That said, I don't think Macross really needs online gaming. The trendy thing nowadays is to make a game franchise online, but ends up getting carried out poorly and just results in a poor game experience. IF they were to make a Macross game, I think it should be because the designers had a good game idea and said "This would be best carried out online," opposed to "Lets make this online for the hell of it." It's taken so long just to get a decent 3d Macross shooter, the game designers shoudl focus on improving the current game model rather than ruining the dish with too many ingredients.
  14. Were those the early days of time that never existed, because I honestly can't remember a time that teh PS2 graphics were ever "good." Dreamcast games looked better than early PS2 games, and once the launch Gamecube and XBox games came out, well... The only real benefit I can see of SCIII on the PS2 is the better range of arcade sticks and decent game pads (aftermarket, the Dual Shocks suck) when compared to the XBox or Gamecube. But really, with an adaptor or two it's pretty much irrelevant.
  15. Seriously. None of the guys making fun of him would have the cahones to make a fool out of themselves, so props to SDF-Man.
  16. Better yet, rename it "Commander MCBride talks out of his ass about cars." Seriously man, I'm not picking on him, I'm picking on the consistently rdiciulous and inane statements he makes. I bet you can tell how much horsepower a car makes by it's exhaust note too, eh?
  17. It will come out on Xbox and Gamecube later, no doubt. The Gamecube version of SCII sold better than the PS2 and XBox versions, thanks to Link being included so it would be ridiculous if Namco never released this game on other platforms. Likely a temporary exclusivity deal, like Dead or Alive 2 on the PS2/DC back in the day or GTA3.
  18. You just don't stop, do you?
  19. Guessing it was a mod having some fun.
  20. Er, now everyone's hating on Mospeada designs because HG's using them for the new Robotech series?
  21. I think we need a group hug.
  22. I'm just surprised this thread hasn't been moved yet.
  23. He made a shitty, shitty car. Er... ok?
  24. I'd disagree with you on that. I think Battlecry did a much better job of capturing the feeling of the series it was trying to reproduce, the colors, style and sound of the game felt much closer to Robotech than the PS2 Macross game felt to the original Macross series. I ultimately had more fun playing Battlecry than I did with the PS2 Macross game, despite the fact that Battlecry had it's fair share of problems (too many protection missions, low flight ceiling, unoriginal story).
  25. White, shmite. I have very little faith in Sony's design sense, so I'm expecting the PS3 to be pretty ugly. It's saving grace for me will likely be that I have yet to buy an American PS2, so if it's backwards compatible I'll likely grab one to catch up on games.
