  1. Spawn is still popular? I thought he went out of style in the late 90's, around the time everyone realized what a complete assbag Todd "I'm so overrated" McFarlane is.
  2. Hate to plug my own site, but: http://www.yellowlightman.com/macross/omake/dyrljoke/
  3. I'm really impressed that someone takes a cartoon so seriously they call it an ..."afront on their childhood." Don't get out much?
  4. You say that like it's a bad thing.
  5. That should be "...affects my logic." Not "...effects my logic."
  6. Ebay is a bit of a crap-shoot, but I've gotten some great deals on miniatures on there.
  7. Hah, I wonder who you're talking about... I mean, don't get me wrong, they're good cars. I just think they face a lot of competition in their price range and as a result don't look as impressive as they once did. Christ, for $30k I'd pay a little more and move up to a C5 Z06. Or pay a little less and get an RX8. Or a LanEvo.
  8. You can say the same for extreme suspension setups and stock tires. A guy I know has a mid-90's 3-series with coil-overs, around 400+lbs all around. It's slammed and stiff as hell, but he still "pimps" it on the stock wheels and tires. As a result, it's unstable as hell in turns. He went to an autocross and managed to spin it, keep in mind he left traction control ON and it's an automatic.
  9. I dislike them. When they came out they were about the only performance-minded Japanese import available in the States and got lots of praise from the press. Since then, with the RX8, the Lancer Evolution, the WRX STi, and domestic competitors like the new GTO... they've really lost their luster. They've also pretty ugly and pretty much ignored what made the original 240Z so great (although to be fair, the 280ZX and 300ZX did that too).
  10. If we're talking about annoying backup stories, I'll relate one I heard today from a kid in my motorcycle maitenance program. He was driving his motorcycle and stopped behind a large pickup at a 4-way stop. The truck decided to go into reverse and started backing up. The kid put the bike in neutral and started walking it backwards, but it wasn't fast enough and the truck's bumper caught the bike's front fender and started crushing/pushing over the bike. The kid was screaming and honking but the guy in the truck was completely unaware until a random person ran upt ot he truck and yelled at the driver to stop. Scary poo.
  11. To be honest, it sounds like they're dragging out the coat tails of a story that for all intents and purposes was finished (poorly, might I add). It seems like they would have been better of setting it during the movies, with the players working for Zion or the machines and fighting against each other.
  12. I completely agree, Macross Plus was kind of the tail-end of Kawamori's creative genius in my eyes. Since then all his variable fighters have been boring as poo, none of them close to the style and originality of his early designs.
  13. I dig Japanese sci-fi movies, looks like it could be entertaining. I'll definately be giving it a try once it becoems available here in some form (or downloadable, for that matter).
  14. And if the bike itself was on fire, it would be a Ford.
  15. The truck isn't exactly my cup of tea, but damn that thing is CLEAN. That interior looks spotless, as does your engine bay. It looks damn good.
  16. Seriously, the title to this thread is in really poor taste. Not to mention the responses.
  17. Probably one of the best fan sites on the web, crazy to think it's been around for 10 years. The internet is starting to feel old, eh? Congratulations Egan, here's to hoping for another 10.
  18. Paused the video, took a screen capture.
  19. Any chance you could post larger scans? Translations would be easier if it was easier to make out the characters and runi keys.
  20. Well, there's one anime reference...
  21. I loved A&A, just took forever to play. Used to play the A&A game on my girlfriend's PC, but it never ran right in Windows XP. Might have to check this one out, as my Windows laptop could probably run it...
  22. You're snorting a lot, might want to blow your nose.
  23. That's such a depressing website. A destroyed MB Gullwing... ugh. Reminds me of all the kids in high school who's parents would buy them a nice car, only to have them wreck it a few months later... just on a much greater scale.
  24. Yeah, but Vader was ultimately a good guy. Kurgan on the other hand, is pure, unadulterated evil from start to finish. Not to mention the fact that he's completely off the hook throughout the whole flick, totally out of control, and nuts. That's because by many accounts he was seriously nuts offscreen as well. I think it was in the director's commentary where they talk about how Clancy Brown would get into character and peopel would just be frightened to approach him.
  25. Back that statement up with some sources, please.
