  1. I thought you were a hard-core drifter...... Dude, there's an e-brake in the car for a reason! The Civic SI is a big switch from your 240sx. Personally, I can't stand the things... they look like 2-door Honda Odyssey's.
  2. Words into my mouth, I said the Christian Crusaders, not Christians in general. C'mon Hurin, you can do better than this. Might help if you pulled your heat out of AgentOne's ass ( ) so you could actually see what people are writing, instead of trying to argue for the sake of arguing.
  3. I really didn't want this to turn into a huge religious debate, so I'm not going to argue with you about this because it's just going to get the thread closed. That said, I fully understand Islam has it's problems, but I think western society is trying to change it in the wrong way, invading countries or condeming them for being "backwards" isn't going to win them over. And I'll fuly admit I don't know there's an easy issue to the problem. Anyways, I did a poor job of voicing my initial concern over the movie, which was that it might be misconstrued or used as anti-Muslim propoganda. I never said that it was (still haven't seen it), but based upon the trailers that was simply a concern that popped into my mind. Given that the Crusades (and pretty much all of the medieval interactions between Europe and Islam) has such relevance in today's events, I was simply hoping it wouldn't be turned into a black-and-white story about evil Muslims and righteous Christians.
  4. When did I ever say western religion and/or Christianity was evil? I didn't, I said invading a land that no longer belongs to you for religious reasons was fundamentally evil. War based on faulty reasoning is bad, there's no other way around it. But I suppose if the Native American's rose up and wanted North America back, you'd willingly give up your homes...? Glad to know Fox News is properly educating you about Islam! Yes, you're right, it's a religion completely devoted to oppression and blowing poo up. Hell, I'm lucky the Muslim friends I had growing up didn't drive their cars into my house! Slaves, treating women as sub-human, killing in the name of God...? Sounds suspiciously like Christianity a couple hundred years ago.
  5. I'm still not sure I'm going to see this, mostly because of how the trailer portrays the movie. There's a fundamental problem to having the movie take place during one of the few periods during the Crusades that Jerusalem was actually controlled by the Christians; by having the Muslims attacking Jerusalem (to retake their land), it seems to make it easy to portray the Muslims as "the bad guys," when it was most definately the Christian Crusaders who were the more evil of the two groups.
  6. I bought 2-3 of the cheap Hasbro lightsabers once Episode I merchandise hit the discount racks, but I don't know if I have any left. Pretty sure most of them (a coupel friends bought some too) were destroyed when we went out to a park one night and beat the poo out of each other with them.
  7. What's wrong with Banpresto... they've made so many fun games. Like G-Generation, Super Robot Wars and Battle Soccer (true only the first game is a "gundam game" but they all have gundams in them). I ment their 3D games like CCA and Getter Robo for the PSOne. I thought CCA was rather enjoyable for the time period it was released, I had a bit of fun playing through it. Ultimately, Banpresto/Bandai suffers from the inevitable licensed game problem, where you make a game to cash in on a name rather than the reasons of actually wanting to create a good game. Not to mention, more emphasis is placed on the name of the license selling the game, so the game quality is allowed to be sub-par. Consider the Gundam Vs. series and the recent Macross PS2, both Bandai titles but development was handled by "real" companies (Capcom and Sega, repsectivelt) and both turned out to be the best games for those licenses in years. Hopefully Bandai realizes this, and uses the Namco aquisition as a way to beef up it's video game department and start turn out some genuinely good titles.
  8. I believe Max pulls out a gun that looks remarkably like that out of his cockpit when they abandon his valkyrie during their escape from the Zentraedi. H I dunno...that looks suspiciously like a gunpod from the Takatoku/Bandai Valks... No, Hurin is correct. It's a slightly oversized reproduction of a large rifle Max wielded in the afforementioned episode. Someone who has more TV-based books could probably find line art for it, although I know the lineart was also used in the Robotech RPG.
  9. I hope the irony of posting that on a forum largely dedicated to an obscure anime's toy lines is apparent to you, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. There's nothing wrong with being a nerd, but when you start pointing fingers are people who's actions are ultimately no more reprehensible than your own, it gets sad and pathetic. For all you guys sitting here talking about what a loser he is, at least he's being productive and making something cool... certainly more productive than bitching about him on a message board!
  10. The closest we'll see are the Scud Race and Daytona 2 courses that were included in Outrun2. As fun as Scud Race was, Outrun2 has much better gameplay so I'm perfectly fine with that.
  11. Not to mention other issues like exhaust fumes, just seems dumb. On the other hand, a lot of monster truck events are held in closed stadiums, so... And it'll probably be an oval track too, which is just what we need in the land of internationally-ridiculed motorsports.
  12. I think he's improved a lot since his days of destroying the gorgeous character designs of Kenichi Sonada, but he still has a bland wanna-be kind of style that turns me off. Liefeld seems like he grew up imitating the classic superhero art style, but didn't bother to get any formal training in fundamentals like proportion. Gotta admit he used to have a sweet mullet though, that counts for something.
  13. Hopefully this will impoved Bandai's video games, and not dilute Namco's properties.
  14. The style kind of reminds me of the newer WB super hero cartoons. Different than the usual anime-styled stuff around here, but I like it.
  15. Honestly, I don't feel that bad. If you have the cash for a car like that, you can afford some driving classes and a cheaper car to practice with. Wrecking a mega expensive car (on the track) is the fault of a dumb owner, because they put the car in that position in the first place.
  16. Very different cars, the Mini no doubt handles a lot better and has more of a trendy yuppie appeal to it. Although the Mustang, with it's retro styling probably has it's own trendy yuppie appeal, but still. I'm actually having a time thinking of comparable cars to the Mini, the CivicSi maybe? But that thing looks like a two-door Honda Odyssey. But given the two, I'd definately take the Mustang, and I'm not just saying that in an attempt to get BSU's head to explode. Took a drive through the hills to Napa yesterday and saw a handful of the new Mustang 'verts, and I was impressed. I wouldn't touch a convertible anything, but for what they are they look pretty good. In some ways, the vert does a better job of invoking the original design than the fastback. Kind of like the new Beetle in that respect. EDIT: A7, calling the Mini unreliable and then recommending a Ford!?
  17. Like what? A Miata?
  18. Scions are good cars, for what they're made for. They're really cheap, lots of options, reliable (Toyota... best car manufacturer in the world) and aren't boring or cheap looking like it's competitors from Kia, Chevy, or Ford. Ironically, when I was selling them last year they were usually purchased by older individuals looking for a cheap commuter vehicle, which they're great for. Toyota missed the mark trying to market them as cool kid's cars, largely because the xB and xA were four-doors and underpowered. I think the tC remedied part of that. If I was looking for a new, cheap daily driver I'd probably get one. There's really nothing under $16k that can beat them.
  19. Whatsup with PJ and shorts? I mean, really.
  20. We'll never see an english-language Macross documentery, although a Robotech one would certainly be possible and a lot more applicable to the American anime scene.
  21. Chill dude, I was just asking for an explanation behind the cost raise. Don't need to get all butthurt just because someones asks you to explain yourself.
  22. Flaming Guantlet should start charging money for all these requests, he'd clean up.
  23. My guess is that it will be primarily female players trying to make Johnny Depp-lookalike characters.
  24. Aside from the fact that every convention that has ever existed has offered cheaper prices if you paid up front. For one, MWCon has never been a traditional 'convention,' and two I was just looking for clarification as to why it was more expensive if you didn't pay ahead of time. Just because everyone else does it, doesn't make it logical or right. Anyways, Nick, I can't be of much use planning on the con since I'm in N. CA, but if you need people to help out the day of the con I'd be more than willing to pitch in and get there early to help you guys set up, or whatever else you might need.
  25. SNK is an advantage for the XBox? Cool to have that niche market, but in terms of sales KOF isn't going to do jack squat for the XBox.
