Cutting and fitting to get the shift lever to fit, or are we talking in the transmission tunnel itself?
-
And it's not even well-drawn underage pornography. You guys gotta set your standards higher!

Stop with the conspiracy theories guys, absolutely nothing is even HINTING towards that and everyone's always assuming HG is somehow meddling with the production. Paranoid much?

I hadn't realized it was as easy as bolting newer stuff right in, but that's really cool. The most enviable thing about the classic American cars is that fixing them up and updating is so easy, between putting in newer (more advanced) parts or just easy access to old trim items and whatnot. The best thing about the newer Camaro's is that they tended to fall into the hands of young idiots so often, finding a crashed one with a decent motor isn't hard at all. As my friend told me once, 'The road to hell is lined with wrecked Camaro's from the hands of 16-year olds.'

They managed to pull the C5 (and later the C6) 'vette out of their collective asses so it's not impossible for them. American companies in general just haven't been able to design attractive cars over the last 25 years. The 80's and 90's were particularly dark times for them. It's just recently they've been able to improve their design and engineering. Maybe they've finally realized the Japanese won, and that people who buy American buy them because of habit or old prejudices. 95% of the time, anyways.

I just got a new job, so I'm waiting to see if they're going to schedule me to work the weekend of the con or not. Once I figure that out I'll send in my payment.

I was going to write out a detailed response to your comments, and then I realized you must have seen a different version movie because your impression of it is so far from what actually happened, it's laughable. Honestly, I'm all for people hating on the movie (you have a right to your opinion) but when you complain about motivations and actions that never existed and try to come off as some elitist film critic you're no better than those guys who hate on it just because it's the "cool" thing to do. As for what everyone is saying about seeing it a second time, I totally agree, I enjoyed it a lot more the second time as well. Now I'm just waiting for my buddy to get back from Iraq so I can see it a third time. Poor guy was cussing me when I was telling him about my opening day tickets.

That sonnovabitch! How dare he compromise the vehicle to adhere to federal regulations! The nerve!

They had to have ripped off Parasite Eve with that midchlorian thing. midicholrian, mitochondira, those words sure look alike. Uh, Parasite Eve didn't invent mitochondria. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=mitochondria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondria Video games didn't invent the world.

At least he had the intelligence to leave it mostly as-is and not GM-ify it with a bunch of crappy plastic. Not to mention, resisted the urge to Pontiac the crap out of it... it's probably the most underdesigned Pontiac in the last 15 years. A little too understyled, but that's certainly better than it being on a Aztec-level of poor styling choices.

I really hate having to defend American companies, but the new Z06 and GTO pretty redeem any of GM's dumb ideas in my eyes. Who really misses the Camaro/Firebird? They looked like crap, handled like crap, and had crappy GM interiors. Yeah, the LS1 was an awesome motor but that was the one worthwhile part of those cars. Not to mention GM's feat of completely overhauling Cadillac is probably one of the greatest decisions made by an American auto manufacturer in the last 25 years. 10 years ago Cadillacs were junk and pretty much worthless next to European and Japanese luxury brands, to be purchased only by blue haired old ladies. Now they're a nearly attractive, internationally COMPETITIVE (reviews are saying the STS is as good, if not better, than comparable BMW's) brand.

That's because the only roles Adam West gets anymore is where he DOES play himself.

Sorry, next time I'll try not to point it out. I know how fragile you are. -
Pretty much how I feel. If the car can't stand on it's own and you have to stick a half naked girl on it to get attention, it's not much of a car.
-
The completely unecessary sequels have gone to great lengths to kill whatever style and mood the original movie had, and there's no way an animated movie will improve on it. So instead I'll just close my eyes and keep telling myself "There can be only one."

.... That guy had nothing to do with Stealth. I guess directing a movie doesn't count as involvement, eh? -
Macek didn't buy anything. The rights to Tatsunoko's library were already aquired by HG before Macek was even brought into the company. If you're gonna try to start a flamewar over Robotech, at least get your Robotech facts straight!
-
Nope, I wouldn't say that. I haven't even read teh interview, I was just doing my knee-jerk reaction to the usual misinformation that gets passed around on here.
-
Might be, it's a lot of monotonous work, but I'll trying to crank out some more when I can.
-
Girls in racing? Europe got over that in the 80's.

Much of the bulk of the translating was done by Tatsunoko, not HG. Tatsunoko requested that HG use their translated scripts as much as possible, with minimal editing. Blood? Nudity? It was 1984 and a children's animated TV show, what the hell did you expect? Compare it's dialogue to it's contemporarys and it was far ahead of anything else.

Added some blank lineart for those custom color scheme boys over in Fan Works. Got a few more ideas in store for the site, hopefully I'll get around to following through with 'em!

Seems like every few months people try searching for lineart and have a hard time finding it, to that end I put up a page on my site with all the blanks I have: http://www.yellowlightman.com/macross/omake/lineart/ If anyone can identify the lineart who's creator I don't know, or if you have any other lineart for me to add to the site, please PM me. -
