Trailer For Dead Or Alive The Movie
yellowlightman replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, those chicks aren't hot enough. But really, could it be much worse than the Street Fighter movie? -
Their substancial loss of the XBox was fairly well documented, and I wouldn't expect the situation to be much different with the 360. It's not about providing a better value, it's about under selling competition and eventually becoming the dominant force in the industry. MS wants to destroy Sony's hold on the video game industry and they're willing to burn through a fair amount of cash to do so. MS and Sony both have huge amounts of cash, so they can do things like that. Nintendo doesn't, and coincidentally enough Nintendo has just about the best business plan in the industry. They're not top dog, but they make plenty of money.

Well, aside from Halo none of those titles were launch titles so it's a little unfair to criticize the 360 for not having that killer app yet. In the last 10 years only two systems have had amazing launch titles, and that would be the XBox (Halo) and the Nintendo 64 (Mario 64).

Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero are both getting solid reviews. Frankly, it'd almost be worth the money just to play Halo 2 on a proper controller.

I don't think having tons of Skylines, Silvias and 180SX's constitutes Nissan as the "king" of sports car manufacturers. I suppose Honda is the sports car king here in America? Did you learn about real sports car enthusiasts from The Fast & The Furious? There's a lot more to cars than winning lame street races.

There's a MazdaSpeed6 on the way. AWD, turbocharged... going up against the Legacy.

There's a couple copies of it on eBay right now, one for only $1 (no manual, though).

No, they made them look like early PS2 games on purpose.

The Chronicles Of Narnia Super Thread

I grew up watching the BBC miniseries version, so I'm wondering how I'll like this new big-budget version. Definately excited to see it though. -
Yes. Although isn't aren't Mazda6's a bit more than $20k? My Mom recently bought a 4cyl automatic hatchback Mazda6, and despite the anemic engine and wussbox transmission it's a great car. Gas milage isn't great, but it drives and looks a hell of a lot better than the competition.

I got a chance to play a little Mario Kart DS last night, as a couple of my friends have it. I was really impressed by how good it looks on the DS, and although I'm not a big Mario Kart fan it seems to be a pretty cool game. I just hope they improve the online functionality in future DS games, tas I've heard Mario Kart's is rather clunky.

PSP Official Discussion thread.

Releasing ports of old games on the PSP isn't a good way to respond to the DS' software dominance. Although I find it pretty ironic that a system that is so emulator-friendly gets all these old ports... why pay for what you can get for free, right? -

Here's something goofy from Nintendo's official forums:

I've never understood the worship that surrounds the GT-R. Are they good cars? Yes. Are they as amazing as everyone makes them out to be? I don't think so. Every rice boy and his mother pulls the GT-R argument out whenever faced with an "overpriced" exotic, but the truth is that there is more to a car than pure performance and no amount of money savings or better value makes up for the fact that the GT-R is still a Nissan. Nissans are the antithesis of cool, they're boring and about as exciting as a day spent at an old folks' home. Winning a street race with an exotic is such an improbable and silly way to judge a car, and honestly even if you do roll up and embarrass that dude in the Ferrari or Porsche everyone watching will be a hell of a lot more interested in the Ferrari or Porsche because... it's a Ferrari or Porsche. Point is, you can stuff a gigantic motor in an Astrovan and make it embarrass exotics. The exotics still have a value that none of the low-cost high-performance cars can match.

That's a lot of American muscle cars for a movie that's supposed to take place in Japan and feature drifting...

Not exactly. CNN reported a couple of weeks ago that Toyota is bringing in the Yaris to the U.S.. Right now, it's available in Canada. 345014[/snapback] When the Echo was discontinued, it was because of Toyota starting the Scion line and the two cars pretty much fulfilled the exact same purpose. Whatever Toyota is doing now is pretty much irrelevant, as the Scion xB and xA were the direct replacements for the Echo... simple as that. Funny thing about the Scion line is for all the money they've spent on selling the brand as bip and cool... 95% of all the Scions I sold whiel working at a Toyota/Scion dealership were to older (35-55) people looking to buy a low-cost, reliable and fuel efficient commuter car.

Yeah, these cars are far from original looking. The Fusion's front end wants to be a Cadillac, the Milan's headlights look like they belong on an Accord and the rear quarter panel seems to have borrowed some lines from Volvo's S40. Granted, they look a hell of a lot better than the suppository-shaped cars they're replacing but their "inspiration" for design is pretty obvious.

I've gotten to episode 9 or so and given up. Densha is such an unlikable wussbag loser, Hermes has absolutely no personality and most of the secondary characters just get on my nerves. Matsunaga is pretty hilarious though.
