1. What? Considering Lambo spent over 35 years making crappy cars that served no other purpose other than to say "hey, I've got a lot of money look at my sweet Lambo," I'd call that "commercialized." Not to mention the fact that Lambo is pulling the retro BS with the new Miura.
2. Shhhhh. Don't ruin the Porsche by mentioning ugly Lambos.
3. "Historical reality," like how it was the kid's fault their country was at war and they died from starvation? Gimme a break. Good job missing the point of the movie, though. I bet you hated Schindler's List too, because it was the Jew's fault they had so much money and brought the Holocaust upon themselves.
4. Chuck Russell, the writer/director of this soon-to-be-amazing film was the executive producer of Collateral. ...
5. Probably because The Fast and the Furious is a better movie than any of the post-Goldeneye Bond movies?
6. All anime sucks. Go read a book.
7. It should work in American wall sockets, the difference in voltage between the US and Japan is only 10volts, and I've used plenty of devices from both countries (JP laptop, JP hone, US camera, US GBA, etc) with no problems.
8. Yeah, but then you'd have to live in a state like Florida or Colorado.
9. Uh, unless he lives in a town where police officers are blind that hodo is a dead giveaway. The red color doesn't help much either. As for that crashed Enzo, turns out it belonged to the CEO of failed gamestartup Gizmondo. http://www.thelocal.se/article.php?ID=3108&date=20060222
10. Probably has something to do with anime being a medium aimed at CHILDREN?
11. Keeping in mind the large modding community for XBox's, I think that the relatively few numbers of PS2's that are modded (or attempted to be modded) are pretty inconsequential. I don't have any data on the broken PS2 debate, but I will say that Sony makes notoriously bad consumer electronics and my limited edition Z Gundam PS2 has a tendency to make music skip in certain games. If/when that system breaks, I'm not going to be too happy... I still haven't heard a decnt argument for the excitement over the PS3. You can call the PS2 a success because of it's huge library, but all things equal Sony makes inferior systems. So when launch time comes around and the launch titles are as unappealing as ever, what makes you want to buy a PS3? The "it's gonna have the most games" excuse is a cop out, since market dominance goes in cycles. Tell someone in 1995 that Nintendo would be in third place and they'd look at you like you were crazy.
12. Wouldn't it have been easier to just pull the calipers off rather than paint them on the car?
13. Togo, stop throwing around the fanboyism argument when you've admitted you own nothing but a PS2. If there's a fanboy around here, it's you.
14. I pretty much can't stand any anime made after the late 90's, but a lot of the 90's stuff was junk too. The only exception to this is GiTS: SAC, but I'm not super crazy about it. Part of it is that I'm just jaded, I've seen a lot of anime and been around fandom for a long time and new ideas don't pop up very often. Garbage like Gundam SEED is a perfect example of the repetitive and unoriginal state of the current anime industry.
15. I'm sorry, but how does a system that sold over 100 million units considered a disappointment? By what reasoning? I know I know, we are on an anime discussion board, but we are all older here, can we please leave the fanboy-ism at the door, please? 372075 I'm talking about disapointment from a gamers perspective. It shipped with an, poorly designed controller for starters. A d-pad that was worthless for any extreme use (shooters are unplayable on it). Along with a lack of triggers (making racing games pretty much worthless), as well as poorly placed analog sticks (pressing both towards the center results in thumbs hitting, which is a pain). Furthermore, it was identical to the Dual Shock that shipped with the PS1 (save for the pressure sensitive buttons-- which were a joke), which was a pretty good example of Sony's general lazy attitude. It was a pain to program for and it took over two years for any decent games to be released for the system. It was the most inferior game of the generation and it was precisely because of fanboyism that it succeeded where others failed, "You're gonna buy a Dreamcast? Just wait for a PS2 it's way better." The hype surrounding the PS2 was filled with lots of big promises which never materialized. As hardware-- it was a disapointment. It's saving grace was that it had lots of games, it wasn't a good system per se. Don't bother calling me a fanboy, since my golden PS2 sits right next to my TV. My fundamental problem is that the PS2 was a lazy machine which succeeded because of the success of the first Playstation. The PS3 looks to be little better, considering the horrific controller and high price point.
16. Uk Resistance has had the decency to set up a wiki documenting all of Sony's lies regarding the PS3 here: http://wikihost.org/wikis/ukres/programm/g...me=sonyps3_lies I'm curious as to who here is genuinely excited about the PS3? Considering the PS2 was a pretty big disapointment and Sony is about as out of touch with the consumer as Nintendo is, I'm curious... why is anyone looking forward to the PS3?
17. You should turn on your signatures for a second to see my sig, and realize how hilarious that statement is. Agreed.
18. There's a difference betwene putting a half-page of dumb sci-fi quotes in your sig and "cruising" in a sweet ride. Signatures can be useful, like Mr March's where he advertises the Macross DVD cases. As a service to the Macross community, that seems like a usefull thing to have as well as people that advertise their own stores or what not. The absurdity comes when people put tons of crap in their sig that no one cares about anyways.
19. I hate to join the whine brigade here, but I've gotta ask-- whats the stance on the lengths of signatures? I know images in signatures are prohibited, but as far as I can tell there isn't a limit to how many lines of text a member can have in their signature. Some members have incredibly long signature files which end up taking up a large amount of verticle space, which becomes ridiculous when they only post one or two line posts. Most other forums I frequent have a limit (something sensible, around 5 lines or so) so I figured I'd throw out this idea.
20. I don't think your signature is big enough. Could you make it bigger?
21. At first I got excited because I assumed Milla Jovivich + that guy from Nikita = a Luc Besson movie, but apparently not. Looks more interesting than Aeon Flux, but not by much.
22. I'm speechless, as that is so fraking awesome and it boggles my mind to have a car so wrecklessly powerful. I want a replica now more than ever... 371115 For the same dangerous thrills, try getting a first gen MR2. Those are pretty sketchy in corners.
23. Damn, that sounds like it might work. Now I just need to decide if the DS Lite is worth getting for the decent D-pad, given how horrible the D-pad is on the original DS.
24. Pretty sure they're closer to around 2200lbs, which is why they're so notoriously hard to drive.
25. I'm curious how well the DS' rather low resolution will handle websites. A cool idea though.
