  1. Might want to check out the first OAV series first. They've got a bit more going on in them than the early TV series, and after eight episodes you'll really start to appreciate the characters. That's a good jumping off point to start into the TV series.
  2. Why not wait a few months and see if it actually manages to deliver on all the hype? *cough*N64*cough*Gamecube*cough*
  3. Your link doesnt seem to work, but here's one that does: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england...ire/5366422.stm Says he's improving, at least.
  4. Any chance we could get a scan of some of those pages? I'd be curious to see them.
  5. Kinda like Macross Plus?
  6. The name Otacon comes from the American anime convention Otakon, oddly enough.
  7. In Firefox and Opera you can manually increase the viewable font size of a page.
  8. I predict this movie will be Sub-Par.
  9. Given that it's supposed to be the first part of a new series/movie/whatever thats a given. Uh, how is SC not anime? It's animated by the same people that do most Japanese productions (hint: they're not Japanese). Furthermore, there's plenty of stuff that comes out of Japan that looks like utter garbage so that's a ridicuous argument. Oh right, if it's not Japanese it's not good. Uh, wasn't Macross Plus kinda well known for breaking away from the hand-drawn norm of anime of the day? What with all the CG and all... Sentinels designs appeared in Zillion because Tatsunoko had put a lot of effort into designing all sorts of crap for The Sentinels and when the series went bust they had a lot of unused designs they needed to put to use. Had nothing to do with a Japanese conspiracy of stealing Sentinels for their own use. Although the Japanese working on The Sentinels WE'RE against using the characters from the Macross Saga, there were different reasons. One was that if word got out there was some kind of Macross sequel Japanese fans would go crazy. That's why the Macross characters look SO different in The Sentinels. The second reason is that the general practice in Japanese animation is to use new characters for new series...
  10. Yeah, it's nice to see AnimEigo isn't completely dead in the water. It seems like they've found their niche with very long, slightly obscure anime titles.
  11. HG didn't want to renew the comics license, simple as that. This was around the time that RT3000 was on the horizon and so I guess they wanted to keep their options open. Something similar happened with Palladium Books, in that HG refused to approve any new manuscripts and would only agree to renew the license for an excessive fee. The Antarctic Press comics were by the far the worst Robotech comics to date. It was pretty clear the writers didn't have much of a grasp on the Robotech universe. I liked Academy Comics run the best, what they lacked in production values they made up for in spirit and definately felt like they were for fans, by fans.
  12. Areaseven please don't quote images, its a waste of space.
  13. let it die let it die please please please let highlander die
  14. Patlabor wasn't Oshii's creation.
  15. Or just so that we don't have to hear voice actors murdering Japanese names.
  16. Uh, maybe because it was decided by fan votes? In a situation like that results are going to be more indicative of most popular anime.
  17. Alternatively you could just buy a Mazda3, which is pretty much the same car, but looks better and will have a better resale value.
  18. The more important question is if I expected MW members to not sound like stupidly obsessed paranoid fruitcakes. (I don't, anymore)
  19. Sounds like it'd be easy to get off with a razor blade, try that.
  20. This is probably the dumbest thread we've had in recent memory.
  21. Two reasons; one is that those that have them probably wouldn't be willing to let their Tread be subjected to the recast process and the other one is that it's a crappy, ugly little toy.
  22. Really? Which ones? 421648[/snapback] Well, for one the cpatain of the Battlecruisers is a dead ringer for Cap. Global.
  23. Both series are overrated and I stopped caring about them long ago.
  24. I didn't think the violence itself was too Hollywood-ized, people weren't running around guns blazing or anything. What was over the top was the deaths, people's blood getting splattered on walls, grenades shot through chests, poo like that.
