  1. Turns out this isn't quite as amazing as it sounds. It's on YouTube and it's pretty awful.
  2. Alfa. And yeah, it's nice to see that Alfa Romeo is continuing it's tradition of making the most beautiful cars in their class.
  3. He didn't pass the required physical, so he's yet to go up.
  4. Whaaaaaat, you don't consider Gamestop employees a valid source? 512 isn't much, but when dealing with older games I suppose it'll be okay. But if the Virtual Console gets TG16 or Sega CD games, that space won't go too far.
  5. Whenever I look at the price tag of the 360 or PS3 I think, "Damn, that could buy me a lot of expensive Saturn shooters."
  6. Lenore wasn't done by Jhonen Vasquez.
  7. Not Gran Turismo HD. That one's closer to $800.
  8. Bridges of Madison County? So what's the relation between this film and the Japanese one? The same story from different perspectives or what?
  9. It should be pretty obvious these aren't licensed. Also: Holy sh*t, old news Batman!
  10. That's assuming Sony can put together a decent online service. Xbox Live is proven at this point, and no one knows if Sony will be able to deliver on it's promises regarding it's online service.
  11. That's what the DOAX series is for, anyways...
  12. The mecha designs are ugly, but it's certainly more creativity than I've seen come out of MW in a while.
  13. If they do that I sincerely hope they clean the game up a bit. The frame rate and muddy graphics coudl do for an improvement. Not to mention I'm not even sure if they could get it on the Wii, since it's a Rare property and everything.
  14. You're so right, I mean, it's not like we're talking about console systems or anything, are we?
  15. First person shooters.
  16. I bought it in anticipation of Robotech: Crystal Dreams, and I'm still kinda bummed that never came out. I haven't touched my N64 in years, though. The graphics really don't hold up to well, and for the life of me I can't go back to playing Goldeneye on that controller after getting used to the Xbox controller for FPS games.
  17. Not really, when you consider that the analog sticks were just stuck on the bottom of the regular PS pad, there isn't much logic to it, save for Sony trying to not alter their original design. The simple truth is seperated analog sticks (not placed right next to each other) simpyl work better for a wider variety of games.
  18. Uh, what gamer phobia would that be? A phobia of decent controllers? No gamer in his right mind is going to support the Dual Shock design over a newer, more progressive design like the Xbox's. The problem with the boomerang wasn't the fact that it looked goofy, the problem was that the buttons and thumb sticks were still in the same stupid places as they were in the original dual shock. The DS' buttons are shallow and don't feel very good. The d-pad is garbage for any movement-intensive game. The shoulder buttons are shallow and there are no triggers. The thumb sticks are close to each other and cause your thumbs to bump into each other in FPS games. It isn't the gamer's fault the new controller for the PS3 sucks, it's Sony's fault for being so pig-headed and full of themselves they think they still knwo what gamers want.
  19. I'm still waiting to hear the response on PSU. I loved PSO, although admittedly I only played it split screen, but I put a lot of hours into it with friends.
  20. Is there any gameplay footage of GT HD? Otherwise I'm calling shennanigans.
  21. I don't buy the need for space argument in the least. Development studios are lazy. The Gamecube showed modern disc games didn't need load times, but lazy developers keep abusing that. Sony is more concerned with turning the PS3 into a more multipurpose set-top box, like what Ken said in his speech at TGS; something between a console and a PC. PC functionality with console simplicity of interface. Bottom line is that Sony seems intent on innovating (if you could call it that) with a broad media focus. MS seems intent on innovating with a focus on games and gamers' interactions.
  22. F*ck Palladium, I mean honestly. Kevin is a lame-brained micro-manager who still thinks his system is somewhere near playable. He refuses to give the system a proper overhaul (hell, he refuses to playtest new material) and as such this "new" edition of Robotech will be a minor upgrade if anything. The same crappy out of date rules will stay intact. I would have wished that a company like DP9 (although they don't do licenses anymore) or a smaller company using a system like Fuzion would do a new release. A release with decent rules, accurate stats and layout that acknowledged the desktop publishing revolution of 15 years ago. Wasn't Palladium supposed to be bankrupt anyways? If only...
  23. As someone who isn't a huge fan of Nintendo's first party games, I found the GC to be pretty disapointing. At launch a lot of the hype made it look like Nintendo might learn from some of the mistakes of the N64, but inevitably the GC turned out to be a first-party centric system with and unbalanced library. My GC disapeared in the summer of 2004 while I was out of the country, and despite being upset at the monetary loss I wasn't upset about the loss of the system. I can't think of any game released since then I actually wanted to play I couldn't get for the Xbox. My point was don't believe the hype, and unless you're prepared for a library largely supported by Nintendo (one game a month, weeeee), wait and see if other companies can actually deliver for the Wii.
  24. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=67794 Sony TGS Keynote by Ken Kutaragi. Not only does it make him sound like a blathering idiot, it also makes the PS3 look even more unappealing as Kenny seems intent on making it something halfway between a game console and a PC. PC functionality with game system ease of use. I'm consistently amazed at how every new announcement by Sony makes the 360 look better and better.
  25. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153775 All I gotta say about that is L-O-L. Further proof of how desperately Sony needs to pull it's head out of it's ass if it wants to dominate this next generation. I suppose the upside is that GT is a poo game, so it's not that much of a loss.
