My bad, for some reason I didn't read the "Japanese system" part of the original post. -

I don't remember off hand, but I'm guessing the two Xbox systems were released in the US before Japan? -
The last day of Anime Expo was a Tuesday, which would have made it difficult for people with jobs to come.

I've never understood people arguing about how unhonorable cheats are. I mean, it's a video game.. it's designed to be entertaining. If you can still be entertained with cheats, whats the big problem?

New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid
yellowlightman replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes, just like how when the Simpsons is animated in Korea, they animate it for a Korean script. -
It would be a mistake, but that doesn't mean Palladium wouldn't do it. Look at their "revised" RIFTS edition. There's enough Robotech RPG/Palladium fanboys that would snap up reprints despite the fact their utter garbage.

Fry's sells import games? Whats the markup like? -
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-r-49-e...oss-70-2mf.html Play-Asia is probably the best overseas retailer. The game isn't cheap, though.

Looks like they'll be starting with Shadow Chronicles, so it might actually be some new material. I had assumed they'd just reprint the original books and half ass the whole thing in typical Paladium fashion.

Considering how few people have read the original Bond novels, let alone sat through the more painful Moore or Dalton films, I find it amusing how many people (not just on this forum) have such strong opinions about how the character of Bond should be portrayed. At this point, the character has received so many different portrayals I'm not sure there is a "real" Bond.

The Nintendo Wii Thread!!

Well, obviously you were angry (or at least disapointed) because you made multiple posts about your "progress" in tracking down a Wii. Obviously you have a bit invested in the venture. My point is that launches suck as much for the employees as for the customers. As much as you guys were cranky for having to sit out in the cold one morning (of your own free Wiill no less), the employee was no doubt cranky because for the last month he's had tons of people ask him about the Wii and PS3. It's not worth your time to go on a witch hunt after this guy, especially since he didn't cause you any real harm, and he certainly wasn't the reason you didn't get a Wii. Your time is better spent elsewhere, be that having your Mom drive you around looking for a Wii or something else, I don't know. -

As someone who works with customers 4 days a week, I can certainly testify to that. I've had my fair share of bad employee experiences at EB/Gamestop, but given what a complete pain in the ass peopel were (and no doubt are) regarding the PS3 and Wii, I have a hard time condemning an employee for being "cranky." -

Hikuro, you're just angry because you didn't get a Wii and you're trying to take it out on the guy. Realize that it's just a stupid video game system and get over it. Is it really worth spending all this time an effort to try and get some guy making minimum wage sacked from his job? -

Making shooting games for the worst D-pad in the industry... awesome. -
I tried for the Amazon deal, as did a number of my friends. They sold out FAST, although one of my friends got one. Kinda came down to luck as to when you hit reload and when the page actually loaded... it was slammed at the top of the hour. I ended up buying an Xbox 360 anyways, though. $340 shipped for a premium system from the Dell store.

Honestly, I'd say if you have no intention of racing the car... leave the Evo as it is. It's already a power house and an amazing performance car, why mess with (factory) perfection?

Front wheel drive cars can't drift, so unless that work is "buy another car" you're SOL.

I have yet to see the movie (probably will this week), but I gotta say you guys crack me up. All this talk about it "not being a Bond movie" or "Craig is a bad Bond." I can't help but remember the fact that nearly all Bond movies are fundamentally crappy films. Same thing with most of the Bond actors. If it wasn't for the nostalgia and legacy appreciation of the Bond films, they would be viewed for what they really are: campy, often times downright dumb and almost inevtiably always mediocre. If Casino Royale is really a change from that, that's a good thing, because it means it might not suck.

What game on the GC really needs a flightstick anyways?

Problem is there's no such thing as a "good" Delorean. Unless you mean a GTO.

It was a pretty laid back affair, so I'm guessing most people were too busy hanging out and chatting to go around and take pictures. My excuse is that I only got to spend an hour or two there before I had to rush back to Anime Expo for a panel.

I think it was less of a "battle" and more Egan Loo coming in and correcting a whole bunch of his posts for accuracy. That said, he wasn't doing the translating himself (I believe he had a friend or was hiring someone to do it) so asking him might be a moot point anyways. Another option might be to have members make a donation towards getting oa book or two translated. Probably out of the realm of possibility given MW's general apathy towards ambitious projects, but if the chance arose I'd certainly kick in some money to help it along. Smaller donations of $5-$10 certainly wouldn't be much of a strain for MW'ers either, but I have no idea how much such a translation would cost.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really loathe video game narratives. I can tolerate stuff like Yakuza, but by and large games trying to pass themselves off as epic stories piss me off with crappy writing and development. If I want a good story I'll pick up a novel. Although I might be biased, as much of my gameplay interests focus on shooters, so...
