The Nintendo Wii Thread!!
yellowlightman replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Considering you can count the number of "good" games coming out for the Wii on one hand, I'd say it's probably a little premature for anyone to label the Wii as the winner of this generation. -
Engage Planet KISSDUM. Coming 2007

Technically, Kawamori didn't have anything to do with 0083 aside from mecha design. -
Anyone have the GitS Blu-ray edition yet?
yellowlightman replied to isamu's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It was a very ugly movie. More coherent than the first GitS movie, though. -

I beat GOW on casual and got about halfway through on hardcore and got bored and stopped playing. It's a pretty gun game, but my opinion keeps changing. As fun as it can be online, it has a lot of weird issues and balance problems that prevents it from really good. If anything, it's mostly frustrating peppered with moments of brilliance. My friend and I were playing it a lot on split-screen, but eventually we just ended up going back to Halo 2.

Probably has something to do with the fact it's the most iconic giant robot in the world, eh? And Graham, there's still been a stupid amount of VF-1 toys so don't act like it's not the same thing.

The PlayStation 3 Thread!

I was hoping it'd be pics of a PS3 tossed in the mud. :-/ -
Yeah, but it's C5 non-Z06, a very very lame car.

6 Years of the Macross World Forums!
yellowlightman replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Movies and TV Series
Pretty certain I joined up early '03, January or February. Got back into Macross around that time because of Macross Zero. I was into Macross (and Robotech) back in the early days of the forum, but never joined up because of the reputation MW had for being filled with apefaces. -
Gundam's finally getting the Lego treatment

Er, no, I was referring to the previous comment about transformation never being an issue when building Gundams. -

Those dumb Katoki feet look horrible on that lego custom. These Megablocks kits look okay but really I can think of other toys that'd look a lot better for the money. These really aren't all that impressive. -
Considering the radar screen was real (not special effects) then yeah, I'd say it could be done. Certainly couldn't be easy though.

The Nintendo Wii Thread!!

Twilight Princess is the exact same game for the GC and Wii, the only difference being the resolution and the control scheme. That said, what Nintendo is doing to the GC release of Twilight Princess is really, really lame. -

Nintendo gets all the respect they need when they make tons of money. -
I totally agree, Mann records great commentary tracks. They always do a good job illustrating what an amazing filmmkaer he is, with the amount of background research and prep work put into his films. Almost as ridiculous as how often the more striking segments of his films tend to be based on real events that actually happened, i.e. the coffee shop scene in Heat.

Evangelion live action movie trailer

Whoever did that needs to learn how to write. Stregh? -
It only adds about 7 minutes of footage. A boat race in the beginning with a proper credits sequence, which helps to set up what happens at the club a bit more. Also another scene later on helps to set up what happens to Trudy later on. Other than that, just a few added shots (nothing big) and the music for the last 30 minutes is all switched around. Not a huge change by any means, just makes a few things clearer. I've recently watched all of season one (just started season two), and I gotta say that I don't buy the hatred of 'hard-core' Vice fans at all. The movie has SO MANY similarities to the TV show, albeit not very obvious or pronounced ones... It really does feel just like a modern episode of Miami Vice. The only thing different are the actors/characters (Farrel's Crockett is very different from Johnson's) and the obvious changes of the time (music, fashion). It's paced like an episode, it's shot like an episode, and has lots of little tie-ins with the TV show. Frankly, I love them both.

I really couldn't give a crap what Daniel Craig thinks Bond should do or how he should act-- he's an actor, not a writer/producer/director and as such doesn't have much creative control over the franchise. That said, Craig is the best Bond since Connery (and in many ways I prefer him to Connery) so as long as they keep making awesome movies with him in it, I don't care what he says.

Yeah, i saw the trailer tonight on one of the HD TV's at work (I work at a pub restuarant), looked absolutely amazing.

Looks like the Halo 3 page is getting slammed. I was able to log in, but couldn't finish the registration. I'll give it another shot after work tonight. Since getting my 360 I've been playing a lot of Phantasy Star Universe, not exactly a 'next gen' game but still a lot of fun if you enjoyed the original PSO. Also been playing the Lost Planet multiplayer demo as well. When I first played the original LP demo I was less than impressed, but after some more playtime I've really warmed up to the game. The multiplayer is pretty interesting, the Halo influence is obvious, but it has a style and pace all it's own. Really looking forward to picking it up come January. Been late to jump on the Gears of War bandwagon, but I just ordered a copy from Buy.com. $45 after shipping, so I couldn't say no.
