The PlayStation 3 Thread!
yellowlightman replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I love driving, and have done some amateur level racing before. But GT tries so hard to be "realistic" that it just saps any fun out of it. I can understand the appeal of collecting the hundreds of cars, because that's like porn for car guys but the actual gameplay isn't a fun experience. -

The problem is that it'll probably play like every other Gran Turismo and be about as fun as having your fingernails pulled. -

Considering it hasnt had any screens or updates released in a year, I think it's pretty safe to assume it's been cancelled. -
Yes, because Mad Max invented the 'revenge' genre.

As mediocre as the demo is, I know I'd enjoy it a lot more if I wasn't stuck with the lame Wing Zero. In terms of gameplay it feels like just about every other musou clone, but hey, it's Gundam and I'll probably end up buying it. -
Anyone know how tall the metal composite Psycho is going to be?

I watched some of the MGS4 gameplay, but after he used his camo suit to "blend" into the floor and a PMC didn't see him from like four feet away I turned it off. -
Cool blog, I just added a link to you on my site.

A good recently discounted 360 game is Chromehounds, which Gamestop is selling for $20 new. It's pretty much pure mecha porn, and although it takes a while to get into the customization has a lot more depth than Armored Core or Front Mission. Haven't given the online part a run yet, although I kind of doubt there are many people playing it online still. -

I remember the toy, but not the series it came from. Although the skull looks really familiar. -

Bomberman Live is fun, but ridiculously buggy. The occasional lag doesn't help, but I saw a couple games with the revenge carts (whatever those things are called that go around the edge of the level after you die) flying through the level or just turning invisible. Still fun stuff. -

It has more to do with the lessening importance of Japan as a market. Granted, the PS3 is outselling the 360 in Japan but worldwide the 360 still has a nice lead and ultimately companies stand a better chance of making money aiming for the larger global install base. -

Katamari isn't a strategy game, nor is it really all that weird. You're farting nuts, though. -
What's wrong with hollywood
yellowlightman replied to kanedaestes's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There are still plenty of excellent, mature movies made for adults in Hollywood. The problem you guys have is that movies with aliens and lots of violence don't get rated R anymore because Hollywood has realized kids like those things too. Kids watching a movie = more money. -

Identical pictures are up on IGN's 360 site: http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/894/894217/imgs_1.html Probably just an f' up, IGN isn't exactly known for their consistency or quality reporting. -

Considering that both Katamari games received good reviews and has been pretty much universally liked, I'd say you're either trying to hate on it to be different... or you've fallen head over heels into your Sony fanboyism (Bladestorm? Gimme a break...). -

I'm not, as Smiley424's link points out Beautiful Katamari was cancelled for the PS3. Bummer. -

Beautiful Katamari was cancelled for the PS3, right now it's only been confirmed for the 360 although it's likely it will be coming out on the Wii. -

Double checked wikipedia; first edition of V:tM came out in '91, CCG in '94. -

Pretty sure the WoD RPG books predated the CCG. -

I stumbled home last night and managed to hook up my 360 without destroying it (yay, beer) and promptly downloaded the new Halo 3 trailer. I wasn't too impressed and then proceeded to scream at friends online for an hour before passing out. But! After rewatching it today, sober, I must say I'm way more impressed. It looks good, and it looks FUN. Big poo blowing up all over the place and general crazyness.
