  1. If anything, Halo 3 should have been shorter. A lot of the levels were too long for their own good, like the warthog escape at the end. After about five minutes it's like "Okay... this is just getting boring."
  2. Releasing Senko no Ronde for $60 was a dumb idea, but with the price drop to $10 hopefully more people will pick it up. The system can be a bit daunting, so I'd recommend people checking out these two links: http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/sen...enkonoronde.htm http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=10142
  3. I think it's kind of amusing how popular the Turn A has become, considering how incredibly negatively fans reacted to it when it was first unveiled. Then again, with shows like SEED and 00 and their utterly uninspired designs, I suppose fans clamoring for something that breaks the mold isn't that surprising.
  4. I'm not much of an RPG person anyways (closest I've played recently would be... Yakuza?), but Jade Empire looks really awful. The visual design was atrocious, very obviously a white guy's poor impression of Chinese style and it totally failed. As for the game. Not to mention a number of friends said the system wasn't great, so I gave it a pass even though I kind of liked KOTOR. Omega Five is supposedly coming out this week for XBLA, and considering it got really good reviews from the trade shows, it might be Live Arcade's first decent shooter. Crossing my fingers that it'll be good.
  5. Yeeeeeah, the map pack was a disappointment. Especially compared to the extra maps for Halo 2, these really pale in comparison. Hell, pretty much all the maps in Halo 3 don't stand up to Halo 2's.
  6. So Metal Slug 3 is pretty much a disappointment. Censored blood (what is this, 1995?), way too much slow down and shoddy control makes for a game that's just not worth the money. Would still be a bargain for 400MS points, but for 800 it needed to be better than this.
  7. Looks more reminiscent of Yamato or Gundam, to me.
  8. Despite some really cool parts, Battle Chronicle is still an overall poo game. Been playing the first Zeon 0083 game for quite some time and can't get past it. Would be nice if it would actually lock on to more than one unit (while chasing the GP01 it wont let me switch to any other MS). The analog nub thing is stupid, as it forces you to take your thumb off the d-pad thus leaving you immobile. Not to mention the fact you can't injure an enemy while they're on the ground? That's REALLY stupid. Made sense in the Vs. series as it was intended primarily as a fighting game, but in a single player focused game it's just frustrating. Bleh. Just glad I didn't pay for it.

  11. I'd hardly call that a solid source, but everyone know's it's going to happen anyways, so...
  12. We'll be waiting with baited breath.
  13. There used to be a pretty lively fan art community here a couple of years ago, unfortunately it looks like most of our resident artists have moved on.
  14. Yeah, a blonde in a uniform must be a Nazi.
  15. Anybody tried Warriors of Arkadia? Its a pretty dumb game, mindless Gauntlet-style hack in slash with very little depth and some odd bugs. But! I've spent a couple nights playing it with a friend and it's pretty enjoyable, in a bad-game kinda way. Helps when you can laugh at the random bugs and glitches. Also, Metal Slug 3 comes out this Wednesday on XBLA. Not a huge Metal Slug fan, but I don't own any version of it so I'll picking it up.
  16. Both FF Online and Phantasy Star Universe charge additional fees beyond the regular XBL costs.
  17. Might try tasking it back to where you bought it. Same thing happened to my friend with a copy of Gears of War and Gamestop replaced it for him.
  18. Let us know how it works out for you. I usually wear a medium, and a Cospa medium fits me just fine (wearing one right now in fact). I recently ordered a jacket from them and changed my order from a medium to a large, but it's a little bigger than I'd like.
  19. Been playing a bit of Battle Chronicle lately and I'm really glad I didn't pay for it. The control is awful, and suffers from a lot more than just the PSP's limited button layout. Camera control sucks and there are times when you can't even target the tanks shooting at you, wtf? Getting stuck on edges of buildings and cliffs doesn't help either. The variety of Mobile Suits is really cool, but I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to keep playing.
  20. Not sure if that really counts as a spoiler.
  21. Now that you've seen it, it might be worthwhile to do some reading on the movie (both on the themes in the film itself and the backstory behind the production) and try rewatching it. Shortly after I first saw Blade Runner and disliked it I was given a copy of BFI's Modern Film Classics' volume on Blade Runner and it helped me appreciate the film a lot more. Repeated viewings helped as well. On the other hand, maybe you just don't like it? Nothing wrong with that, either.
  22. I really can't be buying any new toys right now, but damn that Helldiver looks sweet.
  23. If anyone has ever read William Gibson's Neuromancer, Blade Runner is kind of similar. I don't mean in the commonly used cyberpunk parallels (Blade Runner isn't cyberpunk), but in the sense that a lot of the work goes towards creating this really amazing world setting. Blade Runner's story is on the simple side, which bothered me when I first saw it too, but when you pay attention to this complete world that's been imagined and you kind of realize that's a lot of the appeal. Blade Runner could be about Deckard buying groceries and eating all noodles for all I care, the world and the visual detail is what makes it amazing.
  24. Cospa stuff is generally pretty high quality. I have a sweatshirt from them that's lasted me over three years and shows barely any signs of wear. For tshirts I wear a medium, and I've found Cospa's medium fits me fine.
