  1. Downside of the Best Buy warranty is that you'll have to return your hard drive as well, which really sucks.
  2. I've started to get back into CoD4 after a month or two hiatus. The Hardcore Deathmatch mode is a lot of fun. No hud, more weapon damage, wait times before respawns... It's way better than the regular gameplay mode. And as much as I wanted to love Halo 3 and play it as much as I played Halo 2 (which was a LOT), too many little things conspired against me. For one, the melee system is broken and just frustrating as hell. That said, I think my #2 weapon of killing is melee so maybe I don't have too much of a right to complain. The levels also really suck compared to Halo 2's, Bungie can throw all their fancy map testing they want but very few Halo 3 maps have matched awesome Halo 2 levels like Ascension or Lockout. Halo 3's Narrows might be the worst Halo map of all time.
  3. I have no problem with shorter games. A polished 5-10 hour game thats well done enough that I'll want to play it again is much better than some 30-40 hour epic game.
  4. Hopefully it won't be as boring and awful as the Animatrix was, but it's a nifty idea.
  5. Because people might still buy it AFTER the initial release date. What a dumb thing to get upset about. A few years ago we couldnt get any demos, and now we're complaining they don't release them far enough in advance? Yeesh.
  6. After release people were setting their language to Chinese and then doing Lone Wolf games to get achievments. No idea if theyre still doing that, though.
  7. The movie doesnt need such an intro for two reasons: 1) The viewer is most likely already familiar with the story. 2) If not, the reasons can be explained pretty quickly.
  8. So you say it's not a term used here, and then you say thats what people use here to describe the activity. It's popular usage, which pretty much counts.
  9. Except unlike PDZero the original Perfect Dark was actually GOOD. Even today there are things that PD did well that modern FPS games don't. Unfortunately, going back and playing it on the N64 sucks because of the technical issues.
  10. Goldeneye would be cool, but Perfect Dark would be way, way better. Goldeneye works fine on the N64, Perfect Dark doesn't. Having it playable with a good frame rate would be really nice.
  11. You're the king of retarded threads. Congrats.
  12. Not to mention the fact that it's completely unnecessary.
  13. Saying you can handle 60 player battles is one thing. Having 60 players play together without lag is another.
  14. Hahaha, nthey wouldn't be perfect at all. Virtual On's controls make some sense because they're robots. Putting distinctively machine -like controls onto a person is unnecessary and silly. Kind of like saying they should make a game based on The Flash using a racing game engine, because he runs really fast,
  15. That's a bummer, guess I'll wait until these particular drivers are updated again. I just realized I have a nice Sanwa stick sitting around I might be able to swap in without too much effort. At least soldering the wires would be easy, looking at the inside mounting might be an issue.
  16. Oooooh, is that one of GM's new driver-less cars?
  17. The Star Wars thing is a bit lame, but not as lame as Spawn or a generic Todd McFarlane craptacular original design. But I agree an entirely Star Wars fighter would make a bit more sense and probably keep fans happier.
  18. I have yet to get my MacBook to recognize it (although it'll recognize regular controllers just fine with the 360 drivers-- very strange), but I used my PS2 Virtua Stick with a USB adaptor for MAME and such anyways. Anybody download Omega Five? Easily one of the better XBLA releases in recent memory. Japanese style shooting with Geometry Wars control, very interesting combination of two kinds of shooter. Downsides are the graphics make the bullets a bit hard to see, and the close view angle means that the screen fills up fast, but not necessarily in a good 'bullet hell' kind of way.
  19. This is probably the best thread ever.
  20. So, I'm blaming JBO for this... Picked up a Hori Fighting Stick today on a whim, seems pretty nifty so far. Helps out Metal Slug 3's control issues a LOT.
  21. Its drawn by Kazuhisa Kondo. You can check out some more of his designs at the MAHQ: http://www.mahq.net/Mecha/gundam/kondo/index.htm Weird stuff, but I like it.
  22. Nifty painting Steve, might want to tone done the background though. The lens flare is a bit cheesy and the stars are a bit too much. Looking forward to seeing more of your work though, as this place is suffering from a lack of actual fan work lately. And uh, check out my website too? It's just as awesome as Mr March's :-P
  23. Uh, that's been going on for a lot longer than just 2008.
  24. Radiant Silvergun was for the Saturn. It also goes for about $200, so it'd be a lot more interesting to get on the 360 instead of Ikaruga which is pretty easy to come by.
  25. I would be more excited about Ikaruga if it was 1.) Radiant Silvergun instead or 2.) I had an arcade stick or Saturn pad to hook up to my 360. As it is, precision shooter games with the 360 controller doesn't sound like much fun. For those reasons I'm more excited about Rez HD.
