I'm 19, and now that I'm an "adult" all my family gets me are boring presents. I got a bunch of desk supplies and a file organizer from my aunt and uncle for christmas last year. My mom though gets madthat she can't buy me toys anymore (or at least cheap ones) so she'll buy me LEGOs or Chevron cars whenever she can...

Oh god... Blood was horrible. Simply horrible. One of my friends bought it for me not reading any reviews, and I never let him hear the end of it. But it was bad enough I could see it working as an American movie. Vampires are kinda overdone though.

Very nice custom, really great job on the painting. I'm hoping to do a VF-1D custom in the future as well... You used Tamiya Desert Yellow for the orangish color? Was that enamel or acrylic?

There's definately a few around here on Macross World. Personally I've managed to get my girlfriend to watch the first two episodes of Macross Zero, but I dunno how big of a deal this is since she grew up watching anime. <_

Yeah, my friend and I walked out of the theatre like "WTF? That movie was too good to star a pro-wrestler." It definately helped The Rock had SWS and Walken in the movie, took some of the burden off of him to "carry" the entire film. I coudl see him as Conan easy, but the Terminator seems weird. Howabout that monologue by Walken about the peopel sneaking into his room and stealing his teeth? That was hilarious, it was like he was doing a praody of himself.

It's not a stab. More like a respectful reference joke. Especially since Macross shared alot of it's crew with Orguss. In the first few episodes of Orguss there's a picture of Misa that pops up for a split second, and supposedly in Southern Cross there's a Minmay poster (again, more shared crew).

Walking down the street today on my way to the post office some guy walked past me saying something about saving my soul and handed me a small booklet with one of Chick's cartoons in it. His comics are good for a laugh because they're ridiculous, but I feel sorry for anybody that actually thinks such things. As for the role-playing game thing, I've been gaming since I was 9. My Dad was a long time role-player. When I was a young teenager RPG books were the only things my parents could get me to read, and not only that I learned a lot of vocabulary from them , (how many 12 year olds knwo what 'melee' means?). AND they force kids to use their imagination instead of sitting in front of the TV all day. RPGs did nothing but good for me as a kid, and so I tend to get angry when people like Chick throw aroudn all sorts of false accusations about them. If anything, they're way better than reading some biased backwards-thinking drivel about salvation.

Anybody seen The Rundown yet with The Rock? Pretty good movie, similar in style to the older Arnie comedy/action movies. But teh Rock comes off as a nicer guy and more of an underdog. I mention it because Arnie makes a cameo near the beginning of the movie.

Has anyone been able to download the video yet? If anyone has, I can upload it to my server for us MW'ers that have been unable to see it. But I still haven't been able to get it to download.

Keep in mind Kawamori also doesn't have as much control over this game as he has previous games. Egan Loo said he'll be watching the development of it, but won't be directly involved in the story.

Did you base this design off the Alaska Base Valks?

I think both the original MSG series and Char's Counterattack ended well (technically CC wasn't a series, but it was the final part of a large story arc). Howabout Calvin & Hobbes? Not a TV series, but that was a really good ending I thought. Still have it cut out and mounted under my clear plastic cutting/spill cover on my hobby desk. Don't forget to do the followup thread: "What series finale doesn't stand the test of time?" Answer: Bubblegum Crisis. Such... a let down. Premature cancellations suck.

I doubt all four Megazone 23 fanboys would maul you. Seriously, it isn't that popular of a series or even that well known in fact. So you'd probably either get "Huh? Who's that supposed to be?" or "Nice job."

Pretty sure one of the members around here had a Lego Macross 7 build, you could try searching for it on the old message board.

I've been trying on and off for the past few days and still can't get the video to load past the "Ruliweb" intro screen, where it just stops.

Cool they look good, textures are a little blurry (was gonan make an N64 joke, but held off ) certainly better than I could do. And car mods are more fun anyways.

I'm guessing that since the manga are pretty old, they might just reuse the characters in a new story? But I'd certainly prefer them using the original story, especially since I never completed my collection of the old Eclipse comics.

Wait, there's more to Robotech than just The Macross Saga!? I totally agree with BRD, someday we can hope... Hell, even ANTARCTIC did a Southern Cross story. Only one though.. Same with Academy, and the closest Malibu got was The Malcontent's Uprising.

Vostok, where those for a game mod or just for fun?

Was the Command Gundam an original design? Never seen it before, looks like something out of the alterntive universe Gundam's though. But uh, less feathers and girly stuff.
