  1. I'm guessing it is the ASN version, makes more sense since they're in Hong Kong right? NCS regularly stocks both the ASN and JPN version of certain games, but they tell you which version you're ordering. BTW, Lik Sang recently got sued by Nintendo and they've since reformed and become a "reputable" importer (i.e. no black market copying devices). A friend ordered from there once before and everything arrived okay, but I'd still recommend NCS.
  2. Seriously, that model kit looks awesome, it's a shame to see you leave the hobby. I think the contrasting grays looks better than the "official" Low Vis, it's much more interesting.
  3. Yeah, I hadn't even noticed it until you guys mentioned it. I think it'd look kinda goofy in fighter mode, almost like the Valk had a beak or something.
  4. Okay, sounds fun. Here's my list: One Year War - Dom Zeta Gundam - Gundam Mk II ZZ Gundam - Jamru Fin (though technically thats a Mobile Armor...) Char's Counterattack - Jagd Doga Gundam F91 - RXR-44 Guntank V Gundam - Zoloat G-Saviour - Bugu G Gundam - Um, the Sailor Moon Gundam Gundam W - Hated Wing, don't like feathers on my mecha Gundam X - They're all too ugly Turn A Gundam - Sumo Gundam SEED - Mobius Zero (though that isn't even a Mobile Suit)
  5. Mildred, yellowlightman, It's a mark of how focused and tunnel-vision'ed on the milestone of getting thing done we've gotten while working on it that we honestly hadn't thought at all yet beyond getting copies for our greedy ol' selves. We never really even considered that there might be interest from the rest of MW and/or the fanbase. If you guys are serious, I'm sure we'd be more than happy to discuss it and see what we come up with.... Awesome, thanks for the consideration. I haven't personally used CafePress for posters, but their t-shirts are so-so. Biggest problem is that they charge a large "base" fee (i.e. their cut along with the costs). T-shirts for instance are $14, and that's without the individual seller adding on a few more bucks for his profit. But it seems like it might be easier than getting them professionally printed up.
  6. Never subscribed to Newtype, looked through a few at teh newstands and wasn't too impressed. Fundamentally the problem is that all english-language anime magazines are pretty bad. Might be too old for some people, but did anyone ever read Anime UK/FX? That was a great magazine.
  7. Play-Asia is a good site, although it's located overseas (Hong Kong) so the shipping costs are a bit more. ordered from there before and it arrived pretty quick. DONT BUY FROM BUY-RITE GAMES. They're bastards. If you're looking for more info on that check out http://www.boycottbuyritegames.com/ which is a site created by a fellow MW'er. Toys N Joys always seemed overpriced to me. I'd second Abomz' recommendation for NCS, they're really great.
  8. That box is sick. Did you do those custom 1/55ths yourself and whats the smaller VF-1D? A 1/100th?
  9. $55 seems like a lot for a bootleg, but I guess it is pretty big. Anyone have any idea how much these are going for in the US? I'll have to check out Chinatown next weekend.
  10. I think I rented an episode or two of this back in the day, wasn't too impressed. Kind of interested to see it only because Tatsunoko used unused Southern Cross/RT2: The Sentinels designs n the series, supposedly.
  11. Yup happens to me to, although I only tested it in Mozilla. Very interesting...
  12. What's with the huge SAMPLE font on the front cover? Does that mean it's not the finalized cover art? Personally......they could do a LOT better than that. (I was talking about the front....not the back) Yeah, I'm guessing that the cover design isn't finalized yet.
  13. I don't know what crawled up your ass, or why you're trying to pick a fight with me when I was trying be helpful. In fact, the majority of the people you're ridiculling and harassing were trying to be helpful. Your current behavior isn't going to looked upon favorably, and we were trying to alert you to that fact. If you don't want are help, that's your business. As for not being a "die hard" Macross fan, you're quite mistaken. Take a look at my sig. What's that? A MACROSS site that I spend my time and effort on? Oh, and look... a website where I donate my bandwidth (which I pay for, BTW) so that my fellow Macross fans can have a play to display their artwork online. That's not a "die hard" Macross fan? Just because some of us (actually, MOST of us) have better things to do than post 35 messages in a day about how much Harmony Gold sucks, doesn't mean we aren't Macross fans. Stop been an eliteist, because you certainly won't win any friends over that way.
  14. He said the initial concept wasn't as bad per se. Yeesh, compile your responses into one or two posts, no need to make 5 posts in a row.
  15. Sean... how may times do I have to tell you to chew properly when you eat? I'm gonna echo Mildred's question about whether or not the poster will be available for non-contributors, this thing is shaping up to be very cool.
  16. Glad to see you're still working on this game, far too many fan-made games start off good and development ends abruptly when peopel get bored with it. It's nice to see you're sticking with it.
  17. Hah, for a second I thought that said "a big tin of that gummy caramel porn." All I want is a nice new digital camera, and money for my trip to Japan this summer. Trying to figure out a polite way of telling my relatives instead of school supplies and books it'd be much fmore useful for me if they just wrote a check. Hrmm... that sounds kinda impolite.
  18. I saw a clip of "Robotech 3000" and man, I was pissed! You're not winning anybody over with your ranting and raving. Take the advice of others in the Robotech 3000 thread and present decent arguments other than just "Grr, HG sucks! Robotech fans are morons!" or else you'll soon become obnoxious.

    1:60 GBP-1 !?

Check out the Masamune Shirow thread in the Other Anime & SciFi section for some discussion about those Appleseed toys.
  20. Sorry for not replying sooner, been busy this week so Ihaven't been able to keep my normal watchful eye over the Fan Creations site. For future reference, I'm pretty lenient about non-Macross fanwork (but that'll be fthe first stuff deleted if need be) but other items are a no-no. Thanks guys.
  21. How much do PS2s go for now in Japan? The only PS2 games I actually care about I might as well import, so I'm definately thinking of going the Japanese PS2 route.
  22. Uhhh...I wouldn't associate the words "real artists" with Sentinels at all. That's just a complete oxymoron like "Robotech purist." Don't embarrass yourself, the designs and animation for The Sentinels were done by the same people that worked on Macross and Southern Cross. Not "Real" artists, huh?
  23. Looks like they were "inspired" by Dream Pod 9's Gear Krieg game.
  24. Damn, those decals look really nice. Guess I know what I'll be doing with one of my spare VF-1S's...
  25. Definately the helmet from the Matchbox Scott Bernard figure.
