  1. Not Macross at all... but what the hell? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...29&category=790
  2. Just saw this article on Gamespot, looks like earlier comments about there being no Nintendo takeover of Bandai might be false. Article is here: http://www.gamespot.com/all/news/news_6083620.html Personally I like Nintendo, so I wouldn't mind if they did get a hold of Bandai. It'd really help out there consoles, and we might just see the next Macross game on the Gamecube.
  3. All of the Front Missions have had basically the same Wanzers ('cept maybe GunHazard). I don't mind, Front Mission is a consistent world, and it doesn't make sense for it to pull a Gundam and design a dozen new mecha for every new series.
  4. There's enough sections already, we don't need to break up the Other Anime & Scifi section. Especailly because (as AgentOne said) this is a Macross board first and foremost.
  5. I don't think there's been any translation work done on those games, so I doubt you'd find anything. The PC-98 is a pretty unknown/onscure piece of hardware so it hasn't had as much focus as things like the SNES.
  6. Ring of Red was done by the original Front Mission design team. I wonder if Square brought them back for this next one? RoR looked cool, but I heard it had long load times and sloooooow battles. Like, FM2 slow.
  7. Magicbox screws up a lot, thats what you get when over half your news is translated with Babelfish. I used to be really into Front Mission, I have that old model kit book they released aroudn the time of the SNES original and some manga tankubon with Front Mission stories in it. Hoping Front Mission 4 will bring back the bigger battles of 1 and 2, 3's battles were too small... though the graphics were really nice.
  8. D'oh! I totally forgot to link to the actual page. I was spending too much time trying to download that pictureof Elsa, but I guess the Magicbox is making it difficult for people to steal their "Work," ironic since all of their information is stolen without a source given. I hadn't heard about a FM1,2,3 re-release here... Guess thats a good reason to buy a PS2. Too bad we don't get Front Mission Alternative, that's the only FM game Ihave yet to play.
  9. They are when you throw in the fact that Macross II music is used in 7. I guess Kawamori had never heard that either, right? He just stumbled across the music and decided to use it, not knowing where it came from. Riiight. With that logic, since M7 had music from MPlus as well... Macross 7 was Kawamori's version of Macross Plus? The fact that it has Macross II's music doesn't mean anything. More than likely they ran out of time/money for extra BGM so they used other music they alreayd had the rights to (read: Macross II), and did Kawamori direct each episode of Macross 7? The use of Macross II music probably has more to do with the directors and other production staff rather than Kawamori himself. It's much more likely that he heard the music from Macross II and than Macross 7. Sorry, the usage of Macross II music in Macross 7 isn't anywhere near sufficient evidence to suggest that Macross 7 was Kawamori's version of Macross II.
  10. How is that denial? I disagree a lot with Keith, but on this one I gotta say he's right. There's no evidence that Macross 7 was Kawamori's version of Macross II. Similarities aren't evidence. You guys criticize Keith for being dilusional while you yourself have no evidence to back up your claims. And not only has Kawamori stated on numerous occasions that he's never seen Macross II, he's also stated he rarely watches any other anime so that he can stay creative and original without being influenced by other's peoples opinions.
  11. The Magicbox just posted five pages of information and screenshots about the game, comes out next month in Japan. Looks awesome.. I like how they really improved the graphics while keeping the same looking menus... Very comforting for a long-time Front Mission player. Anyone heard if this is gonna be picked up for an American release? And doesn't Elsa look like Britney Spears?
  12. Of course! It's all about learning the female form, nothing perverted. Wonder how many I'd be able to get back through customs...
  13. I'm surprised this thread has gone this long without mention of... The Chunky One
  14. There is no need for that... Didn't you see Demolition Man!!!? And there goes the toilet paper vs. three shells argument too.
  15. I think he's a wrestler. No idea why he has a comic book shop though.
  16. *blinks* Nooo... It's the one made by ATARI. You know, before companies like SSI with their fancy-pants STRATEGY games existed. Ahhh... Okay. Man, those are some sweet pixels.
  17. One of the first OAVs U ever saw after Bubblegum Crisis. It was... Enjoyable enough as a 14 year old I guess, I doubt I'd be able to stand it now. Though I do remember it having a catchy theme song.
  18. Is that the same Warlords made by SSI? I loved that game on my Uncle's old Mac.
  19. I was gonna pick up a few things, but I rethought doing so thanks to the ridiculous shipping rates (4,000¥ for a HCM? I might as buy one full priced for that much...).
  20. You'd recommend it then? By friend's debating about whether to get this game or not, and asked for my opinion so i had no idea what to tell him.
  21. Those are pretty cool, good find. Something about a diorama always makes a model look better, much more interesting than just putting a model on a shelf.
  22. Well, either Egan Loo might not have the time (theres some other stuff thats not in the Compendium), or it might not be official. Either way, it's not that big of a deal.
  23. The point is the argument has no real value, and will only result in people getting angry and insulting each other. There's no point in stirring up trouble, if you want to do that go somewhere else.
  24. same goes for the SW movies. Yeah, but the SW movies have a much larger fanbase of people who like them. Not to mention all the people that'll see it no matter what... because it's Star Wars. Star Wars has had 30 years to build up a fan group that will eat any crap Lucas gives to them, the Matrix didn't have that lead-in time.
  25. It's embaressing, but I've only seen the first two episodes. I got a fansub of the first two episodes before it had been released here and wasn't too impressed. Felt like your average giant robot vs. giant monsters TV show so i passed, who would've known a few years later it would have been so damn popular.
