  1. Mine would have to be a 1/100 Tatsunoko VF-1A, I got it (er... stole it, but the guy deserved it!) in 2nd grade and I've had it ever since. It had no arms when I got it and one of it's legs have since falled off but it's the reason I'm a Macross fan so I gotta say that it's my favorite.
  2. Best way to get rid of pop ups is upgrading to a real browser, ditch IE for Opera or Mozilla and kiss pop-ups good bye. Who all has seen the series? I've only seen the LA Hero dubs (which didn't go very far, less than halfway through the series I think). They were'nt horrible for an early 90's dub, but nothing great. Wish someone would pick it up and translate it, especially since there's some minor retro releases going on.
  3. I caught the end of a short piece on the upcoming movie on E or soemthing like that, the only thing I remember is that it's directed by Jonathan Frakes (I think), who people might remember as Riker from Star Trek: TNG.
  4. Do you know of the Orguss Shrine>>>>>>>? The address is, http://orguss.freeservers.com/ for those that don't know. I love Orguss designs, it's like they took all the ideas and concepts from Macross on turned them on their side, very cool.
  5. I saw it on the news this morning, didn't feel a thing though (I'm just outside Sacramento, so too far away I guess...). Sucks that some of us MW'ers had our collections thrown around, but it seems liek the quake was fairly harmless and no real damage was done... and that's a good thing. Makes me think about how people from the east coast and midwest always tell me about how dangerous they think California is because of earthquakes, but that's a real exaggeration. I've lived here for almost 20 years and only felt one or two earthquakes (small ones). I guess it helps that I don't live in the Bay Area (though I lived in Northridge for a year and a half) but seriously, California's earthquakes are overrated. Er... Except the big ones, but those are pretty damn uncommon.
  6. Not to mention paying an extra $9/month in addition to the XBox live fee... Thats pretty ridiculous. Either way if I do end up getting it I'll be grabbing the Gamecube game. Figure I'll give the single player mode a try and maybe do some multi-player with friends before I plonk down all the cash for the Broadband Adaptor, monthly fee, and keyboard.
  7. I remember a "demo" video I had of this game, used to watch it a fair amount because it had clisp from the original show... which was pretty cool since this was before Gundam was widely available and I had yet to find fansubs. I had the Journeyman game too, it was utter crap.
  8. Just caught part of it on MTV, the dubbing was painfully horrible.
  9. What exactly is Volcano High? I saw soem previews, and I'm guessing it was just a Hong Kong movie dubbed by some 'big name' actors?
  10. I'm considering picking up PSO Episodes I&II, but I'm not sure yet. Anyone on here play or played the game before? Comments or criticisms? Just trying to figure out what I'd be getting into...
  11. You can find reissues for $20-25, and you wont have to deal with filling all those hideous panel lines. It's cool to see another bootleg easily available, I just wish it wasn't so hideous.
  12. Those are definately illegal or at least grey-area. The 100-in-1 game idea reeks of all the crappy pirate carts that came out of Hong Kong, and I'd guessing these things have a similar origin. Not to the mention the fact that Nintendo is notoriously stingy with their properties and games, and unless it has NINTENDO on it nice and big it's doubtful that it's licensed.
  13. What exactly do "hydraulics" do on a plane? Either way, that seems damn impressive. Why the hell was a French journalist hanging out with a bunch of killers, shouldn't he be uh... reporting those guys? What some people do for a story...
  14. Yeah, and also illegal. As if those 50-in-1 game peripherals are legal... <_<
  15. Best one.
  16. I put 20 because my birthday is in two months (close enough!). Interesting that no one has answered 20 and under yet...
  17. I think a lot of Macross fans are interested in aviation, either because of or as a result of them being Macross fans. Macross does have a stronger flying and aviation element than just about any other anime, so it's pretty natural to see the spill over in terms of interests.
  18. Er, shouldn't these polls be in the Other Anime & Sci-Fi section? Seems pretty out of place for the Toys section...
  19. I agree that making the main site more accesible from the forums as well as improving the layout woudl help more peopel visit the main site, but I still don't see it happening. It's a shame because Macross World is easily one of the best Macross sites out there... just needs to be updated and regularly maintained. That woudl certainly help more people "remember" the main site.
  20. A shame that, especially since the DC is still getting new release.
  21. Whats with that head?
  22. It was released in 1993, before Studio Nue took control of the license again with Macross Plus and 7.
  23. Er, how hard is it to just type in macrossworld.com? I doubt Shawn will be redoing the main site any time soon, he seems to be busy with other things. Definately a shame since the main site is so out of date (and people wonder why so many people forget about it...).
  24. I had a problem hearing sound as well. Read the Magic Engine FAQ, it explains why audio might not work. What I ended up doing was plugging in headphones to my CD drive's output directly and that got some of the sound. Magic Engine lacks a number of features, ironic given the fact that it's one of the few shareware emulators.
  25. Never played the PS2 version, but the DC version was pretty damn close to the arcade... Go figure. And I didn't think that space levels were that bad. A little annoying, but nothing impossible or even that frustrating.
