  1. Any Godzilla movie. (er, except that U.S. one)
  2. In the Go Go flashback scene the gross nerd asks her what she thinks of Ferraris, and she says they're Italian trash.
  3. The girls will love that.
  4. No, it isn't. Youu coudl be drifting downhill in the pouring rain and with the lack of friction it'd still be slower than grip driving. Pull your head out of Initial D, drifting is not faster. No amount of gravity will make up for the amount of extra friction and lack of control drifiting creates. Read this thread: http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?s=&t...threadid=229208. Get a few pages into it, there's a lot of GOOD information about people who actually know what they're talking about. The downhill drifiting idea comes up as well, and gets shot down. No, he hasn't proven that he can drift faster. Watch any of his videos; when he races seriously he does grip driving. Why? Because grip is faster.
  5. That's a creepy picture BoB. Well done.
  6. That's neat. Damn.. I keep trying to get rid of my PS2 and swear off games forever. Now I have to get rid of it and get a NEW ONE. Hey Sean, you feel like lugging a Japanese one for me during your trip to Japan??? I might be able to, we'll have to see where I am and how much room I have. I was planning on bringing myself one home too, so it wouldn't be too hard to grab another. Do you still have a PS2? If you do, you can get a swap disc and slide card, which should allow you to play teh game and that'd be way cheaper than buying a whole Japanese system.
  7. Looks like this is the closest thing yet, and it's still a ways away. Patching a CD will prove difficult, but it's not impossible.
  8. Hey Sebastian if you see my friend Christian he'll tell you Initial D is not impossible its a reality. Im close to that level while there is a Kid who is 16 years old drifting in the D1 drifiting competitions. I don't think the lack of realism comes from the idea of a kid driving like that, but things like an AE86 beating two RX-7s, and MR2, a Miata, etc. THAT's pretty unrealistic. Not to say it isn't a good car, but it's not at that level. HAve you seen D1 Grand prix? A Trueno kicked everyone's ass even Jerry and his Silivia S13 D1 isn't real racing, it's just a performance. Which brings up another problem with Initial D, in that it presents drift as an efficient way to race, which it isn't. With the exception of WRC, drifting will provide no benefits in real racing. It looks cool, but it is not faster than "grip" driving. D1 and drifitng in general is the rythmic gymnastics of motorsports. The idea that you'll be faster by drifitng is unfounded, if nothing else look at professional and amateur racing. F1 doesn't drift, GT1 doesn't drift, NASCAR doesn't drift, Autocross (which is very similar to the tight corners of Initial D) doesn't drift... The only motorsport where drifiting is actual beneficial and used is WRC.
  9. I saw this a few years ago, and I loved it. It's nice to know that despite the Hong Kong film industry's spiral into mediocrity, they can still turn out a good movie every now and then.

  11. I seem to remember him reviewing it in the Other Anime & Sci Fi section, do a search and it might turn up.

    Q-rau

Tooling costs aside, Takara is gonna sell way more MPC Prime's then Yamato will sell 1/48ths. They can sell it for less of a profit and still make more money.
  13. http://www.the-magicbox.com/game122503e.shtml Pictures of the upcoming GiTS:SAC game for the PS2. It looks pretty good, hopefully it'll be as good or better as the first GiTS game, although this one looks to be played in a third-person no-fuchikoma mode.
  14. Thats how steriodlology.com does it. Yeah, but unlike steroidology our mods are all alive and we might actually care if one of them passed away. <_<
  15. I was gonan dig up the old Shirow Appreciation Thread but i figured I might as well ask this here. Does anyone know the origin of the name 'Briaeos?' I know a lot of Appleseed has references to Greek mythology and whatnot, so I'm wondering if it had an origin in that or if it was just a name Shirow came up with himself.
  16. Don't forget that disliking Macross 7 also shows how COOL you are. Because when you're you're too insecure with your own sexuality, you gotta be BADASS and hate singing dudes and all sorts of other "fruityness." At least half the people out there hate Macross 7 just because it's the "cool" thing to do.
  17. Have they been licensed yet? if so, you might have a hard time finding them. Animesuki.com didn't them listed, and they have just about everything current on there....
  18. Just video games and all of the Chronicles of Narnia books (never read 'em).
  19. I remember watching this miniseries years ago, but I can't remember much about the actual series. For those thinking about reading the book, read Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa. It's waaaaay better, and doesn't change around the names of actual people like Shogun did. Not to mention that Miyamoto Musashi was an actual person (although the stories in the book are largely fictional or high romanticized).
  20. Interesting idea, where'd the plastic knife come from?
  21. I hate everybody. I don't think thats healthy.
  22. Was Direct X even around back then? Microsoft hadn't even begun selling Windows in 1982. I'm kinda guessing it's just a coincidence given the simple shape of the logo...
  23. Nope. Looks good Valkyrie, any idea when you might begin offering them and for what kidn of price? I'm guess you'll be getting a bunch of orders for these. Keep up the good work and thanks for all these recasts!
  24. I vaguely remember that, I think it was either drawn for the Disciples of Zor online fanclub or a Robotech parody site whose I can't remember. I wish I still had my picture archives from back in the day, but those are long gone. As for Keith.... he just trolled the RTMB.
