  1. Cross overs and versus art is fine. If you want an account, PM me with the user name you want. You dont have to put art into it immediately, but if you leave it sitting around empty for too long I might delete it. But probably won't. er... just PM me for an account. Seriously, I'm pretty laid back about it so unless you post stuff groissly offtopic or abuse the service... I don't care much.
  2. Slightly off topic, but where are you going? (If you can share it, that is)
  3. Well, whether or not it has a reason within the story... It wouldn't have existed in reality, and that's what always bugged me about Kenshin.
  4. I had yet to see anything from this, and all this talk of CG made me a little worried. AFter seeingt his shots, I'm pretty relieved. While cell-shading still isn't as good as regular 2D animation, this loosk promising. Briaeos looks great, Deunan... doesn't look much liek Deunan though (glad to see they got her armor right though) and those ships don't look very Appleseed-y. Definately looking forward to this though, I hope it holds up.
  5. EDIT: Oops, posted in the wrong thread. Dunno how that happened.
  6. I'm thinking that's the point. The entire purpose of the reverse-blade is to allow normal sword-wielding techniques without the typical lethal results. The sharp side isn't meant to be used very often, more as a last resort. So if it takes a little more effort to use it for it's intended purpose, it's a bit of a moot point if you're in a situation where you've got to use it in the first place. Normal sword wielding techniques are intended to kill. Japanese sword techniques especially are meant for quick, clean kills without too much elaborate sword play. Not to mention being hit by even the dull side is gonna result in serious injury if not death anyways. If he had wanted to use a weapon that he could protect himself with and not kill people, something like a staff would make much more sense. As it is, the reverse blade idea is just pointless and has no basis in reason. But I guess it is an anime series.
  7. What's a whm? My friend just got FFXI a few weeks ago so I've been hearing him talk about, but my FFXI lexicon is still rather limited.
  8. Yeah, if his Japanese wife had moved to Los Angeles with him, he would have just ended up cheating on her anyway. All the same, what he did was pretty messed up. But I think we've all established he isn't exactly and outstanding citizen, or even a decent person.
  9. Having a non-lethal sword is pretty dumb, swords are designed to kill. If you want to just disarm somebody or not kill someone, using a weapon isn't a very good idea, especially not a sword. Wooden swords are fairly lethal, a hit to the head can put someone down pretty easily, not to mention breaking bones if used in other areas.
  10. What all has he claimed to do with the CIA? I've heard little bits and pieces but nothing with any real detail.
  11. Yeah, but you can't brag about a down payment on a house on a message board. So whats the point?
  12. Yup, I know how you feel. Especially, Seagal, whom despite being a total assclown in real life, is fairly amusing to watch on TV for free when nothing else is on. That said, I'll be waiting to see JCVD's new movie on TNT in oh... 4-5 years?
  13. That's crazy, but I dunno what you'd do with it. Seems likes after the "shock" factor of having a bigass AT-ST in your living room, it might wear off. I'd rather have that giant wooden mech from Battletech that guy built for his kids.
  14. I remember watching some MTV documentery about some MTV Spring Break special or whatever back in the late 80's/early 90's and they were talking about JCVD. He went on camera as a guest star or whatever, and someone mentioned his wife and we started going on and on about how much he loved her, etc. Turns out later that night some of the crew saw him making out with some college girl in the back seat of his car. Classy guy. <_<
  15. I'm a connosieur of the 'Chunky Misa' hentai doujinshi, and my Macross purchases are limited to those. I don't have that big of a collection, most a little of this and a little of that. A few Bandai reissues and various other toys, some art books, a few CDs (Macross Plus and Macross 7), a few DVDs, a coupel video games and a few models. I don't have the extra cash to spend too much on my collection, so I mostly just buy the things I really want and don't worry too much about getting "everything." But I don't have any Macross hentai doujinshi, sadly to say.
  16. I'd always wanted to see this movie too, but it was one of those films I'd forgotten about. I guess I should check it out.
  17. yeah, but didn't Seagal beat up his that chick from wierd science (his ex-wife)?? That sounds familiar. He also moved to Japan (before starring in films) and studied at an Aikido dojo, where he met the head sensei's daughter and they eventually got married. They saved up money to move back to the States so he could start his film career but he took the money and left his wife (and child) in Japan and got remarried. He's an a-hole. Oh, and the whole "I'm a peaceful Buddhist" but he carries a handgun with him at all time.
  18. The search for best catchphrase begins...
  19. Didn't JCVD do a movie with Rob Schneider? That's a good sign your career as a film star is ending, whe n you have Rob Schenider as a supporting character. Stallone certainly hasn't done anything good since Judge Dredd...
  20. Yes, it is. But aisde from the fact that Macross World has a No Politics policy, this forum is for the discussion of Macross. At teh very least you coudl have put it in Other Anime & Sci-fi, which is as close to an off topic as we get here.
  21. When I was younger, I used to love all those crappy movies. Steven Seagal, despite being an absolute shithead and total dirtbag, hypocrite and all-round horrible person made some semi-entertaining movies. Above the Law was pretty cool to watch, and the fact he did Aikido rather than the generic Karate/Tae Kwon Do that everyone else did made him kind of unique in that aspect. I used to watch Walker: Texas Ranger almost every week in grade school, despite how cheesy it was. Norris himself is a pretty interesting guy, my aunt bought me one of his books a couple of years ago. Plus he supposedly was friends with Bruce Lee, thats some points right there. JCVD (haha ) was always my least favorite, his shtick seemed the less likeable of the three guys. Those Bloodsport (was it Bloodpsort? one of his shitty HK-based movies) was filmed in The Walled City, which gets a lot of cool points. Frankly, most modern day Jet Li and Jackie Chan movies aren't that much better. Maybe in terms of production values, but Jet Li is so overrated and Jackie Chan needs to stop doing shitty Rushhour movies.
  22. Those look really slick, only thting I could find fault with is the rather boring and simple font used for the Valkyrie's name... Something a little more dynamic would have made it look even better.
  23. probably because of the sexual scenes.... But there's been tons of hentai and sexual anime released...
  24. I'm currently on a 56k so I can't check out the trailer, but why is this OAV so controversial? I've never heard of it before.
  25. Those look really good, even that old one is impressive. I liek the battle damage on that Tomahawk. Well done man, and welcome to Macross World.
