  1. Ah, now we know what the "R" in "YF-1R" stands for - Relativity! For a second there I thought you were gonan say "retarded." Theoretically, if they reduced the amount of armor the weight would go down and hence they'd go faster, but I doub't it'd be enough to make a real difference.
  2. I think you mean Monte Carlo, not Malibu. The Malibu's are 4-door only. Oh the things I've learned working at a Chevy dealership... Look at the tarus (no production 2 door) and the intrepid (same) No, I'm talking about the production NASCAR Monte Carlo, basically a Monte Carlo (SS maybe?) plastered with NASCAR stickers. Not the actual NASCAR racing cars. And yeah, I know how they use non-production cars for NASCAR. I guess they forgot the part about them being stock cars, but then again they forgot the part about racing too (ovals suck).

  4. no no no...i just didn't write every single line of dialog what i didn't add was that in their conversation Admiral Hunter could not spare any more variable mecha for the 10th Division so they were left with the nontransformable fighters and Condor Battloids (i guess similar to destroids?) Even still, that reasoning has it's faults. Basically the REF just kept sending these paltry little attack waves against the Invid which continued to get destroyed. Would have been much more prudent to amass all the forces they could on Tirol and then attack (I realize they finally did do this, but even still...). I agree with Effect that Wildstorm is doing these side stories in the wrong way. Making comics starring nothing but main characters from the TV series that cover points that were talked abotu or alluded to in the TV series is a waste. Just because we didn't see what happened, we know what happened. In that respect I think the old Eternity/Academy comics were really good. I loved Invid War; take a few minor characters and expand upon them, that works best for side stories. As a Robotech fan for almost ten years, I'm beginning to seriously wish Harmony Gold had just forgotten about the series. Everything Yune has done has been crap and HG has just jerked the fans around with no decent products or new series. It pains me to say it... But with the way they're handling it, it'd be better to let it just die and live on with the fans.
  5. I looked at all the photos but see no evidence of any removal of armor. They switched from heavy construction paper over to newsprint for the armor. Looks the same, but not as strong.
  6. ...the hell? So for a while the REF/RDF decided to not use Veritechs? Seems like in this case Wildstorm is trying too hard to fit in the unused Mospeada source material at the cost of rationality and plausibility in the actual Robotech continuity. I stopped reading the Robotech comics after Antarctic Press did such a horrible job, looks like Wildstorm is still following in that tradition.
  7. This is so strange... I think I am alone in my appreciation for Van Damme. My roomate liked tin-tin as a kid and when I told him the Van Damme news I thought he would be pumped up. He said casting Van Damme as Tin-Tin would be like casting Dolph Lundgren as Charlie Brown. Pretty much, it's not even so much my dislike for him.. Just that he's totally unsuited for the role. And I have fond movies of the comics from my youth, so it's that whole not wanting to see a treasured comic ruined. I mean, imagine if Arnie starred in a movie about killing doorknobs... You'd be heartbroken.
  8. The real Ford Focus WRC cars have a hard enough time racing and actually winning... they should work on being able to do that before trying they're hand at being robots. A Lancia Statros or Integrale on the other hand...
  9. Would he be fully transformable? Maybe a sort fo Sega Rally 2/Virtual On combo.
  10. Oh... Okay, I get what you're saying. Thing is, I don't think riceboys copy the rally car look per se. The generic plastered with stickers look could attributed to almost any type of motorsport, and most people don't even knwo what teh hell rally is. With the riceboy crowd drag racing and drifting is popular, real motorsports like WRC and DTM aren't very very well known.
  11. Kickass model Ruak, it's nice to see a 3D model of soemthing other than a VF-1 around here. You're really talented, wish you'd post more stuff.
  12. In a lot of ways I prefer better textures to high poly counts, which is probably I still prefer the look of 3 year old Dreamcast games to brand new Playstation games. That model looks great, I can't wait to see the rest. Are you making all those textures from scratch? That's some serious talent, glad you're sharing it with us.
  13. Looks like Geocities isn't letting the page load. If you're looking for some free space, check out my sig. I wanna see your custom! I've got a 1/55th waiting for the same treatment.
  14. Hehe, the funny thing about that is, I could have bought a single TBP each year and still been waiting almost ten years for Appleseed 5.... That's true, if you started reading Appleseed when Book One came out from Eclipse comics in the late 80's, well... That thought is too horrific.
  15. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Please tell me that's just a rumor, how can he play TinTin? He can't act, and TinTin didn't do martial arts. It's like casting Ashton Kutcher to play Martin Luther King jr. That's horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible. TinTin was such a great comic, that comic was my most favorite thing in the world when I was 8 years old. JCVD just took over my 'most hated person' award from Steven Seagal. That no talent assclown needs to get hit by a gas truck. A gas truck... on fire.
  16. All WRC cars look like that, not just the Japanese ones. When you have sponsors paying you millions of dollars to drive around in the dirt, you gotta advertise. The reason you don't see NASCAR street-counterparts trying to be like they're racing brothers is because who want's to drive around with a giant VIAGRA logo or Carrot Top face on the hood of your car? C'mon, even Pontiac driver's have some taste... *ducks*
  17. He was the star of the video game Robotech: Battlecry. If anything he was a Rick Hunter replacement; look at that hair and the fact that he's a major wuss. Sadly, just about all the characters in Battlecry were mor eor less soulless copies of the original Macross cast.
  18. Kojima needs to go make a movie or something, get all that cinematic crap out of his system.
  19. Yes. In my opinion, the Appleseed series is Masamune's best work.... Be prepared to join the crowd waiting for vol. 5, though.... That's why you buy the books verrrrrry sloooooowly. Exo rekindled my love for Shirow and I've been buying all his stuff that I don't have. If you buy a single TPB every 6 months, the wait for Appleseed 5 isn't nearly as painful.
  20. If you get a chance, post that and any other SC stuff you have to the Macross Fanworks... I'd love seeing more.
  21. Dolph is also supposedly starring in the sequel to the Street Fighter movie with, you guessed it, JCVD.
  22. Alex, did you draw that picture? It rocks!
  23. I don't have any dirt on Dolph, so I guess I like him. He's apparently really smart, William Gibson talked a bit about him in his blog. They met on the set of Johnny Mnemonic (Gibson wrote the original short story for that movie, as well as the well-known Neuromancer), and he said not only did Dolph have a really good sense of humor, he was very smart. But that doesn't necessarily translate over to good acting. <_<
  24. Looks like a cool game, I just wish they had decent pictures of the mecha in the game, their screen shots don't show much.
  25. Well, he said trip so I'm hoping it's a happier place than either of those two locations.
