  1. I'd say you guys are over reacting a bit. For one, they're not making any mention of DYRL being part of Robotech in the description. HG is definately making an effort to differentiate between Robotech and Macross, and if you think they're going to release DYRL as a Robotech movie juust because they're making DYRL toys (and not claiming them to be anything but Macross toys) they you're just being paranoid. HG does understand the differences between Macross and Robotech, and they seem to be sure both series can exist seperately. They supported the Animeigo Macross boxed sets and now they're making DYRL toys, neither of which are going to be advertised or branded as Robotech products.
  2. I went to one Toys R Us in Japan back when I was there, but I don't remember all this cool stuff. Granted I was with my host sister and she wasn't exactly patient when it came to looking at giant robots and other 'kids stuff' so I grabbed a 1/10th R/C Skyline and left. I think one of the cooler things about Toys R Us' in Japan is that they stocked a lot of American junk food and candy that you couldn't find anywhere else, from what I remember.
  3. Awwww man, I thought it was going to be a ceramic Mazinger bowl. And I was about to bust out my 7th grade art class clay model of the Invid Regent.
  4. I give you props for trying to be creative and original, but I don't understand what big-chested ladies have to do with the VF-1D. It's just very... odd.
  5. Probably won't get too many pleasant comments from the people here given the general opinion of Robotech, but good luck none the less. There's been a lot of attempts at Macross fan-films over the years, and none of them (to my knowledge) have gotten past the pre-production stage. I hope you can pull it off, it'd be cool to see. Care to tell us about your general ideas for the story or at least the setting? I'm curious.
  6. Awww... I've got a Palm. Looks cool though, nice work.
  7. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Guess I should grab a PS2.
  8. Watch a lot of Barney, eh?
  9. Macross Zero vol. 3.
  10. I've seen that commerical too. I'd say combined with the new Astro Boy TV show, the fact that Astro Boy is also one of the most well known parts of Japanese pop culture, aside from the likes of Godzilla. I don't think a tourism commercial featuring Godzilla would work every well. "Come see Tokyo... Before Godzilla destroys it! Again!"
  11. That looks pretty damn good. How big is it? Kind of hard to tell from the pictures...
  12. Yeah, everythings back to normal. Thankfully.
  13. More compelling than horseman animal porn!? Surely you jest! But yeah, Shirow has been on a downhill since the early 90's, methinks. Kind of like Kenichi Sonoda and multitudes of other fan-favorite artists and creators from the 80's.
  14. Dude, get your mind out of the gutter. Those were harmless electric massagers...
  15. Steroidology.com, eh? I usually go to RX7club.com or the forums in insertcredit.com. Really though, other than Macross and my local car club's forum, I barely read forums anymore. So when the car forum went down today and Macross World was down for maintenance.. you can imagine my horror. Yes. You might have had to go OUTSIDE! The horror! Hah, I was at work all day so I was stuck inside in front of a computer with nothing to do. There's only so much solitaire you can play before you go insane.

  17. My MySQL databses went AWOL on me. That basically means the three photo albums, car club forum and all my blogging backend is gone. This unfortunately includes Macross Fan Creations as well. The rest of my site is up, and I have no idea why my databases just dispeared. Hopefully they'll be able to restore them with a backup, but there's a chance they might not be able to. Give me a few more days and I'll post an update on the situation. Thanks for your patience and I'm sorry about this.
  18. Heh, heh....he said "Wanzer"....heh, heh Being serious now, I presume Wanzer is supposed to mean Walking Panzer? But wouldn't it have been more funny if the creators had decided to base the name on Walking Tank. Figure it out your selves! Graham You wacky British... The name actually has changed from game to game. I think it was just 'Panzer' in the forst one, then Wanzer, and maybe soem other things. I haven't played any of the FM games in forever, so my memory is sketchy.
  19. Just signed up for DSL today, so hopefully I'll be able to check this series out soon. I never saw the original OAV but i did read a lot of the comics. Kind fo kicking myself for passing on a bunch of them the other day when I saw them in the 10cents bin at a comic book shop.
  20. Ask not what Macross World can do for you, but what you can do for Macross World. Maybe that was cheesy, but it's true. This constant bitching about the main site not being updated is pointless unless someone saddles up and offers their help to get it done. I think Blaine's idea is a good one. An updated Macross World would be a bit much to handle for one person, so maybe a group of volunteers is the way to go. That said, Macross World is Shawn and Graham's baby and I suspect they might have a hard time letting a bunch of other people start messing with it. Ultimately though, websites do have a life cycle. As their owner's get busier the website becomes less of a priority and they die out or at least stop updating. Shawn and Graham don't owe us anything. They provided Macross fandom with a whole helluva lot and continue to do so by paying for and maintaining this message board and the main site (which is still an incredible archive of 15 years of Macross merchandise). It's their site, if they don't update... we have no right to be upset. Be thankful for what we have, and unless you can come up with a solution for getting Macross World updated again, there's no use in complaining.
  21. Given the amoutn of Votoms OVA's and other products released in the 20 years since the original airing, I'd say there's definately a fanbase out there... I'm sure it's just in development, these thinsg don't get made over night you know!
  22. Cool, I remember when they did a similar paper-craft Wanzer around the time FM3 was released.
  23. Thing is though, there was no comedy in this OVA. A samurai who doesn't want to kill and a backwards sword? Sounds funny to me. the ova is a prequel from his days as the battosai, so hes using real swords and killing lots of ppl Really? I never knew that. Nevermind then. Guess I gotta go back and eat my words....

  25. Duke, it's a shame you already have a custom title because "MW"s Official Tattletale" would be perfect for you. There's no need to and start dumb threads like this, unless you enjoy being a narc. Maybe you do. The thread wasn't hurting anybody, and you're certainly not winning over any new friends by running to the mods whenever someone posts something off-topic or something that you deem "inappropriate." It's just annoying and most definately not necessary, grow up.
