Didn't Shawn already mention an idea for a project like this? I think the problem was that no one had the skills and time to program such a thing, and we couldnt find a suitable program to do it from somebody else. Still a very cool idea and it'd be great to see it done.

Man, parents just don't understand. My mom always gives me crap about the money I spend on cars, video games and all that other stuff. The irony is that when I was looking to buy a new camera, she practically told me to get the most expensive one I could get, since she's a big photographer herself. But she still doesn't understand the kidn of money I drop on my car.

Yes, and managed to do a really crappy job of it. Did AnimEigo do the release themselves? Seems liek a lot of their DVD stuff was done by a third party, like the BGC DVDs and those turned out pretty lousy....

I think the irony and hypocrisy of that situation would cause the universe to collapse in on itself.

Thats a nice looking custom. Only thing that bothers me is the heat shield... Seems like it might be better in red or the dark grey.

I'm definately impressed. The Mecha Godzilla one was pretty badass, as well as teh Seagal vs. The Alien. Although you've gotta wonder what kind of guy has a STEVEN SEAGAL DOLL.

Funny how the switch to the new board kind of brought everyone back to an "even" level in terms of experience, just looks like everyone signed up in late August. I've only been here a little over a year, since that's when I got back into Macross. A few years before I posted occasionally on alt.fan.macross and before that was a pretty active member of the Disciples of Zor, if anyone remembers that.

I thought the Total Recall short story was really, really hokey. The ending reaked of stupid SF cheese, and in that respect, the movie wins out. Howabout Johnny Mnemonic? I'm a big Gibson fan but the JM movie sucked. New Rose Hotel (which was one of Gibson's earlier short works) was made into an indy movie starring Christopher Walken and Willam Defoe and was pretty good, although quite "artsy."

Reminds of junior high. I'd say more, but the statute of limitations aren't up yet.

Don't rationalize recasting a kit because the guy is a dick, that's BS. If you recast it, fine, but don't make it out like doing so is all high and mighty. Reminds me of the people who legitimize downloading MP3s as okay because the record companies are evil. Don't justify something that's illegal with moral reasoning, because it's still illegal.

*cough*Dreamcast*cough* Dreamcast is still king for 2D games of any sort in the past few years. Shooters, fighters, the DC did it best. Plus it's still getting niche games released for it.

Well. Didn't Kawamori and Masumune work together for the first Ghost In The Shell movie? I'd love to see them work together on an independent series, movie, OAV, etc. Kawamori's involvement in the GiTS movie was purely design, I think he just did some helicopters and maybe that final spider-mecha. Shirow had nothing to do with the movie at all, other than providing the inspiration by creating the original comic.

So it's ADV that's honoring him? Doesn't he work for ADV?
