  1. But then she'd have trouble running.
  2. Wish they'd bump up the graphics for the XBox version, but I guess thats the problem with releasing it on the PS2. Looks like a fun game though, I'm not much of a stealth action guy but as long as there's some action I'll definately look into it.
  3. As for the Nanashi thread quotes, notice how many times he asked the SAME question? Totally unecessary, as by that point he was just harssing Nanashi.
  4. It would help if you guys actually read what we're posting. We're not saying that Togo doesn't have valid points, we're saying that he voices them in a rude and abusive manner. His attidtude is the problem, not what he's trying to say.
  5. There's no doubt Nanashi has his own problems, and I've questions his website practices in the past as well. The difference between Togo's questioning and others is that Togo kept pressuring the point, when obviously Nanashi didn't want or feel like answering. There's a difference betweeing bringing up a valid question and bringing it up over, and over and over again. So because he was being "tame" compared to his normal actions that's, OK? "Hey guys, he was being a jerk... But usually he's a REALLY big jerk, so it's OK."
  6. What if they cast Schwarzeneggar as the captain? I'm pretty sure groping subordinate officers is against the Prime Directive, so that might be a no-go.
  7. It's not that Duke Togo's complaints are invalid or wrong, it's that he goes about voicing them in a childish and downright rude fashion. Nanashi has his issues, and peopel have voiced their problems with him before. The difference with what Togo did was that he kept berating Nanashi and wouldn't stop, acting as though Nanashi owed him something. Rather than saying his piece and let it go, he continued to harass Nanashi and say the same stuff over and over again. If he wanted to be that abusive, he could have taken it to PM. Not to mention his actions in the Star Wars Ep III thread. Angry that peopel were posting spoilers against the mod's wishes he started calling people "jackasses" and "shithead." A valid complaint? Yes. The mature way to go about voicing your anger? No. The simple fact is that Togo is an immature guy who thinks the internet owes him something, and enjoys acting like a jerk to people on the forum. No amount of internet dick-waving (who the hell cares if you've been an internet anime dork for 6 years?) or "telling it like it is" is justification enough for his rude behavior. It's the kind of behavior we don't need on an otherwise friendly internet forum.
  8. what? when does daylight savings time go into effect? did i just show up to work early today? Er, fall I think? Either way it's kind fo irrelevant. The important this is that it gets the time correct.
  9. How about you just do what the mods say, which is DON'T POST SPOILERS. Because it's a public forum and there's always going to be peopel who don't follow the rules? That's life, bud.
  10. Easiest way to not see a spoiler is to just not look at the damn thread. It's a stupid movie, we know most of what happens anyways, get over it.
  11. Go into your control panel, click on board options and then click "Daylight savings time is in effect" or mess with the time zone to get the right time for you.
  12. Yeah, seriously. War rocks.
  13. Please don't misinterpret what I said. I didn't say anything about the Japanese being right or wrong in the war, or anything about them "deserving what they got" or otherwise. All I was stating was that the Japanese experienced wartime attrocities (this is true) and that, combined along with other factors has lead to a modern Japanese society which is generally opposed to war. As for "deserving what they got," I'd question your logic as to the justification of innocent children being killed (Japanese or otherwise) but that would be more off-topic than we already are.
  14. Straight up creepy.
  15. Oh man, is your girlfriend a Robotech fan or something?
  16. More Japan visa info here: http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html, should be able to answer most questions about Japanese visas.
  17. Actually, from what I read about the Tokyo School for the Japanese Language is that if you want to work there you need a Cultural Visa Seems a tourist visa won't get you a working permit Guessing Rob meant to go to Japan on a tourist visa, find your job and then get a working visa. Although a tourist visa only lasts 90 days (assuming youre from the US) and you'll have to exit and re-enter the country to get a working visa.
  18. In the late 1200's there were two Mongol-lead Chinese invasions of Japan. Both invasions failed, largely do two large storms which forced the attackers to retreat, depending on who you talk to the invasion fleets were either destroyed (the Japanese version) or the fleets simply decided to return home rather than tough out the storm (the Chinese/Mongolian version).
  19. That's largely because if Japanese soldiers died in Iraq, the Japanese politicians there would be in deep poo and like have thier political career brought to a startling halt, it is less a statement about pacificist politicians and more about public opinion destroying political careers. Keep in mind where the Japanese are coming from. At the end of World War II, the Emporer went on Japanese radio and announced to the Japanese people that they were surrendering. Up until this time, no regular Japanese civilian had heard the Emporers voice because he was an Emporer, godlike in stature and certainly above the breadth of "normal" people. By showing such signs of humanity and admiting defeat to the Americans, many felt that invalidated the deatsh of those Japanese soldiers who had given their lives for their country and Emperor. The Japanese people suffered some of the worst war time attrocities of the 20th century, the two atomic bombs are obvious but the extensive firebombings of Japanese cities leveled much of the country's urban centers. Add on to this Article 9 (IIRC) of the Japanese Constitution which prohibits Japan from employing a military for use beyond self-defense and specifically prohibits any sort of military belligerency. All told, Japanese opinion against wartime operations goes beyond just being "a bunch of pacificists" and is more akin to the result of cultural trauma. As for non-pacifists in Japan, Japan has a vocal minority of right-wing nationalists that would be more than happy to ammend the constitution to allow a more traditional military, mainly to protect themselves from China and N. Korea. But I'm guessing you weren't quite hoping for hardcore nationalists, or maybe you were. I'd throw in some comments about my visiting Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine (the biggest, most famous shrine for the war dead in Japan) on August 15th of last year, but this post is already ridiculously large and bordering on the "No Politics" rule.
  20. Er, this coming from the guy who started this thread so rudely and childishly? Get over yourself man, you can bring up valid questions and comments without acting like an ass. A contest is probably the best way to go to get new skins, otherwise we'll likely get a bunch of people saying "I'll make one!" and then never finishing it (the MW way... ). Although honestly, until we start putting up prizes I doubt there'll be much interest. Those who want a new skin seem to be a minority, and a minority with a lack of means to make the skins (I assume, otherwise they'd be quiet and make it themselves) so the trick is getting the people on the forum with the skill and talent to actually want to make them. Frankly, I think the wisest solution might be to throw a Macross World logo where the Invision logo is or modify and existing skin that's out there. Lots of custom skins just come out looking amateur and unprofessional (black backgrounds anyone?) so we might end up going in the opposite direction that we're trying to go in.
  21. I don't doubt the authenticity of the guy's essays, but I question his naiveness. His surprise at how perverted his students are just cracks me up, perverted high school kids are nothing unqiue to Japan!
  22. This was already discussed at length in a previous thread started by WJ. He eventually conceeded and mentioned something about cutting back on his "protective" policies. Really, though, it's irrelevant. He's knows that many people disagree with how he conducts himself (and for that matter, many people DONT care) so more bitching about it won't solve anything except irritate WJ to the point where he stops posting stuff altogether. I've been a vocal critic of WJ before, but frankly, he posts interesting stuff and it would suck if he stopped doing so.
  23. Good lord, that Chrysler is hideous. Looks like a bastard child of the gorgeous Aston Martin DB9 and the rather grotesque Z4.
  24. I used to read AFM, so I understand where you're coming from. The only one who knows why WJ keeps changing his site instead o updating and opening it is WJ and really, that's his business. It's his site, he can do whatever the hell he wants with it. It's frustrating, but sheesh, grow up and stop whining about it. It's not like he's asking for money, he still provides a lot to the forum so stop acting like some spoiled kid.
