i was a big fan of RT in the 80s and macross plus in the 90s. my bro got me the macross plus game edition back in 2000 for christmas. in it were fliers for the first yamato toys, the 1/72 mac plus valks. i did a search online for more info on yamato valks and found my way to this site. i lurked the site for news a long time before i finally started posting.

I have problems getting onto MW as well and I have a question for others having similar problems. What kind of antivirus/antispyware programs do you use? I and another user that have problems getting onto MW both use AVG free edition. Perhaps we can get a list set up of antivirus programs that do/don't allow access to MW and contact the ones that don't allow MW.

Veda is one part of this series that I do not like at all. This fortune telling computer is somehow supposed to know exactly the right people for piloting the Gundams and the exact time and place that conflicts and acts of terrorism are supposed to occur. Uhm, sure. I agree that the action is getting repetitive and the Gundams dominate too much. That is why I was so excited when I saw episode 7 when it appeared that Of course, episode 8 revealed that I was wrong. When the story finally is when we'll finally be able to put this series to the test. At the moment, I am completely content with having a lot of character development as opposed to plot, but that won't last for long.

i don't see why a new line that includes a VF-11 would automatically mean we're not gonna see a 1/60 VF-11. i'm sure a 1/60 VF-11 is planned, but graham's not gonna be able to confirm that it's being made until it's officially announced anyway.

i like that setsuna's an idiot. it makes sense plot wise seeing as how he was a people who have extremely dark childhoods like that tend to be very irrational, hence setsuna's dumb behavior. setsuna obviously still holds a lot of bitterness towards oops. i thot everyone knew that much already.

apparently we found the culprit. both sulendil and i use AVG antivirus software. seems like too much of a coincidence that we would both use this software and have problems, esp when other computers using our connections can get to mw no problem. as much as i like mw i like my antivirus protection and don't want to buy a new one. i guess i will have to contact AVG?

oops my bad, i forgot that the one i watched wasn't subbed in english. is mendoi better than menclave? they have a sub of ep 8 out now. i never pay attention to the subs.

but break dancing is so cool! lol great news, i love the idea of $15 macross toys. i wouldn't buy 1/60 enemy mechs or destroids for $150-$200 a piece but i would definitely get them for $15!!! that's if they really do look great and have great articulation as advertised. the gbp was also waay too much for me to consider at 1/48 but i'd get one at this size!!! i'd even take some similar scaled and similar priced non-transformable fighters!!! i'm not willing to buy 1/60 ghosts for $50+ but i'd take them for $15. or how bout similar sized and similar priced ships? like a $15 daedalus or a $15 armd carrier!!! or a nuptitet-genz(sp) or sdf-1!!!! that would be the shiznit. edit: btw graham what the heck is a nora type sv-61?

wow i kno i'm double posting but is no one else on mw following this series!!? lol i like this series more than most but no one seems interested!! episode 8 had it's good points but also some minor disappointments for me. the dialogue between marina and setsuna was amazing, that made the episode for me! !! talk about drama!!! it was a really memorable first encounter for me, waay up there with the best of them. the actual mobile suit action scenes consisting of the gundams dominating and annihilating their foes is getting a bit old. they'd better get some actual competition fast. side note: i always thought that marina was the primary heroine, but she (24) is waaay too old for setsuna (16)!!! their age difference is extremely obvious when they're standing next to each other. is setsuna not gonna have a love interest? or will marina violate a minor? lol

the text in japanese says it will come bundled with the fastpacks, display stand, and attachments for the fold booster. that won't give me an excuse to wait for the second release.

the magazine article says in japanese that it's a blue scheme as well. looks like a tv max 1a scheme to me. probably looks purple cuz of the lighting in the shot.

When I say this series is diverging from Gundam Wing and going into previously uncharted territory for a Gundam series, you must understand that I am specifically speaking from a plot and character standpoint and not from the standpoint of mecha. And you must also understand that I am not a Gundam fan or really much of an anime fan, but more of a fan of realism. What is really making this series stand out for me is the post 9/11 geopolitical style of the show, which was especially evident in this episode. The character development is also imo far better than typical Gundam series. The "teenage angst ridden victim of war" main character is an extremely cliche, done to death theme in Gundam, but for the first time ever it is being done in a convincing, gritty, realistic way. And the classic conflict between an idealist (shuns terrorism) and a realist (favors getting the job done no matter the cost) has imo never been done in such a convincing manner in Gundam until now. Maybe it's because this is set in AD and the countries involved are countries that exist today, but these themes which I thought were never really done too well in other Gundam series are being done in a gritty, realistic style in this series that makes it believable and compelling to watch. I dunno, maybe I'm getting excited over nothing. And it remains to be seen whether the typical Gundam fan in Japan or elsewhere shares my tastes. I just hope this series can keep it up.

they look way different to me. the yellow valk looks like it has full gbp type armor (that is transformable!!) while the red valk looks like it has standard fastpacks.

HOLY COW!!!!!! EPISODE 7 WAS SO AWESOME!!!!! This ep just gave this series instant credibility for me!!!! It went from Gundam Wing clone to territory untouched by any former gundam series in one episode!!!! Hopefully they can keep it up for the whole series.

holy cow already getting fastpack pics and transforming full armor!!!!! if only there were super bad enemy mecha to fight these valks..

David, you are probably the biggest aviation buff on this forum, and I've always respected your opinion, but honestly right now it just sounds like you're being a little elitist and snobby. Yeah, duh. You think we couldn't figure that out when the pictures themselves are labeled as such? None of us need to be told that they are F-22 schemes when the pic says "Raptor scheme" or that they are F-15 compass ghost gray schemes when the pic says "compass ghost gray." And yes, some valks were based (loosely)off of real world aircraft, but whose to say that real world schemes from other aircraft are "misappropriate" and don't belong on the valk? That would be like saying the YF-19 should only be painted like the x-29 and Su-47. We all know low-vis 1 was inspired by the F-15 and not the F-14, Yamato even announced it as such. That didn't stop everyone here from almost unanimously approving of the scheme (except for you who I guess thought it was inappropriate on an F-14 inspired valk). F-14 schemes are gonna tend to look better on an F-14 inspired valk, but I say as long as it looks good anything goes. If an F-4 or an F-15 scheme looks good enough to get oohs and ahs on a YF-21 I say go for it. The light gray YF-23 doesn't look that different from the F-15 compass gray anyway.
