Let’s see if they pull it off or if it’s a big flop. I was surprised by the Reacher series, pretty decent, not perfect adaptation of the Killing Floor, but decent enough to warrant a second season.

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
kalvasflam replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Remember, ICBM launch systems are still using 8” floppies on ancient PCs that cannot connect to the internet. It’s called operational security. I doubt if modern day hackers even know the code for these computers. -
Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII

Wow, that could have been so much worse, that plane could have crashed into more than a few aircraft in the front of the deck if it slid the wrong way. Or if he drifted a bit to either side, wipe out planes to his left. did I see correctly, looks like he ejected right before the plane started to spin. Wonder what caused the pilot to be low by that much, another few meters and he wouldn’t have even been on the deck. -
Star Wars Disney+ limited TV Series

Oh no, you named She who shall not be named.... As for Rex and the other clones, remember, Rex was at Endor, he looked ok, and this part of history isn't taking place 20 years after the Endor. What did they say.. about ten years may be? Like I said, Boba is a guest star in his own show, it's kind of sad. TGIF.- 1385 replies

Uh…. Am I still watching Boba Fett? Cause the dude is becoming a refugee in his own show. What happened to the bad ass that was feared throughout the galaxy. First he has to get rescued, now he is more or less absent for this episode. Just odd. I guess this must be more galaxy building… may be Boba is going to be a regular in the Mando show.- 1385 replies

Blowing it up sounds great, but unless you can vaporize them plane, there will always be useful parts to get. Didn’t the Russians and Chinese scrape up pieces of the F-117 after it was shot down in Serbia? Thought they bombed that one too. -

Didn’t China buy the Glomar Explorer at some point? 🤑 Seriously, one has to wonder how easy it is going to be for the US to recover the plane in international waters. What are the salvage implications. This is practically in China’s backyard. What a mess. it is also interesting that this is the second F-35 in recent months that has been ditched in the seas. One wonders if there is something wrong with the plane.😝 -
Star Wars Disney+ limited TV Series

Which would make his attempt to directly engage Skywalker at point blank range all the more baffling. He in theory knew how dangerous Luke was, if nothing else, the prior events at Jabba’s palace should have informed Fett of something.- 1385 replies

Star Wars Disney+ limited TV Series

Well, there is a truth to the fact that Boba does need to learn, for example, the tactical acumen involved in advancing against a light saber wielding nutjob vs discreetly and quietly running away or perhaps just staying in the background and taking potshots. It's as if he forgot one of the earlier lesson of his life when he saw someone quite similar in capability to him getting his head chopped off. Or the fact that he isn't a loyal employee, but a contractor for hire. If that's what you mean by learning, I completely agree. But aside from charging mindlessly into battle at close range against a Jedi, what other thing did he do that led him straight into the Sarlacc pit in the first place? And if you think he has "learned" from his previous experience, one could easily claim that he didn't learn anything from his re-encounter with the same Sarlacc, and has in fact regressed backwards. TGIF... Thank Goodness It's Fennec for bailing his sad ass out of that jam. And his word of gratitude was what exactly... oh right, "don't touch my button."- 1385 replies

Star Wars Disney+ limited TV Series
kalvasflam replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Haha, without saying it, the article is basically criticizing Disney for make up Woke Boba…. the kinder, gentler Boba who uses diplomacy to be CEO Boba, instead of slaughtering his ways through his enemies. And using his rocket packet only when absolutely necessary. Feels like I am watching JL Picard. Book of Boba could have been about the things that made him so feared, the history of Boba pre Sarlacc. But…. Let’s ruin him by turning him decent, it would be like how the writers today might retcon a stand alone Darth Vader series and not make him a total a-hole after blowing through the Jedi temple, all the while moaning Padme in his head.- 1385 replies

With Boba, they should have just kept him in the background, there are some stories better left untold. Some times less is more. Boba feels like a desperate attempt to keep Disney+ relevant.- 1385 replies

Odd, all of the carrier types that aren’t Earth are armed like battleships and no fighter complement are listed anywhere. What the heck….

A battleship escorted by two carriers. Is there a subtle message that's being sent with that one? Especially considering the battleship is Yamato? 😁

Confessions of an Economic Hitman. At times, the author feels like he is embellishing, but there is some genuine history here, most of it will remain obscured. But it is an interesting perspective of history.

At least Masterson is still alive… 😅 I hope the fall of Gamilas has a little more detail than just this. In the original, Gamilas had been abandoned, undefended. Here, it just feels odd that the population is there and the enemy just waltzes right in.

I did forget that to keep things moving along… they do need to bring back the older actors periodically, like they already did with Hopkins and Russo in Thor, Redford in Winter Soldier, Jolie in Eternals, the entire spider cast in the last movie, enough to pull in the old audience to squeeze the turnip for a little more dinero while transitioning to a younger crowd with money. And give it more gravitas. I mean you can see it, a few years from now when Cumberbach passes on the torch, they can cameo like RDJ did in how many movies. Toss in Ruffalo, what’s her name in Captain Marvel and so forth. Then cycle in new actors and so forth. Just like Johnny Cash mentioned in the prison song.

you'd have to admire Disney for trying to turn over their cast. In reality, since their story boards are already written courtesy of Marvel, they can get away with a whole lot. As long as the comic books keep churning out new ideas, interesting villains, they could keep the gravy train going forever. I think the trick for them is to build up a generational audience. Cycle out the older >45 year old actors and actresses as main characters over the course of a decade or two, keeping up a long overriding arc on their movies, and then slowly phase those out. You figure, you have got a new Capt America, some type of new Black Panther, a new Widow, a new Hawkeye, etc, and pretty soon, new X-men. You can toss in the multiverse, and suddenly, you've got Avengers vs Magneto, Spiderman taking on Hydra, X-men against the Sinister Six. Then run through the variation on the storylines to fit in the time frames, I mean you could do a stand alone Omega Red vs Wolverine, and the list goes endlessly on and on. The money machine keeps on churning, especially if little Bob does as well as his predecessor, Sideshow Bob, and starts grooming a successor Bob, they'll manage somehow. Even though their parks business and store business are still on a long path to recover.

It's an interesting way to potentially reset the Spiderman franchise again. Tabula Rasa. So, if they wanted to, they could divorce Sony from Marvel again in a way. After all, friendly neighborhood spiderman doesn't have to interact with all of the big ones in the MCU. After all, Holland might be getting expensive. Time to find the next Garfield.
