that's pretty sweet! any clips of the anakin/obi-wan duel?

Maybe we should be worried that it might succeed? I know some of us here found Macross because of our initial exposure through Robotech. And with the resurgence of 80s brands and licenses, I wonder what even a moderate sucess would mean? Maybe HG would ease their stranglehold on Macross if they actually succeeded with their Mospeada based venture? They'd have a cash-cow with no licensing disuptes to milk that they owned free and clear. What do you guys think? *ducks incoming fire*

Wow! I was watching that too but forgot all about it. Great steal for the bidder there. -
Macross Live Action definitely do-able

Didn't they already do a horrible live action Gundam? -

So, you're willing to let some hollywood hack try to ruin something good? Please, let Macross remain animated, CG or otherwise. There is no need to do it up Jerry Bruckheimer style and ruin it for the rest of us. We have enough angry fanboys in the universe as it is. Besides, there's other anime franchises I'd rather see ruined by Hollywood, like DBZ.... -

Two words people: ROBOT JOCKS! If that doesn't scare you out of live action giant robot movies, then there's no help for you. -
Science and Technology MEGA THREAD

I actually saw a show on the History Channel (yes, I actually watch the History Channel) about those ruins and it was very interesting. They had divers from National Geographic taking pictures of the site and commenting that they were pretty convinced that it was man made. Of course, they trotted out a geologist who tried to debunk it, but he didn't come off very convincing to me. But then they brought out Graham Chapman who really doesn't have a lot of credibility, but has some great theories about ancient cultures. -

What I don't get is who's going to want to watch an entire movie on that screen? 2 hours of gaming, sure I see that. Listen to my mp3s. Okay. But a movie? Okay, maybe an adult movie with your headphones on (to not wake up the folks, significant other, etc.). But I don't know that I'd want to squint at the LOTR or even Spidey 2 on that screen. Never mind that basically you'd more than likely be re-purchasing a movie you already owned on DVD. And then they slap it with a 250 bones price tag? You can get a TV or a DVD player (or both) for that price these days. -

It is kind of a shame. I just started watching again this season and I have to say the show has improved quite a bit. I gave up on it right around the end of season 1 and just now it seems to be improving overall. Well, maybe if they retire Trek for a few years, they might actually get some fresh takes on the franchise that could make it seem relevant again. -

I could have sworn I saw those pics in another recent sdf-1 auction. I'd bid with extreme caution. -
What's really scary about that FAQ is that it mentions that Macek wanted to use Orguss footage to produce Robotech III. *shudder*

Did anyone else follow the link to the voltron promo? Now THAT looked lame. And that company is working on the new RT? I think it's safe to say that both franchises have sealed their own fates and are surely headed down the toilet.

The Roy is definitely easier to find and (generally) more reasonably priced than the hikkie right now. It also was seen a lot more in the tv series and the hikkie only appeared in DYRL. So, I say get the hikkie if you're really enamored with the paint scheme or money is not too tight, but get the Roy if you want to save yourself some dough. BEWARE: You can say "oh, I'll just get one" but sooner rather than later, you'll decide you want another....and another...

Actually, it'll probably stop right before you're married when you're selling them off for the engagement ring. And with those walls of yammies my friend, you could probably sell them off and get your future wife to be a small meteorite to flash to friends around town.

Sure, someone should just change my title to that so my wife can finally prove in writing that her husband is the "Grand Master of the Obvious" as she likes to call me. And she uses that as a compliment gents. Such a sweetie that one...

That review was great. The author obviously knew quite a bit about the mac universe and was very detailed. That kind of review might actually get my wife convinced to sit down and watch macross.

When my wife and I first started dating I stopped collecting because I feared she would think I was childish. We'd go visit my parents house and she'd see all these toys in my room and she'd think it was silly. But after we got married and even more so after she got pregnant, I got back into it with some verve. And now that my son is here I use it as my little escape from fatherhood, career, and married life. She recoginzes that, only hates the money involved, and accepts. She has shoes and jewels, and I have jets that transform into giant death dealing robots. I think the real key is to find a woman that *gasp* accepts you and your valk addiction. Of course, that ususally involves going out and meeting the fairer sex from time to time.

Godzilla, you didn't tell us your address....where do you live again? My friends and I want to come over and stea....I mean look at your wonderul collection. j/k:P Then next time my wife complains about my small shrine to Macross, I'll just show her your pics.

Mods,I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the wanted thread...I need parts for my G1 Optimus Prime (fists, missles, etc.). Any good websites to get those? I found this one:Trans Parts through google. Have any of you done biz with this guy? Also, if any of you have any extra fists laying around I'd be glad to pay for them.
