Now if they could only find a way to have the missile punch fly back and reattach itself

Some of the people I've spoken to about the book thought it was a terrible ending, that basically King wrote himself into a corner and just wasn't sure how to end the series. Of my informal poll I'm pretty much in the minority in saying that it did me fine. I still don't agree that writing himself into the Tower books was a good idea and it did seem a bit much that the Tower and all the worlds and Roland and his ka-tet hinged on King's accident. Some spoilers..... But, overall, the end was the only ending that could have been. I was too shocked to be saddened by Eddie's death and when Jake died I was angry. Then Oy....I lost it when Oy died. That pretty much broke my back and I didn't want to continue reading; but I had to. I thought the battle with the King could have been a little bit more exciting than an eraser, do you ken? Anyway, having finished the last book finally after all this time, I feel like I want to start over again.

Hile gunslingers, the clearing is before me say thankya, I was just wondering if we were ready to palaver over the ending of the tale or if should I keep the spoilers to myself?

now Hurricane jeane!?
lt.actionjackson replied to VF-19 pilot!!!'s topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So far so good here in Duval County. Instead of moving North after landfall, Jeanne continued West and then North so we haven't had it as bad. Just some wind gusts in the fifties and some rain. I hope everyone else is staying dry. After Floridians run out of rations we usually draw straws to decide who we'll eat first. -

This is good news. Now I can finally get a Mazinger Z and not pay an arm and a leg for it. -

Well, Hurricane Jeanne is going to be affecting us here in Jax by Sunday. I'm just hoping that we all stay safe and don't lose power. There's nothing like Florida heat and an angry 18 month old to fray one's nerves for days on end. It makes me wish I'd never left Atlanta. -

Check this out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5921497166 I emailed the guy twice about pics and got no reply. It was originally BIN for 100 bones, but no pics and no replies makes me wary. He couldn't even tell me which Hiki valk it was. Unfortunately, I have bills to pay and didn't want to potentially waste the money. Anyways, if someone from here goes for it, let me know how it turns out -
Hile Gunslinger! I read the book Song of Susannah, say thank-ya. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't my favorite; that's still Wizard and Glass. I do have to say that thing with Eddie and Roland was very close to being very dumb but King managed to save it. I'm still not sure how, but he did. Other than that, it definitely spoiled my mental image of the Roland since I always thought he was supposed to look like Clint Eastwood circa The Good the Bad and the Ugly. But I'm definitely getting the last one the day it comes out.

The NEW Star Wars on DVD thread

it's definitely that "how much for the little girl" look on Hayden's face that is wrong with that shot. Did GL even look at that? Does he look like a happy ol' jedi ghost? Does GL even remember how ROTJ originally ended anymore? I'm surprised he didn't try to digitally remove the ewoks and replace them with Howard the Duck and his friends. -

From they way they're figuring, when Anakin fell into the lava he died, and only Vader existed after. So, the redeemed Anakin could only be the one that existed before Vader. So, we get a lame photoshop of creepy Hayden in place of that guy (forget his name) who originally played Vader unmasked in ROTJ. -

Now that I've seen that Hayden replacement scene in ROTJ for myself, I have to say it looks HORRIBLE. Did they have to do that? Really? I guess I'll have to wait for the uber 6 disc gold and diamond plated set to get the movies how they were originally shown. -

more news on the dvd sets: http://cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_i...52&obj_id=42455 The only question is now, is it good news or bad news? Can't they just put it back the way it was??? -

But wouldn't they just get the kiminoans to clone some more? Isn't the point of a clone army so that you can keep churning them out year after year and not worry about attrition or retirement? -

Has GL stated that, or are the fans and fanboys supposed to assume that considering how dumb and wimpy (losing to ewoks, hello???!!)the 'troopers are by epIV. Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread, I'm just curious. -

So...since they changed boba's voice and boba is a clone of jango and the stormtroopers are all jango clones, does that mean they've redubbed all the stormtrooper voices too? I know that in general they probably don't have a lot of lines in the OT, but I was just wondering... -
I was having the same thought. Where are the "MB" stickers and the "S.Bernard" decal that goes along the center of the bike? Mine was a hand me down given to me by a friend but I'm pretty sure there's a few more stickers that aren't shown by that scan.

I will only see this if they promise to use the Queen (Flash! Ahaah!)soundtrack -
I was just thinking that I'd love for old Scott/Stig/Stick to have some brand new stickers/decals since all of his seem to peeling these days. Once we can get a price I'd definitley love to have a sheet.

*throws two pennies on table* Wolverine becoming an avenger is about as smart as Superman beating Thor. Obviously, Marvel plans on beating us over the head with Wolverine until someone, somewhere gets sick of him. Right now, thanks to the X-movies, Logan's visibility is way up there with ol' mr. parker. I just wish someone at Marvel could stop the insanity. It's things like this that made me stop reading comics.

Should we be surprised that there are no bids for that stinking pile of poo? It looks like something made in a 3rd grade pottery class. -

Now that is just scary. Nothing like a short supply and high demand to drive prices and collectors crazy
