Yeah a tutorial on it would be good! And I just noticed that your is a v1 and not a renewal.. So obviously Bandai made no improvements to the design when it came to supporting option parts fitment.. well for the Armors at least..

hehe! sounds like a whole lotta good hard work! I fitted the Armors to my 25S and it turned into a floppy mess of jelly.. had to make up a plastic post to support it as I don't have the room to display it on the included stand due to cabinet shelf height..

hmmm yeah ok so.. +1 on certain design elements of the 30 but then yes as Pedro points on in a few comments above and -1 on others.. The tail fins are a definite negative.. still don't like how they attach so flimsily and the lack of locking or reference point to indicate correct positioning is another small fail. But maybe there wasn't many other build options or resolutions available for Bandai to overcome this shortfall in the 30's design without deviating too far from the original design. The base of the tail fins would look crap if it was built up too much / bulky in order to make it stronger or incorporate a locking mechanism.. The gun pod mounting issue with the missile pod extended is another let down yes.. don't really see a way around this other than having an additional bracket / clip available in order to remount the gun back to the underside of the plane when in fighter mode with missile pod extended. Not sure how many folks will have the 30 displayed in fighter mode with the missile pod extended as to me it looks kinda silly. Gerwalk or Battroid are really the only two modes that the missile pod doesn't look too out of place when extended. Well actually now that I have two 30's with one displayed in Battroid im really liking the missile pod hanging overhead! Ready to issue a whole lotta chaos! On the discussion of which brand is better.. Bandai -vs- YamAcadia.. I think both have their strong points and weaknesses. But I think the differences between the two brands is what give each other their character / qualities!

yeah he's pretty cool and tries his best considering we haven't seen each other in a number of years due to living in different countries but we do stay in constant contact.. We do have a lot in common though Macross not being one of them but it was really nice he thought of doing this! I'll be sure to return the favour for his birthday later in the year! -

came home today to a very nice little surprise! my dad (who lives in the UK) sent me over a late birthday present!! now I have two YF-30's! which is nice I'll admit considering I would have never bought a second one.. im more impressed with the fact he managed to chose something that im interested in! He said there is a anime & collectibles shop in a neighboring town which just stocked the 30 as a brand new release so he figured I wouldn't have it yet and bought one! so yeah no complaints! I put this one in battroid mode up next to the other in fighter.. looks cool but kinda loose and fiddly to handle.. didn't end up using the locking parts. she stands quite well without them. Had to keep the feet un-extended and I prefer the vertical stabilizers in the outward position.. just in case some folks notice the pose errors.. pic below!

Been considering doing something similar for a while myself actually.. I'd like to pickup another 1/60 VF-19P and do a custom Skull Squadron scheme like MW member Scream Man has done but the cost and the potential for messing up such a beautiful Valk makes me a little hesitant.. But anyways best of luck with your repaint! looking forward to seeing the end result! im sure it will look awesome!
