Saburo that's uncanny! its like you were there in the car with me! LOL! hehe! nahh just got the 1 VF-4G.. and it was about $550 which was expensive enough at the time let alone buy more of em!
-
eh? 1/72.. how hard is it to make it slightly bigger to 1/60?? And its probably going to stupid expensive so this might be an easy pass for me.

Bandai 1/72 Macross Frontier transformable model kits.. what they like
spanner replied to spanner's topic in Model kits
@chyll2.. hmmm they do look a little odd in Gerwalk.. but then again as much as I love Gerwalk on a VF-1 even the 1/60 VF-25 struggles to pull it off without looking somewhat odd.. @Nekko.. your photos look great! I can see from the photo of the fighter mode that it doesn't look like it quite fits together smoothly.. Battroid looks great though! I would say the rest of the issues they suffer from are Bandai keeping a strict count on the costs. I might get one so I can work on it with my son and see how its goes.. how bad can it be!? -
enjoying!

Would love to pick up another VF-19P Planet Zola Patrol Colors but I have massively over spent this month.. pity cos its at a good price on HKC..

Bandai 1/72 Macross Frontier transformable model kits.. what they like
spanner replied to spanner's topic in Model kits
Thanks for the information guys! They do seem to be rather troublesome kits. Might give them a miss. I thought it would be cool to try them out as a cost effective alternative to buying actual 1/60 DX Valks for both myself and my son but everyone seems to have more negative than positive to say about them.. oh well. Although there are a few impressively finished kits out there that folks have painted up! I just don't think I would have the skill or enthusiasm to go that far with them.. @mickyg.. thanks for the link to the thread! sheesh there's a lot in there! @modelglue.. I saw a few on Mandarake fairly cheap. -
bugger.. I totally forgot about this one.. especially after the lot of Zero-D's I pre-ordered.. ahh oh well looks like I'll just load up the credit card some more! hope they open up the pre-orders for this soon too!

might have to get some model kits.. would love to get back into model building! -
Just thought I would ask the question.. what are the Bandai 1/72 Macross Frontier transformable model kits like? I know they have to be built and painted but seeing how cheap they are it looked like an interesting idea to kill time and get back into model building.. maybe some of you guys have worked with these kits and can point out the good and bad points? thanks guys!

I always wanted a HWR-00 MKII in 1/60 but this 1/72 is still gonna be friggin HUGE!! to the point where you probably wouldn't notice it out of scale next to a VF-1!
-
I sure hope Arcadia does re-issue the VF-0S & A with all the improvements they applied to the Zero-D.. But I'll only be buying one of each and not multiples of them.. more of a delta wing layout fan!
-
hehe! yeah you could say that! all that pain for a VF-1S.. but it was mint and at a price I couldn't refuse! I live in the North West of the Sydney and had to travel through the city to South Sydney during peak hour traffic and there were multiple accidents which affected flow in both directions.. and choosing to use the harbor tunnel was also a huge mistake.. it was a car park. Sydney roads suck ass!
-
I think the most I've done would be a 5 hour round trip drive to pickup a cheap Valk but got stuck in bumper to bumper Sydney traffic.. a well price (local) Valk then cost me a 5h!t load in fuel.. Most I have paid for Valks would now be the 4x VF-0D I just pre-ordered!

oh! fair enough.. I've only ever bought off Amazon USA a hand full of times but never had an issue with anything..
-
hehe! one Zero per shelf! great idea dude! not so sure my son will like that idea as he'll want his zero in his room..
-
but @ 39,744.. that's just too much cheddar.. especially seeing how many other stores still have open pre-orders and considerably cheaper you'd be mad to buy one from Amazon..
-
Hehe! but that's why I pre-ordered 4 of em! 3 for me so I can display one in each mode and the 4th for my son.. Battroid looks sooo tall so I might have to put her in a semi aggressive pose in order to fit! stupid ikea Klingsbo cabinets.. should have bought Detolfs.. She's a big bird so I think its gonna be a stretch to fit all 3 on the one shelf!
-
dang.. just using one of my VF-1 as a reference to my display cabinets shelf height, I think its gonna be pretty tight to fit a VF-0D in Battroid going by this size comparison photo of a Zero next to the Arcadia VF-1..

haha! I was thinking the same after seeing the photo of G85 all geared up standing out on the street! Some poor sod happening to be walking past would have freaked! myself included! -
As mechanic mentioned above.. I always assumed that any of the two seaters under the VF designation were combat capable trainers? aren't the VT (& VE) variants meant to be unarmed? I would have thought that during war time (spacewar 1 for example) that production numbers of combat ready fighters were far more important than wasting airframes on an unarmed "trainer" only variants hence the VF-1D.. The VT-1 to me makes little sense to have.. especially as there wasn't much time to stock up on combat machinery before the war actually began.
