  1. Hehe! I went through so many of these things when I was a kid! I both loved and hated them as they broke and fell apart so easily but they were so cheap and available from our local supermarket that I just didn't care! Gotta say i don't miss them one bit though..
  2. Hehehe!! this made me laugh and almost cry at the same time! all I can say is im glad all my stuff is FULLY insured!
  3. Well done mate! I couldn't think of anything better to spend the money on!
  4. Whoa! This looks fabulous!
  5. Yeah super glue can work but you gotta be careful using it. But it doesnt last very long. The 2k clear is the clear coat over your typical cars paint! It dries super hard and is far more wear resistant than acrylic based clears. Its just a little harder to get and trickier to mix in small amounts..
  6. Same with my Milia but it's not super bad though.. my Max is fine. So it must have been a bad batch of canopies during Milia production then eh.. :/ Not going to attempt a canopy swap!
  7. I think I prefer the A & S without those little fins.. They look ok on the Zero-D as it kinda follows the design theme a little more but the A & S definitely look better cleaner! Unless that S prototype was using left over D parts before more were manufactured!?
  8. hehe! hmmm she might be cool about it but it also might be something in the back of her mind that gets stirred up from time to time!
  9. I just had a quick look at your collection and its mighty impressive Loop! You have a good few doubles, triples and quadruples in there too! I'd love to get a few more doubles and triples myself too actually! But no room to display.. My former (long term ex, my sons mother) was always very critical of my spending on my hobbies and other interests in particular. Even though we were earning more than enough combined to live quite comfortably and worry free, she always felt it necessary to make an issue out of my hobbies which to be honest is nothing like it is now days! But if she wanted to spend some crazy money on say a Beatles vinyl album or some other music industry memorabilia for example then that was ok and I sure as hell couldn't make a fuss about that. I very much disliked the double standards which were at play during those times. Im sure your wife has her own thing she is into and I assume you don't make a fuss about it towards her yes? If its your hobby and you enjoy doing it whilst all else is covered for then why make a fuss!? You only live once after all!
  10. Yes you are right. It's money spent not invested. Well at least the stuff I have. I restarted collecting without the expectation of gaining a return on anything other than the satisfaction of physically owning the pieces. And if I ever went to sell any of it I'd lose money on a good 95% or more of it! There are a few items which I could probably sell for more than I initially paid for but I have never geared my purchasing that way. And besides I have no intention of selling anything off anyways! But if everything did go up in smoke I would definitely be heart broken as a great deal of passion and energy went into making the collection I have now but seeing its all fully insured the payout would definitely soften the blow!
  11. I think I speak for everyone when I say.. same here!
  12. yeah its pretty crazy how quickly your hobbies and collections can tally up! Between the stuff I have collected so far, my motorbikes, computers etc etc its certainly right up there! And its only been relatively recently that I re-jigged my home contents insurance so that everything is more than covered for. Makes me feel physically ill how I had it setup before and for so long..
  13. I have 60 Valks at the moment and they have ranged from $150 all the way up to $600 each so that averages out to a considerable sum.. maybe one day I'll go through and properly value them all just for the shock value!
  14. The red is nice eh! its deep yet still has a good amount of brightness to it! Im not so sure the paint type he used.. it could have been acrylic but you'd need to ask Lancelot about that one.. Kurisama has done an excellent job with it! When I saw it I knew I had to have one and build up a MTF variant!
  15. It does eh! I haven't been able to keep my eyes off it since picking it up from Lance! They certainly did didn't they! Hahaha!! sorry mate but its already happily been "disposed of" sitting in one of my own glass containment units!
  16. bella bella bella!!!
  17. An excellent idea you had Lance! I was able to test it out again last night and all the glow paint works great!
  18. *Actually yes the splay of the head lasers is too great to allow it to swing through the upper body during transformation. Unlike the standard issue J, where the head is tapered so that when the lasers are folded forward for stowing when in fighter mode the laser tips come in closer together. With the Kurisama MTF head unit, the head is not shaped the same way. Hence why he includes a 2nd set of lasers which are angled differently. The new head does look kinda Frontiery doesn't it! Has a futuristic look to it but also still suits the VF-1 very nicely! I will take a photo next to Alto and post it up at some stage.. Thanks Noel! But the real credit goes to Lancelot for building the thing for me and Kurisama for designing and making the head unit available! Indeed she is! Oh yeah I forgot you also had a VF-1 painted up in MTF colors too! Hehe! MTF-J club! Thanks! Yes you definitely need to get the head for it! haha! well we'll see if that happens I guess.. I would really like to take some much better photos of it. But my photography skills kinda suck.. Maybe I should ship it up to Saburo for some camera work! You can buy them from Shapeways! That is where I got mine! http://www.shapeways.com/product/6B9AGZLX3?li=search-results-1&optionId=42270195 Thanks mate! It would be nice if Arcadia did so yes!
  19. This is sooo cool! I miss my child hood lego playing!
  20. Yes!!! exactly what I wanted to hear!
  21. Finally got my Custom VF-1J Macross The First livery Valk home tonight! Lancelot did the build and paint and he's done a fantastic job! It really looks sensational! So happy with the end result! This has the Kurisama head unit on it too so full credit to him for making this amazing sculpt available! The whole thing has come together so nicely! Let me know what you guys think! Once again a big thanks to both Lancelot and Kurisama for making this possible! You guys are legends!
