maybe so.. but.. we will actually get GBP parts? Supers are realistic (hopefully an inclusion) but beyond that I have doubts. Would be nice though! Man this thing is gonna cost a fortune..

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread
spanner replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Movies and TV Series
yeah the idea is good but what comes into question is the type of ammunition they chose for them.. projectiles really!?!? unless there is a "specific" reason for this which will be revealed in the series then it just doesn't really add up or make any sense.. Physical projectile ammunition would be very limited unless they have exchangeable magazines (which clearly doesn't seem to be the case or at least what we know of) or they simply will rely on the "anime magic" factor, which again would be a rather disappointing.. Maybe the missile pod is a giant ammo magazine!?!? i feel im pissing into the wind with that one.. and it would suck anyways. Im sure there would be loads more cooler ideas to have used for that rather than ammo storage.. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.. So you reckon they'll lock this thread again?- 2715 replies

hehe! yeah is pretty cool eh! This one is gonna sell faster than hot cakes! -
it could very well be yes! Kinda makes sense as where else would they be storing the projectile ammunition? Could also double as a shield too? I guess that's fairly reasonable to say.. The 30's transformation was quite a bit different from the previous lot of Valks and it appears that the 31 is closely based on the 30 so I'd say the transformation will be unlike the 24, 25, 27 & 29 era fighters.. After well over 30+ years of designing Valks im sure there will be a point where the man himself would hit a dry or rough patch.. but then look at the Sv-262 and that looks like something completely different entirely! Can't wait to see its other two modes!

Means we'll just have to put up with that or keep it in gerwalk or fighter mode and problem solved! hehe!

it certainly would certainly be a tough decision if Arcadia did re-issue the DYRL SDF-1 after having already bought the 1:1800 scale Bandai version.. but if Arcadia did release a TV version (which would be my preference anyways) then I'd definitely be going for it!

looks like they have also gone back to a much narrower cockpit canopy reminiscent of the VF-25 & 29.. I always felt that the cockpit canopy of the 30 was just too big and bulbous and didn't suit the Valk so much. Still I'd have rather seen a frame-less forward canopy section like on the F-16 (and VF-1, VF-11) but I don't mind what they have done with the 31.

Heat shield is definitely too long.. and the whole cockpit fuselage and nose section are longer than they should be.. although that's based on comparing it against a Yam-Arc v2.. which seems to be the benchmark. Even if it isn't 100% true to the line art. I must admit im liking the bulkier shoulders pads too! Not that I don't think the shoulder pads of the v2 VF-1 aren't good, they are a little compact. Probably done to better fit under the body for fighter mode. The head also sits lower within the upper body between shoulders. That may be closer to the line art and anime but I much prefer the head position of the v2 VF-1 as its a better balance of proportions. Legs are good too, definitely a better shape than the 48's.. and do you think the hands might look a little too large? Not that it looks bad or wrong, just an observation. But gees I hope they FULLY articulate! v2 1:60's are definitely the VF-1 benchmark which I don't see changing any time soon! The Hi-Metals.. hmmm im not so sure their proportions look that good. Not bad by any means just not great. I think the size of the toy would have definitely caused some limitations during design and manufacture. Then again I can't judge as I have never owned one and only going by photos which often don't do justice. Im in but just excuse me while I just go rob a bank first..

Hmmm the photo is a little deceptive I think.. the nose section does look kinda alright.. and just glancing over at some of my v2 VF-1 for comparison the nose on the 1:35 looks very similar in length. The gap from where the nose cone joins to the forward fuselage to where the very front of the cockpit canopy starts looks a little gappy which might be causing the long nose looking effect. Yeah the shoulders do look a little funny but still not bad. But I'll agree we don't want it looking like a 1:48.. insta turn off if that was the case. The more I look at it the more I like it!
