hehe! you're right! and i'll admit I was keen on buying another but after finally seeing one in the flesh in its other modes the desire kinda fizzled out.. but looking at the photos once again im starting to feel tempted again! even if it only is displayed in fighter mode..

i was just thinking that if one chose not to have any laser etching then you could always apply a sticker on the base like the kite logo..

Yes some have scratches.. hense why i no longer play with, transform or touch any of them anymore. -
There sure is a considerable difference in weight! Those bandai stands are rubbish..

unless you enlarged the physical size of the base perhaps but then it would start looking too big..

so being a lighter base would mean it would be a little less stable? Did you do the laser etching yourself? Nice idea! You could even do Macross designs depending on what one wanted displayed on the stand!

looking at this a little more, im thinking it could have used some upper arm armor piece or even a head unit cover or mask as those areas do look rather exposed. Although it wouldn't be accurate to the anime.. just a thought.. Still looks great anyways!

and im still surprised how relatively cheap price they asking for it! still kinda tempting to buy another for fighter mode display but something is telling me I don't need another just for that..

I'll have to agree that the Tornado's do look best in fighter mode! Good enough for me to want to splurge on a set? hmm im not so sure about that but its a thought that is in the back of my mind.. -
I simply don't see how friggin hard it has been for them to just get these done already! to me it makes way more sense to make these over the limited edition gun pod's they did.. Do they not see the insanely awesome potential of these in 1:60 scale!?!? my mind boggles..

you see that's why you need to buy multiples! so you can enjoy all the modes simultaneously! and if you do use any of the stickers you'll have to trim them down a bit cos they are a bit crappy..

The whole Transformers Jetfire thing really took the shine off the whole thing for me.. my cousin use to give me so much grief spouting crap that bcos Transformers were better than Macross (cos he always preferred TF's) and thats why they used it.. of course all nonsense i knew was crap but i still hated it anyways.
