seeing I already had a Yamato Cavaliers VF-1A, I had an Alaska Base greenie built from a assembly kit version and it looks fantastic! Sorry don't have photos on me but I definitely posted some of it in one of the threads in here.. Surprised Yamato never issued one. Probably as it made only a very brief appearance.. but they look very cool!

Yamato SV-51 Nora or VF-0A Arcadia,Which one should i get first?
spanner replied to thetrollphysicist's topic in Toys
its kinda like a double edge sward scenario with these two toys.. both built from different generations one being old school Yamato and the other a Arcadia renewal but both have their issues.. I don't think the SV-51 ever really fell to bits that often though I'll admit I picked them up rather late in my collection timeline and without much research and never any real intention to switch them out of fighter mode so the durability side of them wasn't a priority, but... they are rather loose'n floppy and not the nicest thing to handle. Though the tight & solid feeling Arcadia VF-0A had a tenancy to get "legless" if you know what I mean! As 505 mentioned, if you don't use the VF-0 leg hip extendy gimmick then you're gonna 99% safe with it but the risk is always ever present. But not all of them seemed to have that particular issue. I have two of them and extended the hips/leg on both without issue and they don't feel like they're about to fall off after doing so. The Arcadia VF-0 line are all great toys to look at and handle, clean & solid build feel. If you could stretch a little extra and pick up the VF-0S which is definitely the most improved of the bunch but if not then Shin's VF-0 is fine and you'll love it regardless. And as 505 also mentioned, there hasn't been any indication of Arcadia planning on a SV-51 renewal so maybe the VF-0 is the better buy considering the SV's can demand good money. Personally I'd go with the VF-0. -

hehe! yeah I kept the coffee cup a good whole meter away while gazing at the pics! very nice art work! sadly no chocolate cookies left to enjoy it with.. we had those really nice soft & moist Cadbury ones but some other selfish person gobbled them up while I was at work.. very strange from HLJ.. I wonder what they are up to with that? Hope they get you guys orders sorted soon! -

wanna sell me one of those sets for cheap! hehe! joking.. VF-1S looks sweet! but this is a DYRL ver. yes? meaning Arcadia released them in the brighter white rather than the off white? kinda does but I wonder what the quality of the material its made from is like..? this is another set I have pondered over many times but never pulled the trigger on.. what are they like in terms of build quality, accuracy and detail? Asking prices for them are reasonable I guess.. -

I'd probably need at least three sets of hands to count how many times I've come across this set wanting to buy it only to decide against it.. and once again here it is haunting me! I have noticed that they are becoming a lot less available than they were even 12 months ago! might have to have another look around.. :/ -
sounds pretty good! looks even better! really liking the look of the Fiat 124 over the Mazda MX-5 (Miata)..

the more conventional wing layout of the 31A is just super sexy! can't wait for the DX toy!

received my book! had a quick scan through and so far what I've seen looks deliciously wonderful! Can't wait to get home, sit down with a nice cup of coffee, a few chocolate cookies and gaze at all the beautiful artwork! -
my crystal ball let me down too many times so I threw it against the wall and it exploded into a thousand little pieces! even so 42k yen is the better part of $550 aud! i'd probably still buy it though! goes to show how weak the aussie dollar is as 42k yen is $410 usd..

that sucks.. gee im glad I didn't cancel my order with Amazon in favor of HLJ! and to think I was only one mouse click away from doing so then decided I'd stick with them.. I don't see why they would delay shipment of the books till October unless they didn't get any or enough stock to supply all the pre-orders.. unless they underestimated how popular it would be and didn't allocate enough? im guessing of course.. -

hehe! looks like it! I was even considering getting a second of this book so I can pull the book apart and separate the pictures but keep one minty fresh! but that's another $70 (aud) so I thought to hell with that idea.. -

YES!!! just got a call from the DHL courier driver, he has my parcel on his truck and will deliver directly to me at work today! Sweeeeet! -
I would have already pulled the trigger on a 1:3000 SDF-1 and spent upwards or over $1000 but the fact there is (even if only slight) chance Arcadia will re-issue it AND the fact its DYRL and not my preferred TV version are factors that have held me back.. But.. if Arcadia do re-issue it and its around 30 to 35k then even though its the DYRL version I'd definitely buy it!

I bought many of my master files & other books from Mandarake with little to no issues. As long as you buy items which clearly list the condition then you should be fine.
