  1. hehe! yeah but I had a lot of the cheaper stuff too like Bburago, Maisto etc.. but with my current collection I am avoiding those cheaper stuff and focusing on the more premium brands. I have 42 on display now and another on its way making 43! hehe! looks mad!
  2. I think the strengths in the Soviet / Russian fighters was their fuselage durability over anything else. They could keep flying for years with less worry about fatigue issues. I remember reading what a pilot said.. the structural maintenance was so minimal, all you did was fill and fly and repeat. Maybe in the more modern era with more sophisticated systems they became more prone to problems as they were still learning.. but that is a guess.
  3. Yes they do make a nice clean display don't they! When I had about 200 cars previously I had them all set up all over the place on book shelves and other pieces of furniture as I didn't have any display cabinets. This is my new display setup which I recently added three more glass shelves to make more space. I will also be getting six half depth shelves made so I can display 3 cars sideways above each existing shelf. Should look ok and make more room again as I have more cars coming and others on my wish list!
  4. so.... what if we just post pics of model cars rather than talking about them? Does that help!? LOL!
  5. Ditto what mechaninac said. Those GT Spirit look ok but I have never owned one as I dont buy solids models. They can also be expensive which sucks considering they have no opening parts. Yes you could pick up a UT models 993 turbo and they are ok. I had a couple in my former collection and they aren't too bad. But also not great. I think UT became Autoart if I remember correctly.. Autoart have a 993 which is a smidgen better but not a turbo and its not the best thing either.
  6. RIP Bill, such sad news to hear of his passing. I have to say my favorite part he played was Hudson from Aliens.
  7. great photos! the lighting really works well!
  8. I had a few TSM cars and at one stage had both the AA F1 GTR and TSM's version of the same thing. Side by side they both had their good and bad points but overall the AA model was a better thing so I sold the TSM mode. I had a CMC Porsche 901 but stupidly sold it off but I did buy a Valkyrie with the money so I guess it wasn't that stupid a thing to do. What I like about the CMC models are the finer detail points. The Porsche had wheel covers held on my magnets and the wheels could be removed bu unscrewing the actual wheel nuts! it was a crazy detailed thing! I do miss it but they are now too expensive to replace.. That Bugatti is stunning! I too like cars from the 30's but my with current collection they probably wouldn't really fit in all that well.. But who knows maybe one day I will broaden my display. What other cars you have? Well at least you were given the option to send the original back for a refund. Some shops won't accept that. Mind me asking, where did you buy that from? The 19P is the best of the VF-19 line!
  9. Good to see you were able to have it replaced!
  10. Thanks! The chest piece did click in or at least I heard a click but it still seems to want to pop off pretty easily.. maybe I still haven't fit it on correctly..?
  11. Hehe! You would be correct! Autoart has to be my favorite brand for these models. And wow! That P1 looks bloody brilliant! I have been eyeballing one for a while but they demand good money.. I'd love them to make a P1 GTR! That other model is beautiful too! Bugatti?Personally I prefer the more modern stuff.. or at least 1960's onwards. But I'd still appreciate it my collection!
  12. My RA parts arrived yesterday. Found them a little fiddly to fit up and the chest piece will pop off if you even think of touching it which is a bit painful.. also is a bit top rear heavy which makes posing options a bit limited and the pinkish white missiles also kinda shits me.. but overall I guess im pretty happy with how they look. Gald I only bought one set though!
  13. yikes! no way dude! that looks dreadfully tacky! yucky poos!
  14. nice Tomcat model! what scale is that? its a little small to be next to the 1/60 VF-1 though.. Even though I have a 1/48 Tomcat in Zero colors, I'd like to find something closer to the Valkyrie scale and have it customized the same way. But I don't think there are any 1/60 scale models out there..
  15. my just arrived at my door about 15mins ago!
  16. of course the Valkyrie / variable fighter element would still be there but could be shown much earlier in its development. How cool would it be seeing the early prototypes and their first test flights and testing combat effectiveness. Much more interesting than a sappy love story I reckon.
  17. when they shipped mine, they sent the email notification with the tracking number but it didn't show up as collected till the end of the following day..
  18. well I can't see why they couldn't continue with the F-15 platform as it still a perfectly capable fighter and could do with some upgrades to keep it at the forefront.
  19. they need to make a Macross mini series from just before Zero with pre-variable fighter aircraft such as those above and showing the early stages of the Valkyrie development before their deployment.. with no romance / love triangles..
  20. how did I miss this photo!?!? madness!
  21. good to hear you guys finally got it shipped out! Mine is with the courier driver for delivery today but the issue is someone won't be home all day so I could still miss it today..
  22. F#$% yeah! they look awesome!
  23. I reckon a Zero-D with a single seat cockpit would look mad! Love the delta layout!
  24. awesome!
