    Watched it. Still no real explanation that i can recall.. Seriously doubt Basara could best Max. He's good, but not THAT good. And as for Hayate, just watch the new movie..

    Agreed 100% . No one should be surprised by this. We all knew hg still retains its rights. Moving on.. Kawamori san is going to have to come up with a new hero valk. Or we will continue to see the 29 being reissued over and over. At which point, it's not very special anymore.

    As far as Lady M. We have yet to see who exactly this is. And how exactly, she can influence so many from so far out. I personally would like to see the next Macross installment steering away from all this and focus on other elements within the Galaxy and Macross universe. I like the SV-303. Though there is little technical data on it (or anything else) , it looks pretty cool. And it looks to be pretty high end , performance wise, generally speaking.

    Cool! There's a lot of cool stuff there. I see the SDF-1 build. Did she really do it or is she just a model too? Is that a custom paint job on a VF-1A? Can't quite make it out.

    Many movies have being made from fan service novels and comics and have done quite well with the general audience. And there's many a good story in the EU that can translate to the big screen that the general audience would gobble up. By general audience , i mean anyone that's heard of Star Wars. Yes ,there's a difference in writing for "fan service novels" and writing for the screen. But novels are translated to film all the time . And , it's fairly obvious, many a fan of SW have not enjoyed too much missed placed fan service in the more recent movies and series'. And some of the most successful Disney backed writers and producers in the current mix are EU fans.

    My 10 year old son will want to see this. I showed him the trailer and he was incredulous. I imagine it won't be any great masterpiece. But anyone who was hoping for more doesn't have their head in reality.

    There was way more thought, attention to continuity and proper story telling going on ,between a room full of writers doing their own thing, in the EU. Heck, the comics way better than most of what mouse ears has produced to date. Andor is certainly the exception so far.

    Holding out for the (BLUE) YF-21 Bandai promised/teased! Lol. Maybe the next Macross series or OVA needs a retro VF-22 storyline. I mean , they did Zero like decades after SDFM!
