Why Macross merchandises (toys) are relatively expensive?
Bolt replied to Vintage Fanboy's topic in Toys
The 1/60 and 1/48 toys are pretty high end. The details and paint schemes are beautiful. They look good in all 3 modes , maybe with a few exceptions, depending on personal taste. There are some quality control issues with some, but not all. Yes you are paying a premium, and yes the market will bear it. My suggestion is to find the ones you really want and keep your eyes peeled for the deals that come up here and there. The model kits are obviously much cheaper. And they look awesome. But that's a commitment or sits around unbuilt. The good news is that now Macross toys are being offered in a variety of scales. Such as the HMR line. They're cheaper than the larger scales , but look nearly as good and still transform well, pose well, and take up less space. -

The decals were released in 2003 by Hasegawa. And have been featured in Model Graphix Macross Archive. In fact, many of Hasegawa's "Macross Optional Delcal" sets have been featured in Model Graphix Macross Archive over the years. -
The last was a gripping episode. We get to see a glimpse of just how ruthless and bad Joel can be. But holy heck, we get to see what a bad ass Elle is.!

You make a compelling case@Shawn but Burgers King , Bandai is not. And you make it sound so easy.

Seen plenty in Clone Wars. Just not so much in Bad Batch.

That's a good point. About the multiple scales for the same toy lines. And i think Bandai is probing that potential. Because, lets face it, Macross hasn't been as popular (as Gundam for example) and has been hamstrung (globally) for so long. I'm glad that multiple options are becoming more and more available for everyone. Especially those that don't want to take on a resin or Hasegawa kit, or fork out hundreds of dead presidents for a toy.

And out the other one..

Looks so good! But what's up with the silver landing gear. This! -
Ah yes, very cool 👍🏼 Personally, I'd be satisfied with making it transform able, but needing to be disassembled and reassembled. Or even changing out different brackets to do so. Actually making it transform like a Transformer would be some kinda time consuming high end design and fabrication jobby.

I just caught the latest episode, missed it while tripping over myself to watch The Mandalorian. Now the plot thickens.. Overall, I enjoyed this episode. As usual, great eye candy.

That reasonably makes sense. Wait a minute, what about the "One night in Paris " dated 2013.?! It's printed on the decal ! That makes me think there must be a district called "Paris" on the Megaroad 0-1. Or a club, perhaps. Though i it all with a grain of salt, I do really enjoy the more obscure events and stories that make up the expanded Macross universe. I'm assuming it started that far back, but , as it's all unofficial in a "everything " is an in universe interpretation..🤷 That's the stuff i love.! I'm still planning on a VF-25 Queen's Knights. But I'm not sure how soon I'm getting to it yet, as I'm building my kits chronologically. And I'm still only on the Maiden Voyage of the Megaroad 0-1 era.. -

It's not an exact science. Or maybe it's too exact.. I was referring to the context of space operations that would necessitate greater need for fuel and thrusters. Though it's not official, is it possible this is where the VF-1 "Mnmay Guard" schemes emerged? As seen in Model Graphix and printed by Hasegawa. I'm assuming these were Minmay concert tribute schemes. The "Ashes to Ashes" , Full Moon party in Clavius(?) live act tour. That scheme has a very cute Minmay moon reference. Another is the "One Night In Paris" The VIVERATOR tour 2013 Lynn Minmay Live act 138 BPM Opening act DJ: Mauro Picotto . So I'm assuming that was planetside. The 3rd scheme, in this series , doesn't offer much clues. Just large decal letters"TB" , bright pink vipers in profile, and the squadron symbol bearing SSVF-336 "Black Clouds" . I've seen only a hand full of these schemes on actual models , none with the "Black Clouds" scheme. And I've always assumed these events took place before Lynn Minmei departed on the Megaroad-01. That seems obvious, but I haven't found much information anywhere, regarding these events. Just a thought..🤓 -
That is cool ! We need a variable F-4 ! But the art will suffice. That clamp hand gives it the pirate with a hook for a hand look.

Wow, you really hit that one quick! I'm sorry, I should have referenced the VFMF VF-1 Squadrons book. Ok cool. That's pretty much what I figured, but now have the context for said configurations . Thanks! They appear to be a good solution. Does the V-4 really perform better, or longer than these VF-1 Fast Pack versions? -

Concerning the many variants of the VF-1 Fast Packs. Am I correct in assuming the S-Fast Pack config ver. 1.1W-ST is simply an additional set of underslung boosters with additional thrust and a significant amount of extra propellent or fuel , but no other hardware or weapons systems ? As opposed to the ver. 1.1W, which are an additional set of underslung HMMP-02's. Which offer more thrust and more fuel ( but maybe not so much fuel as the 1.1W-ST.?) and the standard compliment of micro missiles. -
That's cool. I was thinking either a stand alone display or a simulation diorama. And it got me thinking about Isamu's simulator pod, lol.

So that's the official "box art"? A photo.?

That's an awesome piece there! You can tell it was done with scant details about skull squadron. That would be cool. And kind of sad at the same time. But I'm sure someone is going to do it.

Yup. That strike Valkyrie is new to mine eye balls as well. Thanks for dredging that up @Shawn 👍🏼
