A must have. Does anyone know which Island and fleet is illustrated in the background? Is this a Tenjin box art? It doesn't look like it to me..

@technoblue It's obvious Hordak is going to play a bigger role and is receiving some in depth character development . As to your "hidden content" musings, remember that Adora , though she is ultimately going theough the She-Ra experience as an individual, she has major back up and friends that are more like family now.

I'm glad to hear a more positive outlook here, concerning Musicalture. Was this project written or directed by Kawamori San? -

It’s majorly sad that, even though Kawamori San went to China, pacification doesn’t pay.. Us upper Cali west coast dwellers get props for Kawamori’s favoritism Frontier was probably one of the most affluent emigrant fleets, it’s quite taken for granted actually... You didn’t see any slums did ya, a la Macross 7..? In other words Frontier can afford special VF-25’s and the occasional YF-29.. -
Is his official SMS rank known? Would it correspond to his NUNS rank?

Awesome. Thanks for that! On a purely speculative note, what is Isamu doing for SMS? We see him at the end of the second frontier movie flying in to kick some major a$$(is he commanding a squadron here, or solo?) presumably he’s “matured” a bit and not such a loose cannon, so could perhaps lead a squadron (SMS special forces?) or he could be helping to develop or improve new fighters. But that could be boring for him at this point..

Hmm , ok. Thanks. I better recheck that article.. Now, about the VF-19 Advanced . I’m aware of how Isamu finagled his custom ride from his former team mate and chief engineer of the YF-19 project. And presumably this E/F(?) version is relatively modern compared to the VF-25. I’m assuming it’s Exgear equipped and such. And since ,as of Frontier, Dyson works for SMS, I’m also assuming he can upgrade it further.. the thrust of my inquiry is how relevant is Isamu’s VF-19 now? It’s quite a beautiful thing to behold . And , with him at the stick , probably VERY relevant. But how much more of a freak would he be in a YF-29 (guess he was actually, but wasn’t that a time travel thing?) Maybe at some point he’ll trade it in for a better version of the Siegfried, as he seems like a FS wing kind of guy now. Is the VF-19 Advanced featured in the VFMF? Or just the Macross Chronicles?

“Personally, I feel the time has come for Macross to get back to where it was with SDF Macross, DYRL?, and Macross II, where the only difference between the ace pilots and everyone else is a paintjob. The excuses for theprotagonists having better mecha than everyone else are getting a little careworn and reusing the idea of PMCs having better gear than the military is not sweetening it.“ It worked great for Frontier, I thought. But with Delta , it wasn’t so original. How about a Macross story about a NUNS squadron sporting VF-24’s.. oh right, that already sounds too serious and mature for the current target audience... -

Right. I realized right after posting that , each emigrant fleets has much more autonomy in choosing its main fighters , as well as, within limits, developing their own.. -

Apparently Macross Galaxy was the evil immigrant fleet..at least the upper echelons seemd so. There’s a story lurking there.. So what will the171’s eventually be phased out with? VF-25 & 31’s? -

My now 7 year old has been watching this, I ended up watching a fair bit of it with him and I must say it’s grown on me and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how dynamic it is. Like anything, it’s not perfect but I think it’s pretty good.

The monitor turret (head) of the VF-25G looks almost identical to the VF-25A. Along the lines of @Sir Galahad® question, is it just in the sniper rifle? I noticed Bandai has done the 1/72 VF-25F Armored “Alto” with sniper rifle.(Ordered it from Mandrake) It looks to be the same rifle as the G version. I didn’t notice this variant in the VFMF VF-25... -

I think the VF-25 May be a better all around performer. But I’m biased. I prefer it over the 31 in most cases. Nice Avatar change up @Seto Kaiba -
I’m not sure it brushes past it , so much as focuses on the much larger picture surrounding the issues with bringing Macross to the west. It seems many industry insiders are privy to the myriad of legal issues and complications which have stacked up over the decades. Justin did a decent job of laying it out for the masses , without speaking details because, as we know, many are being kept secret and behind closed doors. And to attempt to quote industry insiders would be hearsay, even if it was accurate.
