Honestly, I have no idea why the broken landing gear was even added to the story. It was so lame. At least in TFA , when the Falcon crashes through tree tops and comes sliding to a stop on a cliff edge, it was coming out of hyper drive in the atmosphere..

I don't think it would be considered a "perfect transformation " if you had to swap out the legs for different modes. Also, all the other valks on your display shelf would be laughing at it..

I can't give technical reasons or comparisons,( those are forthcoming from those who know) , but it is well known the VF-4 was most optimized for outer space, over atmosphere. There seemed to be obvious reasons for Megaroad 0-1 to need these designs. While it still probably had plenty of VF-1's aboard. -

Yep. Tis true. Imagine how cool (and not cute) it would have been if ROTJ took place on Kashyyyk.. So it's just Lando, Chewbacca, C-3PO & R2D2 now.. everyone else is dead..
