Ya so, season 1 was based on book 1. And , for the most part remained somewhat faithful to that. In other words strong background material for the writers. They didn't have to work as hard tweeking the story to suit the tv format or their mood. Though they did make some strong fundamental changes in "the world" of Takeshi Kovacs, it remained mostly intact. Season 2 was based on...um taking parts of book 2 and parts of book 3 and mashing them together badly. The story and main focus was way off from both sources. I could go on (and on) how and why these elements diverge badly from the books, but you get the idea. No need for the gory details. The writers failed. Also, a major point, Kovacs is several hundred subjective years old. He's pretty much seen and done and died everything. And he's a bit jaded. There's no way something like "love" is gonna turn him into such a touchy feely envoy. He's who he is regardless of what's ( or who's ) in front of him. That's not to say he's heartless and unfeeling. He is the good guy after all. But his character was written to intentionally break "good guy" tropes. And season2 falls head first into those good guy tropes. Also , he was never in love with anyone mentioned .Except Ortega from book 1. And even that is well tempered down to cold steel. This whole find your lost love deal , is all on the bad writing. Maybe it could've been done better. Bit it wasn't. Having ranted too long about that (thankfully i left a lot out) , i will say that for what it was , I enjoyed watching it. Believe it or not. I hope they can pull their head out and do a proper season 3.. a gritty war drama with destroids

There's always the 1/48 launch arm. Looks something like this. Seeing a 1/72 here but it's very similar.. I bought a 1/48 launch arm off @mslz22 a few years back. Been thinking of off loading it. Wanted to make sure the kit is complete before listing it. Been bugging @mslz22 for months on any pics of it as I couldn't find any existing on this forum anymore . Where it was originally featured..

Macross has many older die hard fans indeed. But it's constantly picking up a steady stream of younger ones. Massively so. In fact, Macross has quite a healthy fan base from most generations since SDFM to Delta. RT..not so much.

We have some time to see. Probably comics and books will be first. And existing shows, Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, Etc. May be retconning 420 Republic references into their stories now.

Finished season 2. Phew.. I'm satisfied with the wrap up. They could explore a season 3. But it could easily be the end of that. It certainly jumped the rails right away and the ending was no different. All in all a good show IMO.

As i said about a week ago. Something is going to be worthy. Yup Yup, yup. I'll be combing thru all the new , forthcoming content as it comes. And i will praise the high points. And bemoan the low. So here's to a long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away..

Maybe Bandai will slip up and be generous Ya DYRL version. Old news . Still a tease I believe as it's being shown with Hikaru and Max VF-1A's Personally DYRL valks are way more likely to loosen my man purse
