Darth Maul is cool . And a crowd pleaser . But we pretty much have his whole story from Phantom Menace and on. It will be interesting to see what this turns out to be.

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

That looks pretty cool. I've been noticing those 30mm kits as of late , in my ongoing "quest for cool kits".

@$100 US, it's cheap enough to consider. But the shipping may be a deal breaker.. Soldier mode is acceptable, with some mods. Fighter mode is a travesty. Diver mode is kinda ok..kinda..

Those look like Macross The Ride inspired paint schemes. More of a civilian flavor.

General Sci-fi designs across various media
Bolt replied to M'Kyuun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You guys really bring me back to my youth , loving so much Sci- fi for the first time. So many great and influential artists.! I know this conversation has mostly been on the classics, a well deserved topic . One of my more current favorites , concerning Sci-fi style designs is Tsutomu Nihei . He's mostly in manga but his stuff has also been animated. His most famous work,IMO, being BLAME. I love his story telling with little to no dialogue. His work features landscapes of endless cyber dungeons and vast vistas. Also his dark fantasy cyber tech is super cool. Some of his stuff, like knights of Sedonia is approachable, if you like his style and not so dark and gorry in content. Others like Biomega and Abara are very intense and not for kids. I haven't read all of Aposimz ( just finished book 3) but I'm very much enjoying it. It's also more tame than the other two previously mentioned. Also ,his style has evolved to match the tone of his story telling. -
Received my Miria 639 yesterday. It's interesting to note , I received another order a few days before that i had shipped weeks after. Maybe they're finally catching up on shipping orders..
-
I saw that. Still going to hold off as i would only be getting it for the figures. And with the crazy shipping costs, it's not very interesting. That sounds like a fun visit. I hope you waved hello to all my stuff languishing in the warehouse I shipped one if my Rau's and a Glaug and a VF-11w boosters and Rim world vF-171 and a few other items. Ouch! But it's arriving today The next shipment is going to cost more..

Personally, I'm not going to rush out to get these. I think it's a bit of a gimmick. Admittedly, these "smart bricks " , that can react to each other with laser play and play SW music , may be fun, but I don't see this as a must have. But LEGO will probably make a killing on this new technology, as the younger generations will eat it up. And hey, they have to stay on top of their game, right? And i'm sure we will now be seeing the same technology in their Marvel, Ninjago, Harry Potter, etc. etc. offerings in the coming years.

Yes. It's not the same.
