I think I'll work on DYRL gubaba style before I get the COTB movie trailer done. I just don't have a clear idea how to present COTB in a movie trailer just now. For DYRL gubaba, I just need to fix up a custom dyrl movie title and touch up the end credits, so probably done by Tuesday. I was just thinking that I could do a quick Macross plus remastered OVA with english dub for this week. Or maybe get some Macross 7 plus extra videos subtitled. We'll see. So, if anybody would like to put together a COTB movie trailer into an avi, then I'll include that in the dvd.
-
I just saw that the end credits on the .avi are cut off a bit on the left or right side of frame. The original mpeg video file has end credits that look just the way I was expecting them to be, so the culprit software for the video glitch would be Muxman software changing the resolution slightly to the original mpeg when converting into a dvd vob file. The dvd version will have end credits that aren't chopped off because I'll be importing the original COTB mpeg directly into DVDlabpro for the dvd. Otherwise, I thought COTB looks really good and is now almost bearable to listen to all the bad english voice actors. ************* I'm playing around with a movie trailer for COTB now. This might take me a little while. I'm not sure if I'll use alternate macross music or try to make it funny.

The two colour pictures are from the VFX Flight Manual. If you like colour, then these pictures are best and if you like seeing front and back B&W pictures then the other book is best.

Clash of the Bionoids special edition (COTB) update: I just finished timing and fixing up the english audio to match up with the remastered DYRL video. It took me a while because of the custom ending credits had to be matched up to all 3 audio files. Video encoding of COTB with TMPEnc software will be finished up by tomorrow. Then I use MuxMan sofware to turn the encoded mpeg video file and wave audio file into a dvd vob file. From that .vob file, I use AutoGK to crank out the avi file for uploading to rapidshare. The xvid avi of COTB will most likely be available by the end of this week on iMacross4. Also, I found I need to redo the japanese audio for the COTB because the audio didn't finish encoding for the full movie. Then that leaves the COTB movie trailer, the Zero music video, Zero ep1 preview trailer. Zero ep. 1 dvd cover and a couple of dvd menus to sort out. That'll keep me busy for another month. Then I can either work on version 5 of SDF DYRL extended or remastered Macross Plus extended. **** I also posted on youtube a music video fan edit of "the song of an Angel's paints" from Macross Flashback 2012; which is the custom dyrl ending credit sequence that I have been fussing over.

Live Action Movies with Giant Robot/Mecha Thread
boinger replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I did a google search on the 0079 video game. The game is only 30 minutes, so what's on youtube is the whole video game story. Here's a review of the 0079 video game. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/review/R33843.html The japanese voice actors are the same from the anime, but the voices don't match well with the bad acting. *************** There's also mecha in Matrix 2 and 3 and Aliens II with Ripley taking on the alien queen. -
I bought both books off of ebay for a potential vfx video project. A lot of pictures of the Milky Dolls group in both books, some cool line art that is mostly found in Shoji Kawamori Design Works and some bad cgi vf s. But, there are very few pictures of miltary uniforms. You can have a look at all the uniforms from the vfx books right here.

I just remember how badly I wanted that Gundam: war for earth video game and I could not find it anywhere 10 years ago. It looks pretty neat with the cgi mobile suits. The ham acting and the bad japanese dub don't help. I almost wish that somebody posted up on youtube all 40 minutes of the video game to make a complete movie, but I've seen enough gundam for my lifetime. Thanks! -

Shonen Ace - Macross Frontier Manga, Chapter 6

Thank you, Ack Em! Thank you, Broody! -
I double checked the Macross Zero ep 1 english dub audio from the .wmv files and the .wav audio file and the audio gaps are both there. The main audio drop when the vf0s flies in is actually supposed to be there. I can touch up the two quiet moments on the beach with shin, sara and mao with the audio from the dvd and fill in the quiet spot at the main title for the mini DVD. Otherwise, the posted macross zero ep1 dub .avi is good to go. I updated the the first post for future Macross Fan Edit projects to reflect all the possible Macross Drama CDs that Gubaba and Renato are working on for translation. That's a lot of fan edits! Anybody who would like try to do one can send me a pm. COTB update: I'm having a difficulty getting Womble video editor to output the end credits of COTB at 23.98 fps through the TMPEG encoder. I keep ending up with 30 fps video that is mismatched with the audio. I'll keep trying until I get it.

UPDATE: (thanks EXO!) ******* I updated my first post to say that I was able to get Hikuro's Macross Zero episode 1 with better video quality as an .avi file, 4 parts under the Macross Zero folder on iMacross4. Use HJSplit software to reintegrate to avi file. Mini DVD of M zero ep1 will take me a little while longer. Any comments or suggestions to improve the beginning and end credits are welcome. I thought I had the custom COTB end credits ready to plug in to the COTB movie and then found that the audio was way off and the video had glitches. I'm working on the end credits tomorrow. Then the english audio this week. COTB is slowly coming along, but it's getting there.

So, the most up to date info would be posted here on Macross World and I would switch over to my website only when needed.

I've been disconnected from shoutcast. I'm not sure why. Managed to stay on line with shoutcast from 9 pm yesterday to 2: 14 pm today. That's it for iMacross4 radio. I just thought I would try it out.
-
Has anybody thought of doing a Macross World streaming radio show? I was looking at the Macross Generation website and saw that they had a radio show. www.shoutcast.com software works with winamp software for streaming radio. I'm not sure if a streaming radio station is something for me, since I do a lot of downloading and uploading to the iMacross server on a regular basis and I don't have a realy good radio voice. To set up Shoutcast radio on Winamp: 1. winamp installed 2. shoutcast client installed a. winamp options b. preferences c. DSP/effect d. Shoutcast source e. click on configure f. Connection: i. type in your ip address ii. type in your isp password, which is the same password as in your shoutcast server config txt file iii. output 1 iv. encoder 1 set at 96 kb/s v2, 441000 stereo AAC (update: I think AAC sounds better than mp3 at higher bit rates.) v. port 8000 ; you have to double check to see that this port is open on your router or firewall vi. connect at start up checked m. Yellow pages: i. Radio name : iMacross4 Radio ii. urls name: http://www.shoutcast.com iii. enble title updates checked iii. Genre: Film/Show 3. shoutcast server installed a. click on "edit config" to bring up the config text file b. scroll down to 2nd paragraph and type in your isp password, instead of "any" c. close and save config text and restart shoutcast server 4. www.myipaddress.com to find out my ip address 5. password from isp modem I'm currently broadcasting as " iMacross4 Radio " Macross World Radio would be a better name though. You can also listen for shoutcast streaming radio with videolan player. 1. click on "playlist" on top bar of videolan 2. manage 3. services discovery 4. shoutcast radio listings 5. Film 6. iMacross4 Radio (video lan crashed on me in the middle of doing this, so winamp looks like it's more stable than videolan.) Have a listen to see if it's worthwhile. Macross song collections are in play for testing purposes at 96 kb/s stereo AAC. I asked Gubaba if he could listen how well the radio broadcast is working. If we could have a volunteer from the audience to host the radio show at a higher kb/s, then all we need to do is figure out a radio show play list. Some ideas I have so far are: 1. Macross music 2. Macross dramas (The dramas are interesting to hear, but if you don't speak Japanese, like me, then you have to wait for a future translation to enjoy them. Maybe, original Macross dramas or Hikuro's english Macross dubs?) 3. Macross toy reviews 4. Macross anime reviews, e.g. DAPDX, etc. 5. Macross book reviews 6. Macross convention news 7. Latest updates to Macross World 8. Macross interviews with MW members about their Macross experiences in a Macross-like way 9. ??? *** Updated with new bitrate, radio set up and videolan settings.

Wow! Your Hikaru and Mippa vocals were spot on! I thought Hikaru vocals sounded a bit tinny and little bit hollow for sound quality compared to Misa's vocals, but that was really good for a test. I hope you rest up from your holidays to get your energy back to work on your DYRL and Macross Zero projects. Way to go!

Thanks Graham! -
This "new" mecha graffiti is a keeper. I'll upload to the imacross4 server asap. I know I can fix the vhs banding by doing a little video editing cropping. I'll fix that banding later when I put this video together with an M 20th updated subtitles dvd.
