Remaster SDF Macross episode 30
subtitled by Galaxy Network
bittorrent is now available!
Seed when you can, thanks!
*****************************
Two or more weeks ago, Chad gave me his video encode of remastered sdf ep 28.
I have not put together the adv audio and uploaded that episode due to the large
amount of uploading I've done lately.
I have been updating the Macrosshare website for Frontier TV series and the 1st movie.
Now I am uploading and fixing up the remastered Macross 7 post for this week.
I think I will post up the special edition remastered SDF TV episodes
00-28 on Macrosshare next.

Back on Topic:
I sent off a cheque last month to Philip Santini and he
emailed this month to confirm that he has received the payment.
Now, my HLD-X0 is going to the Pioneer service outlet to get
checked over and have any small worn out parts replaced.
Philip is going to confirm my last payment amount < $500 CAN
and then it will be shipped out to me.
Hurray!
Since, I was lucky enough to pick up a Monster Entech SVSI-1, the
Amery BNC to RGB conversion box does not look to be needed.
Windows 7 seems to be running stable for me, so I can start installing
Hauppauge HD PVR and see if I can find my copy of After Effects.
Multiupload.com looks to be a very good way for distributing large files
like the LD rips.

markcell posted this weblink in the Macroshare shoutbox.
Phonic Nation
I am not sure if it is a concert or a documentary.

Macrosshare website UPDATE:
I fixed up the Frontier TV post on the front webpage, mostly.
The Frontier TV post comics and miscellaneous section do not work properly
on the front webpage.
But, if you click on the "Series" section of Macrosshare website, then
the Frontier TV post for comics and miscellaneous work just fine.
I asked (requested deletion) / (requested deletion) (admin) if he knew what the html bug
was for the front webpage Frontier TV post.
Otherwise, I could post one more Macross item from Archive Scan and
then people would likely just click on the "Series" weblink.
I re-organized and added on a quite a few OST weblinks to the OST section.
Macross Frontier movie post is slowly being updated due to the large video
file sizes.
If anyone has a better version of the Frontier subtitle file, then I would like
a copy for Macrosshare. Thanks!
The Macrosshare postings can include off-site or forum weblinks
because my rapidshare account is 109+ gb so far.
Rapidshare has a limit set for permanent file storage set at
109 gb. Anything above 109 gb has a 1-3 month limit if the file
is not downloaded. -

OptimusX released subtitled remastered SDF Macross disc 7
on asiandvdclub.org last week.
I have been uploading a lot of missing Macross Frontier BD TV files to
Macrossshare website in an effort to get Macross Share website updated.
Macross Frontier movie video files on Macross Share will follow soon after.
Hopefully, the fan sub groups will have movie translated in the couple of weeks
it will take to get most of the Macross Frontier postings available.
If anyone has a collection of Frontier subtitles files that they can share, then send me
a pm. I already posted AonE subs and THORA subs on Macross Share.

(requested deletion) admin, of Macross Share website, has allowed me to update his website.
I will be transferring the remaining rapidshare iMacross4 weblinks to
the Macross Share website and doing a lot of uploading.
I'll try to do a good job to get Macross Share ready for the Macross Frontier movies!
With the help of (requested deletion) and, hopefully, markcell (Macross audio aficionado),
I cannot go too far wrong.
Both markcell and (requested deletion) are spanish and english bilingual.
So, don't be afraid to post on the Macross Share forum in english.
I use babelfish for an almost comprehensible translation of what's going on in the
the Macross Share forum.
I know that some rapidshare files went missing on Macross Share:
MII video files, Macross 20th DVD and avi, etc.
So, those files will eventually get fixed.
Rapidshare is still a viable option for file sharing and with jDownloader software,
you can just copy over the weblinks and have the downloads automated.
With jDownloader software, I also have the useful option of making batch file downloads into
one DLC file. So, one easy file to download from Macross Share loads up all the rapidshare
weblinks into jDownloader.
I have a bunch of Macross files to get sorted first.
Then I'll go through Macross Share postings to check for missing weblinks, create DLC files
and upload a whole bunch of Macross files as I go along.
Comments and suggestions can be posted on the Macross Share forum
or you can pm me on the MW or Macross Share forum. -
Nicolas got back to me finally. Hurray!
So, I'll figure if 2 payments or 1 work better for the HLD-X0.
***********
I thought LD preservation and restoration was a good idea.
I already wrote up my reasons at the beginning of this thread.
Maybe, I'll actually learn something.
In terms of not having a car to conserve energy:
In Winnipeg, the temperatures go down to -35 or 45 Celsius for 2 - 3 months and
another 3 months of weather that is not quite that cold.
The bus service in Winnipeg is appalling. A 15 minute car ride to work at the
hospital then becomes 1 1/2 hours to get there by bus. I know that quite well when
I did not have a car for half of this summer. In the winter, I would be standing
outside in -35 Celsius weather for over an hour waiting for a bus or walking
the rest of the way to work. I already did that when I was a student nurse
many years ago. Now I work nights, so there is nobody to ask for car-pooling.
That's why I do what I do.
************
I could talk about cars and accidents for at least an hour
I like the car I have now ('10 Corolla); it drives nicely; let's move on.
***************
Just in case I haven't mentioned it before, Macross Aria looks really cool!
And those Macross game models and youtube videos are pretty neat!
I wish you both well in your Macross endeavors.

Nicolas Santini came back from his vacation August 28.
He was telling me that his uncle, whom I had been writing the
HLD-X0 LD cheques to,
was going to go for vacation in September.
So, I sent Nicolas an email Sept 22 to see about getting the rest of the
HLD-X0 LD player paid for and shipped.
After getting a new car this summer, I have a bank line of credit for just
these sort of large purchases.
Now, it's been over a week and I haven't heard from him.
Currently, he is selling a couple of LD items on ebay and his website hasn't been
updated since May.
I'll see if I get a response from him on ebay.
-
Rapidshare has updated its software again.
Almost all the iMacross4 files have been removed from the
separate rapidshare folders or deleted. Currently, the only Macross files in the
right folders are in the SDF TV remastered folder.
300 out of the original 1000+ files on iMacross4 are still available, but
just as list of files on Rapid share, but not in the right folders.
Either I upload the 1000 + files and put them back into
folders the way I had them or just post the
rapid share weblinks directly to the iMacross server FAQ thread.
Macross Share website has reportedly survived intact with a few
rapidshare weblinks lost. Maybe, it was due to the password protection
on the Macross files or that the files were posted as weblinks or
the Macross Share is a publicly accessible website.
Either I try to get a hold of (requested deletion) of Macross Share and work
together to update the Macross Share website,
or
do the long process of getting iMacross4 back up to date
or
just keep iMacross4 for special projects. -
Now on iMacross4:
remastered SDF Macross TV
episode 27
(Special Edition)
Chad Dunham's updated sdf tv video
+ Galaxy Network subtitles
+ remastered japanese audio
+ adv english audio
8 parts each episode, HJSplit
********************
Gubaba has been busy working and translating White Reminisces.
SDF eps. 29 and 30 are under review before release.
My upload speed for bittorrent is around 50 kb/s, so just PM me if
you would like to download the SDF COTB 2.1 DVD.
I'm currently uploading the rest of the remastered SDF special edition
mkv videos to iMacros4, since most of iMacross4 Macross files were deleted by
Rapidshare.
Macross Share survived the Rapid Share purge a lot better than iMacross4.
I'll see if iMacross4 and (requested deletion) Macross Share website
files can be merged and maintained.
First, I'll get the Macross files on my hard drive organized as much as I can
and then send a contents summary to (requested deletion) to see what can be added
on to the Macross Share website.
OptimusX is finishing up remastered SDF DVD 07 and plans to make this DVD
available on asiandvdclub next week. -
With the assistance of Raul2106, I put together a
private bittorrent for SSF Macross COTB 2.1 DVD.
This version is also hosted on asiandvdclub and went
missing from mininova.
Super Space Fortress Macross : Clash of the Bionoids special edition
Dual layer DVD
ISO format
version 2.1
7.39 gb
You can use Imgburn software to record the iso file to dual layer dvd.
Or you can convert the dual layer DVD to single layer with DVDShrink.
1. Rename the .iso to .rar and extract the original DVD with Winrar software.
2. Install DVDShrink and open the Video_TS file in the extracted DVD and check
under options that single layer is used.
3. Record new single layer with Imgburn.

I was able to get Womble video editor and Powerdirector installed and working
on Windows 7.
And I'll need to time out sdf episode 30 for Galaxy Network release.

OptimusX found a bootleg recording of the Macross Crossover Live Concert!
Only the CD single has been released; the DVD does not look like it will
be done any time soon.

Now on iMacross4:
remastered SDF Macross TV
(Special Edition)
Chad Dunham's updated sdf tv video
+ Galaxy Network subtitles
+ remastered japanese audio
+ adv english audio
8 parts each episode, HJSplit
****************************
Quite a few Macross files missing on iMacross4.
I only have remastered sdf tv episode 22-26 for this series.
Since Rapidshare has different account types,
most of Macross 7 series is gone and all the rest of the series seems to be missing.
Megaupload tends to delete files at random if copyright infringement is suspect.
Rapidshare seems to be working okay so far.
I've had to upgrade to Windows 7 due to an attempt to fix virus damage.
No Macross files were lost in the process.
But, I still need to re-install most of my video and audio software.
Womble video editor looks like it is working much better now on Windows 7 than Vista.
I can get some audio editing done for sdf special edition 27, thanks to Chad.

Good news!
It looks like I'll be able to copy over the vista64 files over to the new hard drive.
The administrator ownership of the C: went missing and lost its ability to boot up.
I suppose that was because I was changing around the ownership permissions to get some programs (like Womble, etc) to properly run and install.
I am currently getting the ownership for all the files on this hard drive to transfer the
files onto the new hard drive. Then I'm likely to do an upgrade to Windows 7 and use the
old hard drive for storage back ups.
Well, I was planning to get another hard drive and upgrade to Windows 7, but
I just have to do it the hard way.
-
I'm not sure what to do.
Corrupted Vista64 C: hard drive cannot be accessed by
xp 32bit on my mini hp laptop to back up onto DVD-R discs.
Does any one know if I do an installation of vista64 over the current damaged vista64, then
do I erase all the files under my documents and on desktop?
Or maybe, I could buy a new hard drive and install vista64 on it, so that I could try to
get this corrupted vista64 hard drive accessible?
I have a 100+ gb of Macross video files and pictures and other stuff
that I didn't want to lose and I was backing up files this week, too.

UPDATE:
I was able to contact Windows Live through the hotmail message board
and get my old email password reset through my new hotmail account.
So, quite a few people will have received spam email from me, sorry about that.
*****************
Aug 20/10 UPDATE
Main desktop computer re-infected with same viruses again.
Complete crash of Vista64.
sfc/scannow does not work, no system restore files found, chkdsk did not repair errors,
fixmbr and fix boot did no good, no safe mode available:
only "autochk program not found" message and reboot loop
I'm going to take out the c: drive and back up the files with min HP pc and external burner. That will take a few days.
Then I'm going to install Windows 7 and slowly get my computer back together again.
-
My hotmail account appears to be hacked!
I am unable to use my regular hotmail password.
When I attempt to reset my password, my secret answer has been
changed and the new password gets sent to my hotmail account that
I don't have access to.
Send me a PM if you're not sure who this is.
I tried sending MSN hotmail an message about getting my emails forwarded
to my new email address, but I'm not sure what else to do.
I have a whole bunch of stuff on ebay and the HLD-X0 to worry about right
now.

15 parts, HJSplit

Check in the Xvid codec settings that the decoder is set to high quality.

The Santini Family will be back from holidays at the end of August.
It looks like I'll probably send 2 more payments to finish paying for the HLD-X0
by October.
This week on ebay, I picked up M+ OAV 1-4 CLV for $60 US and a Monster Entech
SVSI-1 video box. The SVSI-1 supposedly reduces/eliminates dot-crawl on LD playback.
We'll see.
Other than upgrading Nero software to version 10 and paying for the last
installments on the HLD-X0, I think I'm just about ready to get this project going.
The next step would be to get comfortable with using the software and hardware
to actually do the LD preservation.
DYRL LD preservation would be extra work because I hope to do some repair work on
the film itself.
***
3 weeks ago, I was able to find a car, 2008 Toyota Corolla 29km, and my Dad helped me out.
So, it's been a busy summer for me.

So far, I've been looking at MegaUpload and Mediafire for replacement homes for iMacross4.
Megaupload $20 per 3 months to minimize adverts and easier up/downloading.
I tried Megaload once last year and found the uploading/downloading and file management software to be barely usable. Maybe, I would use the free Unlimited uploads for temporary large files?
Mediafire $20 per month, no adverts, 250 gb would be just enough for most of iMacross4, but not quite enough for LD preservations or Macross Fan Edits. I watched the Mediafire video demo and it looks to be what I would like.
Yesterday, I sent an email to Rapidshare to tell them how disappointed I am with the current Rapids method. Hopefully, a few thousand other people send Rapidshare emails and close their accounts to push Rapidshare back to what it was last year. I still find Rapidshare very handy for faneditforum website.
I have almost a month left (543 Rapids) for Rapidshare, so that gives me some time to think about what to do next.
-
iMacross Crisis:
This week Rapidshare has done some major changes to the way they
charge for accounts.
This rapidshare problem applies to Macross Share website, iMacross4 and Archive Scans.
Today, I was put into a Medium Rapids account that only does 20 "Rapids" a day, 50 GB server space/month and 5 gb downloading/day (maybe?) for $26 CAN/month.
That is a 100% price increase and a huge download restriction.
All of a sudden I was given 21 "Rapids" for today and my Rapidshare premium account for iMacross4 will be closed tomorrow!
Even though, I had registered my premium account for the next month?!
http://rapidshare.com/news.html
RapidMedium account:
Per month
$26 CAN
50 gb server space
20 Rapids/day take from account
(1 gb of downloading = 5 rapids, potentially 4 gb downloading maximum/day. *****
It does not matter whether I actually download 4 gb/day, I still get 20 Rapids/day used up in my account and then I have to renew my acount!)
I was able to delete enough files in my rapidshare account to get
below the 50gb server space limit on the RapidMedium account that I am currently in. Then I converted a bunch of rapidshare premium and collector's into 621 Rapids.
Temporarily switched over to a "Rapidbig" account to get a larger 200gb server space in order to prevent Rapidshare from randomly deleting files, which used up 58 "Rapids" within 5 minutes. So, I now have just 563 "Rapids"!
Then I switched back to Rapidmedium account, since I would have to pay $64 to renew my account within the next week if I wanted to have a Rapidbig account.
Rapidbig account:
Per month
$64 CAN
200 gb server space
78 Rapids/day
Potentially 20 gb downloading/day
I can't figure out how much I'm allowed to upload or download
because everything is in terms of "Rapids".
I don't see when my account is due for registration renewal and
I read I now have only 5 gb download per day restriction.
What a bunch of BS!
********************************
I might have to abandon Rapidshare completely due to the high cost and bandwidth restrictions.
Megauploads might be an option.
Any other suggestions?
**********
(edited heavily, since I'm still trying to figure out what Rapidshare is doing.
This is so confusing!)
-
$1320 US more to go.
1st post update.
Nicolas, the guy I'm getting the HLD-X0 from, is off for vacation next
month and his uncle and his family, who transfers my cheque payments
over to Nicolas, is also on holidays until end of August.
Either one big payment in September or two payments finishing up in November.
********
A delay for payments on the HLD-X0 is just as well,
since I can't send a payment for next month due to
my car being rear-ended last week.
I'm expecting a phone call any day now to say that the car repairs
are more than the worth of my car. It was 100% the other person's
fault, but I'm still going to have to buy a "new" used car.
No injuries, just a lot of money for me to spend on a new car instead
of an HLD-X0 LD player.
(My dad gave me this car two years ago because he felt I should have a good car and
not like the last 2 beater cars I spent a lot on repairs. It was a '93 toyota corolla
with 77,000 km on it and a little bit of rust. I could have driven it for 10 more years.)
-
I just watched it now.
It's really good!
Thanks for putting this together!

How does the Macross: The First SDF-1 by Mikimoto look like?
I can imagine Yamato could repackage the 1 3000 Fortress with
TV style arms and paint job and get away with it.
I'd like the original SDF-1, please.
Here's a picture of someone's 1/5000 WHAM DYRL fortress in
SDF TV style.
