The computer and electronics super geek thread
boinger replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hello Gubaba: Good news! The problem with your VLC subs can be fixed by either re-installing VLC with default settings or setting to default the extra software that does the soft subtitle formatting for VLC, such as VobSub that is included with the CCCP Codec pack/ K-lite codec pack. When I play GN remastered SDF TV ep 34, the subtitles appear the same as the mplayer picture you posted. -
I'm looking forward to re-watching DYRL with your new audio mix! Will this DYRL english audio project be in stereo or 5.1 audio? Just wondering, since I would like to know more about how 5.1 audio editing can be done.

So far, I bought 2 of each of the destroids Yamato made, but I didn't go for the more expensive detailed up versions. If exclusives are the only way to buy the remaining destroid toys, then I would save up my pennies and still buy 2 variations of each new destroid toy.

The FB2012 remastering issue could be just dropped from the bluray remaster \ and just have the bluray movie as the DYRL theatrical release. That would save them the bother and expense of re-animating FB 2012. If the FB2012 video were to be re-animated, then why not add on and re-animate a couple of the Sega Saturn DYRL cut scenes or even the very short Max and Milia marriage scene that were originally part of the DYRL script?

Variable Fighter Master File VF-25 Messiah

Oh, I didn't know that. Now I'm registered with HMV Japan and the VF-25 magazine is on the way! Thanks! -
Variable Fighter Master File VF-25 Messiah
boinger replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Movies and TV Series
Would the VF-25 issue likely be re-issued? I had the magazine on order with Hobby Link Japan for the last 3 weeks and now this magazine is "discontinued"! http://www.hlj.com/product/SOF36208 -
Then apart from digitally painting out some of the film grain to keep the film detail, I have to expect film grain is always going to be a part of DYRL movie. Would Char's Counter-Attack bluray be comparative to what we could expect for DYRL bluray? The 2nd version CCA bluray is supposed to be out in June 2011. CCA best DVD to CCA BD DYRL remastered DVD to DYRL BD?

What bothers me is that the subtitles are not timed properly for the zentradi dialogue and the beginning Macross Fan Edit logo still has the wrong aspect ratio. The video looks to be from the dhe dyrl mkv I posted on imacross4 a while ago. I was hoping that someone would look at what I did for a fan edit and make their own attempt.
-
I wonder what other special features could be included with the DYRL bluray? The limited edition DYRL set had: 1. illustrated script book 2. line art book 3. DVD booklet 4. theatrical edition unremastered DYRL movie DVD 5. a DVD of special video features a. dyrl trailers b. psx video remastered cut-scenes

Thank you Renato for pointing out that Gameboy Macross 7 Reveal the galaxy's heart is already available on Macrosshare! I try to keep the Macross files organized. I thought that there was a Macross video on Macross Ace Frontier, since there was one UMD video on Macross Ultimate Frontier. On wikipedia, it says that the Ace Frontier UMD movies were just the openings and endings of the series plus a Kawamori interview. I wonder if the openings and endings on the Ace Frontier UMD were credit-less? If someone knows for sure that the Frontier series openings and endings are credit-less, then Hikuro would like to know for his Frontier anime dubbing project. Also, I went over to the old Macross Compendium website and copied over some more information for the Macross games onto the Macrosshare request list. See above post for updated request list. I would prefer to find the PC CD-rom games or a computer file that could be played on a game emulator. Maybe, if someone had one of those older handheld Macross games, then s/he could do a video review and upload to youtube. That would be cool! If anyone has already scanned some older Macross material and would like to share, then you can send me a pm or TwinkiePlatter of Archive Scans. For the last 6 months, I have been working on collecting the older out of print Macross magazines and furoku for Macrosshare. It's going to take a long while to get them posted up though. I've been holding off posting new Macross Frontier items (e.g Trial Frontier) on Macrosshare because most of these items are still readily available.

I am always on the look-out for the older Macross media. But, I have given up on a couple of potential sources for Macross 7 audio cassettes. That leaves Yahoo Japan auction as the most likely place to find older Macross items. Mark Cell has found the Macross 7 Longest Noise Day audio drama cassette on Yahoo Japan Auctions and it's ending in 2 days. I don't think I'll have enough time to set up a proxy account through Rinkya or Japan Shopping service, but there is an ebay seller on ebay Canada that might be able to bid for me. I sent him a message to see what he says. He has the least expensive fees for proxy buying, but there could be a catch to that. Any other good ideas for buying stuff on Yahoo Japan? I already did a search on the forums. ******************** Also, I updated the Macross Files Request List: A. Macross video : 1. How difficult would it be convert 2D Macross DYRL into 3D? Would you want to watch Itano circus in 3D? ( I know I would ! ) Personally, I would still like a bluray DYRL that has a bit more video and audio remastering done than the remastered DYRL DVD. So, there are already 3D camcorders that can potentially make 3D videos. But, I'm not sure if a 3D camera pointed a HD 2D tv would provide any 3D effect on a 2D anime movie. And then there's the old fashioned anaglyph software conversion for 2d to 3d video in After Effects. I found a demonstration video of anaglyph conversion on youtube, but I didn't quite follow what he was doing. Any good anaglyph 2d to 3d video tutorials out there? Also, has anybody seen a good example of 2D to 3D cartoon that is not computer generated, e.g. How to train your Dragon? ********* I went to the blog dedicated to fan made 3d movies that posted that 3d anaglyph demo on youtube. .http://www.enhanced-dimensions.com/wordpress/

Remaster SDF Macross Episode 33 Remaster SDF Macross Episode 34 subtitled by Galaxy Network bittorrent is also now available! Seed when you can, thanks! ******************** Also, I am currently seeding SDF DYRL MML 4.0 ISO bittorrent per request. Add in bittorrent tracker: http://imacross4.ath.cx:14157 I would like to update SDF DYRL MML and COTB because these fan edits do need to be fixed up to look and sound better. Macross Zero AVCHD and timing SDF episode 35 Ishiguro interview take priority though.

DHE Macross Zero episode 1 AVCHD update: I did a test AVCHD with Nero 10 on a DVD-RW disc. 4gb in size 1. I was able to play the AVCHD disc with Nero Media Player like a DVD disc with basic menu. VLC player can play the m2ts BD video files separately, but is not able to play the AVCHD disc with menu. I haven't figured out all the NeroVision AVCHD menu customization functions work yet. 2. The test AVCHD did not encode the MZero HD AVI video end credits into episode 1, but all the rest of the HD mpeg videos encoded nicely. I'll try one more time to get the avi file to work, otherwise I'll have to make new end credits for episode 1. 3. Swapped out low res FLV video with HD mpeg for M0 1 & 2 previews. 4. All that VF fan edit by howi looks a little pixelated, but that cannot be helped due to the original video resolution being so low in the first place. Maybe there is a video sharpening function in Nero 10? I found one 2 frame video glitch where howi applied an ending transition to his custom title card at the beginning. I don't know how to fix that without figuring out how to make a custom All that VF title card, too. 5. Currently, I'm working on the DHE SDF TV preview video clip. Beginning credits are redone, video has been upgraded to Bandai remastered and scaled up to 1080 wide screen. I am looking over this video to pan certain scenes up or down, so that it looks a little better as wide screen video. 6. It's too bad that Macross Frontier never had an intro without credits. I still need to put together all the DHE Frontier audio clips and re-do the DHE beginning credits. Currently, NeroVision 10.5 is unable to have more than 1 audio track for the AVCHD/BD movie, so no DAPDX Macross Zero commentary track unless I encode a whole separate video with the commentary track included. That extra video with the commentary track would make the AVCHD dual layerd (8 GB) for just a 1/2 hour show. I'll see how much I can get done on this AVCHD for this weekend before I get back to work. I will send download links to Hikuro and OptimusX for suggestions for improvement before I make a final release available.

VF-19A is missing! I'd vote for that one and all the valkyries from VF-X2.

DHE Macross Zero Episode 1 AVCHD project update: Nero Vision 10 HD is being used for this macross fan edit. So far, I did a 90% edit of the 1080p Macross Zero video and the dhe dub v2 ac3 audio. The end credits were re-used from the v2 dhe m0 ep1 avi and scaled up. Video quality for the end credits appeared alright in the preview display. I might have to manually re-create the end credits if the encoded video looks shabby. The DHE logo jpeg was Chroma-keyed in to the short title sequence. The titling function and most other effects now have key-frames. I can manually adjust certain effects to take place from frame to frame. Nero vision does not have the option to type in the timing of video or audio fades for each clip; I had to manually adjust multiple key frames for that. Womble video editor beats Nero Vision for ease of use. For example, the newspaper headline title in the beginning intro (July 1999 Huge Spaceship falls to Earth) was made into two separate titles with opacity and position key-framed. I think I got that working okay. The timing for effects is problematic in Nero Vision because Nero keeps shifting the display preview video out of sync with the audio when I check for the titles to end at the right frame. Annoying. The AVCHD will need to be encoded to see if I need to fix up the editing. Also, I'm working on updating a few of the DHE Macross youtube videos to be included in the AVCHD disc. 1. Macross Zero episode 1 teaser (turn that into a trailer) 2. Macross Zero episode 2 teaser 3. Macross Frontier cast list and previews (turn that into a trailer) 4. Macross SDF TV preview (updating the video and credits; 4:3 aspect ratio) 5. Bonus: "All that VF" Zero + Frontier Fan Edit that was on youtube I do not know how the Nero Vision AVCHD Menu works just yet. We'll see how that goes.

I sent the audio and video over to OptimusX for him to put together the 1080p AVCHD. He was trying to make a dual audio with english subtitles, but the software that puts the 1080p video into AVCHD format makes the english subtitles flicker a lot. Then he got busy just putting together english subtitles patches for the remastered SDF DVDs on asiandvdclub. The 1080p DHE Macross Zero episode 1 mkv video needs to be re-uploaded, since Rapidshare did a major overhaul of its servers last year and deleted the majority of Macross files on iMacross4. I'll have to check to hear if the audio is the version 2.0. I think I can put together an AVCHD with MultiAVCHD and just use all english audio to avoid the subtitle flicker problem. I'm downloading the new version MultiAVCHD now. I also have PowerDirector 8.0 that can edit 1080p video. Let me get back to you.

I'll be getting SDF episode 32 timed in the next two weeks and there's some other Macross related subtitle timing I would like to get done, too.

I have been updating Macrosshare web log for the last month or so. Starting next year, I will be closing the iMacross4 folders and transferring the iMacross4 rapidshare weblinks over to the Macrosshare website. Future updates for Macrosshare can be found here. More than half the people who visit Macrosshare are from South America who speak mainly Spanish, so I have to use Google Translate and Babelfish a lot. You can drop by to visit the forum! Registration is encouraged.

How does the Macross: The First SDF-1 by Mikimoto look like? I can imagine Yamato could repackage the 1 3000 Fortress with TV style arms and paint job and get away with it. I'd like the original SDF-1, please. Here's a picture of someone's 1/5000 WHAM DYRL fortress in SDF TV style.

Remaster SDF Macross episode 30 subtitled by Galaxy Network bittorrent is now available! Seed when you can, thanks! ***************************** Two or more weeks ago, Chad gave me his video encode of remastered sdf ep 28. I have not put together the adv audio and uploaded that episode due to the large amount of uploading I've done lately. I have been updating the Macrosshare website for Frontier TV series and the 1st movie. Now I am uploading and fixing up the remastered Macross 7 post for this week. I think I will post up the special edition remastered SDF TV episodes 00-28 on Macrosshare next.

Back on Topic: I sent off a cheque last month to Philip Santini and he emailed this month to confirm that he has received the payment. Now, my HLD-X0 is going to the Pioneer service outlet to get checked over and have any small worn out parts replaced. Philip is going to confirm my last payment amount < $500 CAN and then it will be shipped out to me. Hurray! Since, I was lucky enough to pick up a Monster Entech SVSI-1, the Amery BNC to RGB conversion box does not look to be needed. Windows 7 seems to be running stable for me, so I can start installing Hauppauge HD PVR and see if I can find my copy of After Effects. Multiupload.com looks to be a very good way for distributing large files like the LD rips.

markcell posted this weblink in the Macroshare shoutbox. May'n 3D movie Phonic Nation I am not sure if it is a concert or a documentary.
