I take it ur not happy with that news Ruskii? had to cancel my pre order..... run outta money to burn it seems.... -
$250 for green???? that would be AWESOME. Pity you missed, need to grab it with both hands if it comes up again! anyhoots, my reason for post is this: Legioss Tread link up MKIV hehe having fun adding details to my above 'base' unit. Its a bit more user friendly too, its easier to get legioss into cradle. Just need to hit it with some fusion white and should be good to go. Just wonderin if I should post some 'progress shots' type thing, or would that be redundant?

no probs Misterryno!~ gotta say the price of styrenes a killer here! around 12 bucks a sheet of the 2mm, and well the lowest for pipes is like 6 bucks... thats AUD btw
-
I thought I should upload pics now before i start gluing and making it look cooler =-)
-
Well just a quick post up of *hopefully* something others can mimic easily! Using 2mm sheet styrene, and stryene rod, and 9.5mm square tube, I constructed this: This time, using only things I could buy at my local toyworld, I feel this can be emulated reasonably easily...hopefully..! Good luck, ask if u have any questions! ( I believe its 3 mm holes I used as well.)

I purchased the V wing from Myers a while back, and found it a very cool ship! the flip open wings that also extend away from the body are cool, and the look is quite sleek! ( did spend a bit of time zooming and destroying with it when i first opened it lol) Very worthy! (unfortunatly its packed away, lack of space yadda yadda...)

Im positive getting 2 ridearmours for the cost of 1/3 of ONE armour more than makes up for the scratch! lol. That is an awesome sight to behold, i only wish the green was normal price as well, pretty sure i would have nabbed it ... oh well!

if ya dont mind cutting up lego and styrene sheets, and putting a bit of TLC into you, it could be reproducable. My original intent was to make something everyone could make easy, but that went by the wayside a bit too easily, and now its a full on projecdt lol. After you asked about how it lined up, i was looking at it again and it was off by bout 5 degrees angle wise, so took it downstairs and fixed it up to be the angle i like heh. so just need the camera to show it again. BTW, anyone got a really good pic of the missiles they have for the Tread? like shape, how they connect, etc? I only have seen that stylised one from the other thread....
-
thanks, I just went to grab camera, but my missus has taken it with her ! will post one as soon as i can though. It comes together quite nicely IMO hehe
-
thanks mate, its a lot straighter as well, the first was... hmm... a bit of the ugly cousin lol
-
forgot combined pic!

update on what I was trying to do with the connector bar. I dont think this can be recast as such though, even though I was aiming to make a simple one. If anyone wants the basic shape so they can piece together from sheet styrene and lego, post here and will try and do so. Heres the semi finished result! 2 pix edit

if you flip out the front cockpit and use a finger or pencil end you can pop the head up enough that it rotates. its basically just a ball end that the head sits on! hpoe this helps =-)

ooooooooooo nasty price though...

Hey robod, hopefully my final design will be straight forward enough that anyone can make it and not pay anything! That last one should be the easiest and best to replicate I hope. Might do some more work on it tonight =-)
-
heh thanks. I do try. Not much fun if my work cant be shared hey !

Thanks for the words Peeps, I hope this works out fine so other can copy! Third installment is basically as minimal as I could make it so far, in order to pass on any 'how to make ' ideas. Top is first one i made from cistern and metal brackets, so far i feel its the coolest but least able to replicate Second is the first lego attempt, its rough as and not very sleek looking Third is the one i was attempting tonight, and with some extra brackets, support and detail should be teh 'production model' LOL. As it is ATM, its totally able to hold togther and fly around no probs. Its essentially styrene sheet cut to shape fixed onto some lego with zap a gap in it. (used cardboard cut outs to get just the right shape to support the legioss best. Enjoy!

lol thanks guys, glad you like it. Took a while of fiddling but in the end its worth it just so I can fly it around LOL. Being that half of it is metal though, not sure how it well it would recast, from a strength POV. HOWEVER, Im working on a 'Mk II', that im making from lego, so if it works out well, will post up a 'requirements guide' to making your own, if theres any interest for it. So far its promising, and all it requires is some technics lego, Zap a Gap, and a File! gonna test fit again tonight. will post here how it turns out at least

Do they feel structuraly sound even though they have that feature? I would have for it to be a weak point. looking forward to this BIG time. -
BTW, how do i make the little thumbnails so the pics aren't ginormous?
-
Love this particular angle on em, and can see how much closer it is...
-
well my 'custom' linkage first proto is finished, so basically THIS: lets me do THIS: its as tight as I could make it, and has complete zoom-ability!
-
prob need a 'spacer' or something.. . not sure.. will look =-)

finished ffcrisis core the other night, over 20 hours WITHOUT doin all the little missions, very sad ending which we all know is going to happen anyway if you have played ff7 you know what im talking bout. that combat gets kinda frantic hard towards the end i have to say. whilst I was totally driven by the story, the combat I felt was ok but there were quite a few times i wished for the 'stop attacking me till i line up the magic/item/whatever I want to do to you' thing! heh. That dodge button is completely necessary in later battles, I went about a third of the way though it time wise, without ever using it hehe. I hate not having any interaction with the DMW, i remember in ff8 how they had the 'hit this button during limit break for extra damage' input. Mini missions are a good way to level urself up a bit. even with only some of them done, I think I ended up being around level 35 or something by the end? Spectacular graphics, engaging story, not bad combat, definatly need to play it if you are any kind of fan of final fantasy! my 2 cents =-)

lol thanks eriku, after making it i felt quite 'flushed'. hehehe. thought of a couple of other ways to do it now, that would also be quite tough. might try those out today as well.
