Has anyone taken a 1/48 and completely painted it? And not have the paint come off after transformations? VERY important that I can find a way to stop paint coming off ! I know a clear coat will help, but has anyone done it? With good results? And Im talking bout making the whole thing a different colour, not just a stripe here n there... Tah in advance........ Sam

Thx, I totally agree on the bazooka though, I looked all through the box hopeing that it was 'hidden' somewhere on a sprue, but alas, no show.. custom time maybe! and pfunk, Bartleys is darn rare now, saw it bout a month ago on ebay, but i had never seen a transformable one. Would be nice though I thought the Blowspherior legs would have been thin nuff, being yellow and all? next day off i will do more and post anyways. tah muchly.

Been a long time since touching any of my models, painting wise, so thought i had better get on and do something today on my day off.. So far its just playing round with Bartleys Ride armour, 1/12 non transformable. I had a shot up in one of the other threads of the pre painted version. This is the colour im settling on, *i like red*, see the legs, well, now that I have done the under armour, now I glue those legs together, sand, then paint them. *why cant they just plug together with polycaps so I can paint them individually* Anyways, its gonna be a while before i can get to it again, but as the title says, progress shots ... C wah u reckon ppl! Sam

Are you talking clear heat shield, or clear chestplate. Clear Heatshield. I want to transform from Fighter to Battroid and not have to remove the cockpit canopy and replace with the battroid heatshield... Oh yeh, Fulcy, Bloody nice mod to your yammie. Thats looks damm awesome! Looks like it could be a tad fragile? But hey, if you can do it, maybe Yamato will too? = ) thanks for the input. Too bad no one has actually made it before though.

I know it sounds kinda stupid, but has anyone tried this? I would love my 1/60 a lot more if i had a way of seeing the cockpit and NOT having to change the heatshield. I think it would be great if someone had tried to make the heatshield clear, maybe even making the raised section a bit flater, so it looked good in both modes and could still transform. So any recasters done this?

Pretty. Did you panel line in white at all? Cant see if you did ? Would look cool though. And was it the 1/100 variable? Ive yet to make mine, but if it is, looks nice in fighter...

Thanks guys Yeh, was a nice surprising look from the benchtop, didn't expect it too look like that. I was just mainly trying to make it look like some formation flying ! No plans for other mods to it, that was the only thing that was buggin me*at least, for the moment! * And those mods took all of ten minutes max. Its a case of sharp knife, careful cutting. Needs a bit of tidying, but its mostly unseen anyways... Next project will being finishing my mospeada ride armours. Just had no time for them lately *sigh*

And now another pic of my new fast packs along side some other valks in 'flight' patterns.. or you can call it a 'random assortment of toys on a kitchen bench'... whatever.. Im joining the love parade of 1/48 fast packs, they're awesome! and sooooooo heavy, like half a brick with them on! Comparing to the 1/60, they just are so much more aesthetically pleasing, the lines and sizes are soo much more accurate, but I ran out of camera storage before I got on here, so no pix unless someone really wants some B) enjoy

Have had the yf21 fastpack yamato for a few weeks, but didn't try the hands till tonight. They look nifty, love the sleek lines of the plane with no fast packs on, but still reckon teh model versions looks the nicest * I know its cuz it doesn't have to transform, its just my opinion* Of course they*the gun holding hands* dont retract, but my pocket knife had other ideas for the poor toy!! *evil grin* after shaving a little bit off the hands, they can now retract into the arm, and by placing the trigger-finger carefully in the tail section of the afterburner area, will transform, no parts need be removed ! All I need to do is trim something from the hands so the darn fingers fit into the guns! see for urselves............

Hey, dont say they are toooooo bad. I just bought some to build, and haven't got them yet, but here are the pix of HLJ to show you what they look like. I thought they looked ok? Im looking forward to airbrushing the lil buggers!!!!!

I actually bought some waterbased clear gloss floor finish from the local hardware store, was going to give it a go at some stage. But at 20aud a small tin, its pretty damn expensive if its a dud! Thanks again!

Wow, if it is gonna be based from THAT, than its all good! Only problem i see is the landing gear, it looks like a replaceable part that has to be interchanged. I think I would rather have that though just so I can have a really nice fighter mode, to rival the nice lines of the 1/48. thats what helps make the 1st version chunkier, landing gear and other parts trying to make the lines look smooth, but sacrificing the thinness that was the front cockpit. Also theres the whole 'making it strong nuff to be a toy that doesn't break in two seconds' Be awesome if Yamato decided to detail like that model too! Im really really REALLY looking forward to it now! Thanks for those pix, wish I could get a hold of a mass production version of that model to make for myself!

*sigh* when offered to have either a house, or E.S.P, why, oh WHY, did I choose to have a roof over my head? How did G. manage to get hooked up with Yamato in the first place? Did you save a Yamato rep. from in front of a speeding bus or something, and then he owed you big time, G? Or maybe just good Karma.... Whatever it is, its a power that allows you to control the thought patterns of literally hundreds of macross ppl... Oh the power of the dark side....... Too tired, time to go to sleeeeeeeeeep....
