Thanks for the compliment Fanboy Repainting? These little guys are hard enough to paint well the 1st time, let alone going at it twice What colour did u go with? i keep looking at it on my desk just loving the look of this guy... gotta get my finger out and make all my 1/144s so i can make the proper diaroma! Want to do the stealth in nato black, the first one I did was glossy, which doesn't look right... Also have another 11b that I was going to do up in white/red or white/yellow. Gotta have Roy colours on each valk hehe Sam

hmm, forgot something.. tail fins in blue ! *please just excuse this oversight, =)* so im happy with it for the most part, kinda wish the panel lines were a bit deeper cuz it took a LONG time to get the oil fine enough to sit there, and I had already done my major shading and didn't want to use my panel saws to get it deeper.. So what do you think? Sam

Thanks mate =) well here is what is basically my final product, unless i think of something else I need to do! The little emblem on the heatsheild was a hand paint, no stickers or decals, so be nice Theres a couple of touchups to be done, but hey, please enjoy the pics! *oh, i have that clear green on silver trick, man, its cool!! couldn't resist putting some on the rifle! LOL*

there was the 1/72 scale Alpha+Tread, has anyone seen it about at all that actually available to order? cant seem to find anyone with it instock, and not really sure what price they are going for, seen some round the $50 odd, .... I thought I saw someone doing it here but did a search and couldn't find anything Oh, also, has anyone BUILT one to tell me how good it is ? Any help is appreciated ! Thanks in advance Sam

and this is the last pic tonight.. its basically showing off the colour im doing the fast packs, (metallic as opposed to flat grey as shown... I paint how i like mostly ! lol) also did some hand detailing of the lines of black and red.. turned out ok, I find that thinning the paint right down but not to 'wash' thin, but still with more paint than thinner, and using a fine brush lets you get reasonably straight lines! Good if there is a groove to follow too Doing the silver on the visor trick here as well, im soooo looking forward to seeing how the clear green shows up on this on such a small figure..>!! This is after feathering it out a bit.. takes away the high contrast, but still leave a bit there for interest... it seems to be a bit grainy, the paint... im thinking its a bit too old or dried out, but till my new paints arrive in the mail im kinda too impatient to wait, needed to do something while i had time off!!

Well, heres the other project Im doing at the same time, the 1/144 scale bandai VF11b Battroid! These cewl figs are really easy to fit together, and have a few seams but overall its not too much of a pain, but they are fun cuz they can be done reletivily quickly!! This first shot is basically after basecoat grey and putting on darker panel lining.. this will be feathered out with light grey over the top. Thats an idea again from William!(thanks) I must say the sprues you get the models on are really helpfull when doubled up with blue tak for holding what you are painting! heh

Next i did up the shading on the red parts on the armour. thought i better dress him up cuz hes a bit naked without being painted *the valk itself i mean.. my white paint is also in the mail.. heh* There is still plenty to be done, like panel lining with oils and stuff, and oh, thanks to Williams idea of putting reflective silver in visors, i have the silver in but am , guess what, WAITING for my clear green in the mail. But the armour is almost done, just need to do the valk hey.. but just sharing this while the g/f is out of the house, I can do my dorky things LOL Well, thats it for now, please check out my other model im doing at the moment as well, the VF-11b Battroid! got to have two going at once cuz the whole 'waiting for paint to dry ' thing.. This is basically where all sanding was done and was doing base coat for the armour... man i hate sanding..... specially when i have to use glue as my only putty at the moment...*its in the mail, so no ones allowed to pic on any seams or nutting * I normally only do darker panel lining, but this time went dark and used lighter colour for the edges the way its supposed to be done i guess Had to use flash so the shading could be seen... i love shading.. its such a cool effect to see straight away.. quite satisfying.. UNLIKE sanding..heheh

Well, after months of having lost this thing, I finally had found it and have been having a crack at it! This little baby is kinda like the joke machines in that it can transform between modes, and has removeable armour. its bout the same size as those little sd figures on the keyrings, if you remember when they came out a couple years back! quite cool for the size! Anyways, bought this from Rob,aka MonkeyNugget, thanks very much, and heres my progress so far from the last coupla days, so enjoy! Feedback appreciated as always!

Cool D. noticed u r making it poseable too, in the arms n stuff. They are very fixed aren't they... but still, its cool to have =) be good to see it finished too. I couldn't be bothered at the moment to try and customize these tiny kits, im happy nuff just to make them look as good as I can in the appropiate amount of time. I only have the one 1j Armoured, but that enough. PS. I hate sanding. = Less custom ideas Sam

I might try and put a pic here, but i am wanting to do a 'progress shots ' thread for it, but trust me mate, Im doing it now I found it LOL Sidearms, I used the base figure electra with custom hair made from two part putty. I gave her the Jim Lee outfit, or my best effort anyways, cuz I have always loved his art! I saw that statue I think you are talking bout and one i saw was chubby??? and the other had a strange face... dunno why they dont get it right..*sigh* n thanks Anubis, I only wish it was lifesize heres a pic of the fully painted helmet and Cannon, let me know what you ppl reckon on the transparent vs solid colour helmet.. Im undecided... Im not gluing the visor in place, so it can be posed, so I can see Fukes face detail, or just looks more anime with it closed ! kinda torn on the issue..

They actually aren't that glossy, I just suck at photos and using flash I was totally stoked how Archangel turned out, I made my own design wings in a set of four. Came up nice i reckons =) This is the colour he should have been to represent a Horseman of the Apocolypse, Dark and evil! LOL Also I just painted the Cannon I made for Fuke/Rook, and it looks a lot better, pretty close to the reala thing. Gonna post a pic tomorrow if I have time. =) Also painted her helmet visor dark blue, the see through just wasn't working for me, now it it looks more anime Sam

WHOO! SHAKE THAT ASS! Nice work. ... But don't they run on hydrogen? The only thing being exhausted should be water. </spoilsport> LOL. Thanks mate .. dont say that about the exhaust.. hydrogen wont let me play with the blackpaint in the airbrush! I would give exhaust stains to a model of a kettle given half a chance ! Im telling ya, ppl are missing out if they aren't putting exhaust stains on ! heh Sam

Oh, and Dyo*if ur still out there * I have found the SD -1J, and have started bits and pieces to it, so heres a pic of its run down, but at the moment im only gluing and sanding *.. damn, I need some of that Mr Surfacer!! ugh. has to be better...* But I just got the SV in the mail, so Im kinda more excited bout making it, but with it Im gonna be doing a night assault colour scheme =) * cool way of saying black LOL* but will be in the next few weeks, will probably start up a new PROGRESS SHOTS thread then, if anyones interested that is... looking forward to the feedback ppl! lay ur insights on me! Ive still got a half made mospeada im gonna do in Rands config too.. might have to get onto it... heheh over and out. Sam

And now as promised, this is *one* of the reasons I have been so slack with the macross modelling scence for the last few months...

Now this is my hybrid cannon for her.. just not complete without one.. its a combination of a pen, Stereo adaptor, model sprues, a small led, and whatever else I can find. Couldnt' really find a good pic of her cannon, so this will just have to do, looks kinda the part, just need to bore out the gun tip more and paint it up!!

Sideshot ... I wish the photos showed up the shading more but I guess i need to turn off the flash to get that hey..... =(

Next... checkin out the ass... LOL I had fun using black paint and airbrushing 'exhaust' fumes onto both the rockets and the exhausts, I found it probably the funnest part of the whole painting! Decals were a little bit of a paint though if its all glued together, but I reckon tweezers and those ear cleaner things help heaps! lets u move the decals around and the earbud things let you soak up the excess moisture without moving the decal too much.. =)

Well Im back, after finally putting the last touches on the Ride armour, I know its been a long time, so sue me ! I just been doing other stuff, * which Im gonna show off as well cuz its custom related! The ride armour is now fully painted, had a couple of clear coates, a black oil paint wash, and 99% decaled! Im even working on a Cannon for her, which i took a photo of as well.. check out the pix and tell me what you reckon ppl!
