I think clear gloss should be thinned a bit as you thin the others tamiya light colors, but i never airbrushed it so... The flat base if I remember well is supposed to be added to the gloss paint to make them flat, it's not a clear flat finish.

You forgot the BP9 that is different in the D variant. A new cockpit aerea(bd6-bd7) is sufficient, the nosecone is a different piece , no need to change it I think.

Actually there was a old Vf-1 model made by yellow submarine that required almost total part swapping to transform , Yamato just don't belive in the M0 merchandising and is going for a cheap toy without transformation mechanism, just like the bandai vf-2SS. Uhm... i watched some sv-51 art from hobby japan, and yes, the nosecone actually fold in the front landing gear bay, this explain why its so long.

I'll suggest a vf-1a, cause the A head collapse pretty well in fighter mode, the S head visor will be ever visible, dunno about the J. If you are going to buy a vf-1s I suggest the Hikaru vf-1s cause it have some improvements like the better sculped pilot and front landing gear easier to open.

Yeah, HlJ is slow, I buy a lot of model supply I can't buy in my city from them, I usually buy without exceed a certain value as I use SAL, so even if the item is lost i don't care so much. I must wait but I always receive my items, usually within 2 weeks, their price are often very good and I must say i'm very happy, I can buy a lot of thing they sell in some italian e-shop but I should pay 2 or 4 time more. Just happened to wait 2 months for a box once. EMS is good but I have a tax problem with that. ps There are other asian e-shop that sell modeling tools as good as HLJ?
