i was actually thinking of doing a group buy on some acrylic risers since i got the wholesale hook up on them but the only problem is the shipping cost for you guys. while the risers are pretty light weight, they're basically shaped like squares and/or rectangles so the shipping box will have to be fairly big which in turn will increase the shipping costs. i've been looking to find a cost effective way to ship them but no dice so far. if people don't mind paying the higher shipping costs, i'll do it like next week, but i have a feeling no one wants to buy a bunch of risers for like $10 then have it cost like $10 to ship it. hopefully i'll come up with something and everyone will get hooked up. -
Where is this dead stock??? A few days ago i searched all over the net for a vf-1J, and the cheapest i could find it for was $168. Everywheres its sold out, except at hobbyonsale it seems... Where else is it availble? i was going to tell you to check out valkyrie-exchange because kevin had a bunch of super 1J's last week.....but hes all sold out now so i don't know where you could turn other than asking a overseas member to try and hunt one down for you.

If that is the case then are you saying we will see a 2 seater? i dunno? but i think theres a pretty good chance they will come out. the 1/60 VE, VT and 1D didn't do that well out the gate, everyone knows that. the people who wanted them bought them but it still took quite a while to sell out the stock. i think(as well as many others) the poor sales had to do with yamato releasing the 1/48 line before finishing the 1/60 line but now, all 3 valks are hard to find, i know i haven't seen any of the 3 in any store in a long time. i think yamato learned from its mistakes and will slowly releases valks into the market and keep the demand high. when they first introduced the 1/48 line, they were releasing valks in pairs.... i.e. 1A hikaru and 1S roy, 1A max and 1A LV, 1S roy reissue 1S hikaru, 1J hikaru and super 1J hikaru, 1J max and 1J millia. they know by now that they satuarated the market way too quickly so they're trying something new and releasing them inidividually. they got the GBP coming(with or w/o 1J bundle? hasn't been confirmed), the CF coming in august, and i think they'll release the 1D right before/after christmas. the VE will follow sometime in march/april, and the VT sometime in septemeber, then the SDF-1. obviously this is all speculation but i think they have a very good idea what the fans want.....not including little nitpicks about this and that. if they just looked on ebay, they'd realize that theirs still a market for the entire 1/48 line. in just the past month people here were asking for 1A hikarus.....a f-in 1A hikaru for christ sakes! who would've of thunk it!

the head is way too big and the feet are way too small, i say send her back for a refund. congrats dude. one day i'll ahve one of my own.
-
i believe yamato will eventually make the SDF-1, its just a waiting game. with all the other stuff they've released, it wouldn't make any sense for them not to make it.

BAD! It's "Loves Drifts Away". . . RT-er! Burn him! ummm, other than the dubbing/translation, the robotech series and macross series are exactly the same.
-
yeah you dumb fockin shight head.
-
i know i wouldn't mind if they did since it would give me another valk to buy and help feed my addiction. i actually prefer the "poo-colored" TRU version over the plain CF. atleast with the TRU one, the head arrows were painted.
-
limited, shimited, all i know is i HAVE to get 2 so i can have both TV and DYRL verisons.

Considering buying two, 1 for you, one for the kid
do not disturb replied to DatterBoy's topic in Toys
its not coming out til august(yeah right!) so you got plenty of time to save up for 2....maybe even 3. i don't have kids but i don't think i'd let them play with my 1/48's until they get older and have more self control. if the kid is psyched on valks, he'll most likely swoosh it around until he crashes into the floor or even worse drops it down the stairs. -

dudes, heres a FYI for you fools using CD cases, styrofoam, books and anything else you can think of to put some height on your stuff..... for example, the ikea detolf i believe has 16" x 16" glass shelves. so first you want to pick up some acrylic risers in atleast 2 different sizes in height(maybe a few 2" and 4" risers depending on how much height you want?). they're pretty common so it shouldn't be that hard to find. once you get the risers, measure the depth of the riser, most risers are usually there 5" deep or so but it doesn't matter cause you'll have the riser supporting the glass shelf in the end anyway. once you got that, all you have to do is fine a glass store and have them cut two pcs. of 5" x 16" glass shelves per 16 x 16 shelf. the detolf i believe has 4 shelves total including the one on the bottom. so you want to get 8, 5"x16" shelves cut. make sure to ask the guy for polished edges so you don't cut yourself and get atleast 1/4" thickness for lighter stuff, or 3/8" for the heavy stuff. so now you got the glass, you got the risers, and instead of having one 16 x 16 shelf, you just made 3 shelves....two 5 x 16, one of them is 2" in height the other 4", and then theres 6" thats left on the bottom giving you plenty of display room to fit everything to want into a small amount of space. this whole thing would cost you less than $50 if even that....glass is super cheap. and in case anyone is wondering what it would look like, from a side view it would look like a set of stairs. hope that makes sense? -
someone mentioned something about the pilot fig. my guess would be they'll make the standard DYRL pilot with green highlights on the helmets just like most if not all the CF pilots in the movie and the TV show. atleast i hope its green so i don't have to paint a kakazaki pilot for my other 1A/S.

i zoned out and totally missed the entire episode. the worst part about it, i was right in front of the TV the whole friggin time but didn't bother to click to fox until 10:30.

I think the yellow ribbon may be a poor example. I've never heard of people selling ribbons to raise money for soldiers overseas. The yellow ribbon is a very old tradition intended to show support for our troops. Families and friends have put up yellow ribbons since (I believe) the Civil War. Yes, Walmart may sell them. . . You have to get your ribbon somewhere if you want to engage in the tradition! But any "organization" selling them as some type of "soldier's fund" is new to me. As long as they aren't over-charging, however, I don't see the harm. H perhaps over in your neck of the woods thats not the case, over here in NYC, my friggin bodega sells them not to mention just random folks on the streets, yellow ribbons, american flags, yellow wrist bands and anything else they can angle for maximum profit all in the name of charity. theres this one dude i see on the train all the time, he claims hes a pastor or something talking about raising money to feed the homeless. mind you this guy rocks a $1K movado watch and got some blingon his fingers, wrist and neck. -

I know... damn those charity events for charging so much for a good cause!!! okay, i have a good cause.....ME! $1100 for The Children's Health Center my ass! theres no such thing as charity anymore, someones always gets rich off these charity events. if you think all of the $1100 per person is going straight towards saving the health center, you need to have your head examined. after everyone invloved takes their cut, maybe, possibly, some poor sick kid will see about $10 of i....if that. if you don't believe me, heres a good example lance armstrong and his yellow wrist bands. yeah hes honest but not all the mofo's selling them to suposedly raise money for cancer reseach. heres another the yellow ribbons everyones got hanging outside there house or what have you. you know, people are selling them to raising money for the soldiers overseas. if it ain't one scam its another....sorry but i'm a skeptic. -

if by "sumo armor" you mean GBP, all of them except the VE, VT, and 1D as they have a slightly different chest plate design. people must learn to read! -
ummm, $10 recast hands from rohby, or buy a toy that clearly costs more? i think i'll go with the recasts.

actually, its quite simple. i've fully taken apart atleast 4 or 5 of them and its pretty straight forward other than a couple of hidden screw in the legs. check the "how to customize" section for more details.

actually they aren't really that fragile, we just have a bunch of clumsy members that dropped their valks. it doesn't just snap on its own, if anything the 1/60 backpack hinges are way worse. i thought the same thing you did about the 1/48's a while back, now i got 13 of them. believe me, you won't be disappointed with your purchase. they're way expensive as is now and with no future releases on the horizon(other than GBP armor) the price is only going to go up then you'll really be SOFL or broke as hell.
