1. looks fantastic! i can't wait to pick these up. *rant* why the hell are they selling the FP seperately? its total BS IMO, they should just packaged all of them with FP's instead of trying to rake me over the coals and take more of my money. */rant*
2. you rock, many thanks and welcome to the boards.
3. IIRC, i think member gabe-q has EXO's TV max head as his avatar. i think he basically cut off the black part of the A head and somehow managed to get the green visor to fit. he's had that head done since last year, i guess they work for yamato or something...hehehe
4. well the A head is the easiest since you can actually take it apart. the J i haven't bothered with but i've painted a couple. i took a piece of tape and put it over the visor section, then using a sharp knife, i cut around the visor and removed the excess. try to leave a little extra tape so you can stuff it into the edges of the visor so you can paint the inside rim without having to worry. when your done, take some tweezers and remove the tape. the S head is a pain. i actually had to break the nub that holds the visor in place in order to paint it. i used a break away blade(a box cutter) and pushed it straight down(do not saw at it otherwise you'll damage the head) going along the top of the visor. it takes a little force to cut through the nub but it comes out clean, atleast it did on mine. then shake the head til the nub falls out, paint it, then glued the visor back into place. AFAIK, theres no other way that i know of to take apart the S or J heads without having to damage or break them.

BP8's

ask Neova if he can help you. if not, i'll hook you up. i have a super stiff version i bought as a spare.
6. i finally had a chance to visit the chameleon website and dude, why didn't you mention that the product was predominantly used on electric model trains? that alone would sold me right there. our valks are expensive but electric model trains are out of hand expensive. if they're taking the chance on those, i have no fear that it'll do the job on my ABS toy. anyway, i just called them to place my order so hopefully i'll be here sometime next week.
7. gotta a question if you don't mind, are the MG1/2 sets available as stickers? or are they only waterslide decals?
8. back to back customs huh? i likes! gotta ask how long did it take you to apply all the decals/stickers?
9. looking good my man! i'm glad more and more MW'ers are doing up some customs. keep'em coming
10. with no hestitation i vote for perfect trans 1/60 valks. i've wanted yamato to make them since forever ago. they're the perfect size for swooshing around, i mean you can swoosh around a 1/48 but you can't really swoosh it swoosh it around. i know its seems silly but i want a valk that i can actually play with(kind of why i'm looking so forward to toynamis 1/100 valk) and not just a super awesome display piece. as much as i'm VF-1ed out, if they made it exactly like the 1/48, i'd buy all of the them again.
11. i think you just answered you're own question right there. the 1A max were the shelf warmers of shelf warmers as far as yamatos 1/48 line. so you gotta ask yourself, would you re-release a toy that sold the worst? thats like them re-releasing the millia q-rau! LOL!
12. not that i wouldn't mind another cool camo valk, i'd rather see a 2 seater since they can always go back and milk the VF-1 molds any time they want.
13. ooo, that does make it look a bit nicer and its actually a spot where there won't be much wear and tear....i might have to borrow your idea.
14. talk about back from the dead. i guess i'm still on the 1/60 bandwagon after all this time. i love the 1/48 scale but i just don't see the point in making a non-TFing figure in such a large scale. then again, they did an AMAZING job with the 1/48 GBP armor. all the bells and whistles on that sucker is truly unbelieveable. if they can produce something with that kind of detail and the gimmicks to back it up, i guess a 1/48 destroid would be sweet too. to be or not to be.... broke that is the question!
15. great news man. as much as i'd like to try this stuff out, i honestly wonder what the long term effects would be? i guess i'll have to wait and see if any of your parts dissolve in the next month or so. keep us posted!
16. i think i replied a while back. i have the bp10 in brown but i would need the same piece(preferably white) to replace it. Neova said he might have that part for me possibly by the time i place my next order with him(month of july). if he does have it in white,*crosses fingers* i'll definitely hook you up with the brown one.
17. try talking to the guy who traded one of his LVs for the 11/19/21 valks.
18. i don't think the LV is really 'popular' but its definitely one of the more sought after valks. not because of limited numbers, not because it was weathered and panel lined, but more because people just like what they don't/can't have. IMHO, if the LV wasn't limited, it would've sold just as poorly if not worse than the 1A max. it took forever for vendors to clear out their stock of LV's, no lie. even vendors like soze had cases upon case he couldn't get rid of at $155 a pop(don't you wish you could get that price now). only when someone on ebay had to have every LV that got listed for a month straight did the demand go up. sadly, he(probably suffering from auction fever)single handedly created a frenzy in the collectors market in doing so. people here and around the globe saw how much someone was willing to pay for a LV so came the secondary market prices. but before then, the LV was last on anyones wish list.
19. i'm not graham but i'll venture a guess and say they'll be plenty of these to go around. i think yamato has learned from their mistake when they released the 1A lowviz as a limited valk. just imagine how many more they could've sold if they didn't put 'limited version' on the box? d'oh!
20. as far as i know, people have come close but theres never been an exact match....white seems to be the most difficult to color match. you can either paint the entire thing white and start your custom from there, or you can strip all the stock paint off using the steelwool and brasso method. there might be other options for paint stripping but this is the method thats worked for me on my past 3 customs. hope that helps, good luck with your custom and make sure you post pics!
21. so i'm a huge fan of the Ace Combat video game and i was thinking about making a custom 1/48 yellow squadron valk(its the SU-37 in case anyone is wondering). i got the basic gist of the paint scheme but i was wondering if anyone had some good screen shots or pics of this plane? i can see the top view while in the fighter select menu but theres no way to see the details on the underside of the plane. i know its mostly yellow and i can pan the camera around to see the underside of the plane while in flight, but it won't hold or pause while i'm doing it and i know theres more going on underneath it detail-wise. i know theres a bunch of people on MW that love this game series and hopefully one of you guys can help me out in finding some reference pics as i'm not having much luck with it. thanks in advance.
22. haha! only on MW does a new toy release turn into a yamato request thread. i don't know about you dudes but all the requests for light up fold boosters and other non essentials details will only increase the price of this toy but i guess the price is another thing we can complain about after we get what we want. seriously, i'm just glad that yamato came through with the goods after all this time. beefy, skinney, long, short, as long as its more durable/detailed than the 1/72 version, i'll be happy with it.
23. Rolly eyes were in reference to what the 1/60 might cost, not at you. Sorry for the misunderstanding. 410279 my bad dude. i was sitting here like, what the heck did i do to this guy? why is he pissed at me? but yeah the prices on these suckers definitely earns a permanent set of these.
24. i don't really know why everyone all of the sudden wants to dump their 1/72's? i realize the 1/60 line will be far superior but theres still some value in owning the very first renditions of the 11/19/21. i mean, look at all the guys who dumped the 1/60 line after the 1/48 was released. it seemed kind of silly(to me) considering its the most complete line of macross toys to date. to answer your question, i'll be holding onto all 4 of the 1/72 releases. 410265 To milk their resale value before word gets out on the 1/60, and to finance buying these new $160-$200 toys ? It would be good to keep a few to stand next to HCMs... 410266 if reselling them was your original intention when you purchased them, thats cool, but i didn't pick them up with the intention of ever selling them so why should i consider it now? if the "value" drops, so be it, but i certainly didn't get them for their monetary value(i traded a LV for them for crying out loud), i got them because i like mac plus, its as simple as that. and no need to roll your eyes at me dude, i wasn't even replying to you.
