i still haven't gotten the 0S and theres no 2nd release out as of yet. but when it does comes out, you best believe i'm buying that badboy, the zero valk is off the hizzle! i got the VF-0A and VF-1A AB from Neova, i get all my macross goodies from him.

i finally got my first zero valk yesterday and i must say i'm truly impressed with it. everything on mine is near perfect and the new transformation design totally blew my mind! the only thing that bothers me is the super fragile antenna on the nose(i just took it off and put it away), and i wish the feet had a few more 'clicks' for more poseability. i could go on and on about this bird but i won't bore you with it, i'll just say its the shiznit. all in all this is the first time in a long time i felt i got my monies worth from yamato. all the tampo printing alone(especially the HUD) made this purchase worth it. for those who are on the fence about picking up a zero valk, i can say with 100% certainy, you won't be disappointed in the least. bravo yamato, bravo!

so after opening up the box and really looking at it, theres quite a few things that i have issues with. 1. the plastic is not of the same quality as previous valks. i know this sounds silly but i compared the 2 plastics and the AB plastic is almost the same as the MPC hikaru. 2. the blue paint easily chips and scrapes off. i went to TF it into gerwalk mode but as soon as i released the legs, i noticed the blue paint was already coming off the hips. they should've molded the hip pieces in blue like the 1J max since its a wear and tear area but no. 3. be careful folding the tailfins down for battroid/gerwalk modes. normally you can just flip them closed but if you do it with the AB, you'll be left with blue paint on the inside of the tailfin since they scrape together when you fold them down. its not a huge problem but still something to look out for if you don't want to touch up the blue paint on the tailfins. 4. the AB is super white in comparison to the rest of the valks so part repleacements won't be easy if you break something. i also have a strong feeling this will be the first 1/48 to yellow out of all of them. 5. theres little blue marks all over this thing. its not a big deal, you can use some really fine sand paper and gently buff most of it out. whatever you do, do NOT apply any kind of liquid while you're doing it. a dry sanding will give you the best results and keep the paint from spreading. all in all i guess its alright(at best) but i'm really questioning why i ever bought this valk to begin with? i like the fact that its unique but it definitely doesn't seem like its the same level of quality as the previous 1/48's. who knows? maybe it just me....

[small rant] i just got my AB today(thanks Neova) but i have a small issue wiht the paint....whats with the overspray of blue paint on the chest piece? the white stripe on the chest has a bluish haze on it....grrrrr! [/small rant] i'll have to TF it when i get home but so far it looks a-okay. i'm really digging the green pilot figure, if anyone want to sell/trade theres, please hit me up.

Would You Buy A New Perfect Variable 1/60 Vf-1?
do not disturb replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
you're probably right. the legs would be the first thing to go, then we'd all be compaining why they didn't make a better one....this toy sucks, yamato sucks, i can't believe they forced me to buy it, yadda yadda yadda. who knows?, maybe they have something in the works that graham isn't telling us about? i totally agree. the rau's could've sold better had they put a realistic price tag on it. they should've gone with the 'sell it for less and sell a lot more of them' philosophy instead of the 'lets make it really expensive even though it doesn't transform and we'll see if it sells'. maybe they'll take a different approach on future releases....atleast i hope they do. -
Transformer Starscream Masterpiece has arrived!
do not disturb replied to kentgh's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
i was kind of joking but you're right in one sense. but dont' forget that part of the charm of this toy is the fact that it has the option to transform. SS like the AB, its just not that pretty in robot mode but that doesn't mean i'll never transform it to battroid. i just prefer the the asthetics of fighter mode over robot mode on both toys. i guess i could get a more accurate version but i won't have th eoption to transform it. but then again, it not like i'm buying this version. if they went with a true grey, it would've been easier to cough up the loot but since its some weird combo of green/blue, i'd rather not buy it and be disappointed...but to each his own. -

Would You Buy A New Perfect Variable 1/60 Vf-1?
do not disturb replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
so nice, he had to say twice i'd still buy a PT 1/60 but new is better than rehashed. on the fo'seriousness! they really need to come out with destroids but i'm not sure enemy mecha is going to happen considering the poor sales of the 2 current raus. honestly, i think their sales would've been better had they released the the battle pods first, gulag, TV rau, then the M&M raus. how does it make sense that the first release of an enemy mecha toy be a toy that people(normal folks) aren't that familiar with? -
ROTFLMAO thats my new favorite site. thanks for the much needed laugh wolfx!

i just paid the guys and i should have the hands in soon and it was actually cheaper than i anticipated, yay! it doesn't look like yamato is ever going to upgrade their chicken hands so if all goes well with these dudes, i'm gonna continue buying diffferent style hands for as long as they'll do business with me. people that have hands coming are.... roy's blues(many thanks for sharing!) twoducks Gatillero PR Chindenathus i gotta wait for the shipment from japan but i'll contact you guys with your totals once everythings ready to go.

Transformable airplanes, how many?
do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
no doubt, i actually like the G1 TF's like starscream and thrust so no discrimination. TFs are fine as long as they aren't totally craptastic. personally, i think the MP line in general is quite awesome as well as the alternators/binaltechs....whatever the line of TFs where the cars look like actual cars, and not a car shaped vehicle with wheel and visible with hinges all over it. -
Transformable airplanes, how many?
do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
its cool to list the bad ones too, this thread is all in fun anyway. beside, i'm actually having a blast googling for the images of these ummm....toys....errrr bricks. and serious props for some of the gobots listed, what they lack in robot mode they make up for it in vechicle mode....TF's on the otherhand, well it isn't so much about which mode is the best, but more which mode isn't the worst. -

do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
so after looking at some pics, i've decided that transformers are not allowed, atleast not the craptastic ones which is a majority of the line. sorry to you transformer collectors out there but i can't even begin to grasp why/how you can collect the....worst....toys....ever! heres some examples of what i'm talking about... and my personal favorite.... ROTFLMAO! i'm still laughing at some of these pictures as i'm going down the list to see what everything looks like. the new title for this thread shoudl be changed to, transformable airplane toys people should never buy. -
looking good but we definitely need more pics of this bird! while i'm not a huge fan of the yamato stickers, its isn't so bad if you cut them down and apply them properly. i stickered my 1S roy way back when and i don't have a single sticker thats pealing. the only real problem with them is that they're kind of thick, otherwise they stick like any other sticker. don't get me wrong, theres better stickers out there(devin) but yamato's stickers aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

Transformable airplanes, how many?
do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
wow that some list ghostryder! i take it all of those are transformers? oh and as far as the ariel bots, they're borderline gobots. i only included them because of childhood nostalgia, otherwise they shouldn't really be on the list. twoducks, no models, no kits, its gotta be a toy straight out the box. that thing is really cool though...i should consider getting some gundams to mess around with. -
Transformable airplanes, how many?

jetfire is in there but it falls into the same catagory as 1/55 bandai/takatoku. you gotta find ones that have unique transformations. -
Transformable airplanes, how many?

if its a helicopter/airplane/shuttle its cool, pretty much anything aviation related its cool as long as it doesn't look like a brick with wings per ghostyders post. -
Transformable airplanes, how many?
do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
haha, i should've limited to somewhat decent transforming airplane toys....which would exclude gobots and crappy toys of the like. -
so i was rearranging my shelves this weekend making space for the new yamato releases when i started thinking, i wonder what other transformable airplane toys are out there? and who makes them? i thought it would be fun to try and compile a 'one of each' list based on different transformations and scales(no varients and colors). so if you can think of any, please post. cool transformable airplane toys: 1/48 - VF-1 - yamato 1/60 - VF-1 - yamato 1/60 - VF-0 - yamato 1/55 - VF-1 - bandai/takatoku/hasbro 1/35 - Alpha - gakken 1/?? - beta - gakken/lansay 1/55 VF-1 MPC - toynami 1/55 alpha MPC - toynami 1/72 - YF-19 1/72 - YF-21 1/72 - VF-11 1/100 - konig monster VF-17 - bandai VF-19S - bandai VF-1 - banpresto 1/100 VF-1 - toynami Aquarion attack type - Bandai Aquarion regular type - Bandai VF-1 - joke machines - matchbox VF-1 - morphers - toynami....these are very suspect! Transformers, so bad they need their own list: MP starscream - hasbro G1 starscream/thrust/etc, all of them are the same.

its not just regular toast, its french toast. looks like its coming along beautifully, hopefully she'll be seaworthy before it gets too cold out. keep them progress pics coming!

you could be right, i have no idea as of yet? so far i've asked him to add lights to the following areas... both legs, the front landing light, the red thing on the top of the strike canon, FP boosters exhausts and whatever else i can come up with. if anyone has any other suggestions as far as areas to lighting up, please share. BTW, do you have some pics of your work? i'd be very interested in getting some ideas and tips if possible.

i just bumped it up so i could reference the info faster, otherwise i was having to run a search for this thread everytime i needed to know something,...it was getting to be hassle is all. sorry.
